  1. to be clear i don’t think anyone here has (recently) said that we would have done better last year if arch had been starting. what we (or at least i) have said is that Arch Manning already has his team as what we all agree is a playoff worthy team, warts and all. now imagine if he had the likes of kelvin banks and a joe moore nominated o line, xavier worthy, ad mitchell, jonathan brooks, gunnar helm, jt sanders, matthew golden, et al to work with.

most people here hate our wr1; last night was our first 100 yard rushing game of the season; sark routinely abandons the run putting us in 3rd and long over and over again; and our online has been terrible - serviceable. what Arch has done with his supporting cast >>> what QE ever did with his supporting casts. i don’t see how that’s arguable. you can feel that i’m close minded for saying that, but i truly don’t see how anyone can argue otherwise.

  2. quinn was limited, erratic, inaccurate, and he held his offense back, two years in a row. arch is the best player on his offense and is making lemons out of lemonade, which is the opposite of what quinn did.

we all agree that this team deserves to be in the playoff, and we all know that the talent surrounding the qb is wildly subpar compared to that of both of QE’s last two supporting casts. quinn kept his team from going further in the playoffs than they should have with his poor throws and self sacks, while arch has led his team to the doorstep of the playoff despite his teammates and coaches seemingly conspiring against him on a weekly basis. player vs player arch is better than quinn, and impact vs impact it’s arch >>> quinn. seriously, this can’t still be a debate.

if we had that ^^^ the last two seasons we have another national title, maybe two.

  3. whenever our offense stalls out, it’s never like, “oh no, arch is missing wide open receivers a turtling in the pocket and taking too many sacks”, it’s like, “holy shit our o line sucks, our receivers can’t catch, and sark has no idea what he’s doing.”

conversely, our offense this season doesn’t roll at all without arch playing a big part in that. it’s a stunning contrast to quinn ewers, who was surrounded by superior talent, who had a great o line in front of him, who constantly had a clean pocket to work with, yet who was erratic, and inaccurate, and who self-sacked like nobody i’ve ever seen. over the last two seasons, whenever our offense stalled out it was usually because quinn ewers was missing open receivers and creating sacks out of thin air. now we have a qb who has inferior talent all around him, who makes huge plays out of nothing, who has pocket presence like veteran pro, and who leads his team to scoring drives an wins.

we are at the point where anyone who still thinks that it’s even a conversation between quinn and arch is truly beyond reason.

I think it’s like a Derka thing, anybody who responds with a slightly contrasting point of view in their mind turns into an angry mob of people who are defending Quinn or sark.

i’ve been asking you people to cite something specific for years whenever you say this about me, and you never do. i tell you to call me out on it when you see me doing it, and you never do. because it doesn’t happen. it’s just something you repeat to get cool points. if you’re going to call someone out for something, at least cite a specific example of them doing that thing. it’s not 2009 anymore. hasn’t been for a while.

and this is where you always lose me. At this point in his career he isn't better than the guy that was here last year.

this is an insane take. better passer, higher iq, better athlete, incredible pocket presence vs terrible pocket presence, actual playmaker vs human folding chair, one guy who shrinks beneath the talent and production of everyone around him vs another guy who, as the best player and leader of his offense, lifts the play of everyone around him. it’s not even close. id entertain a debate about sam vs quinn, but arch is already beyond what QE ever was as a qb at Texas.

your cult like worship of quinn ewers has been duly noted, and your fanaticism at this point is unmatched. arch is going to get heisman votes this year. imagine what he could have done with any of quinn’s supporting casts.

how huge was that ethan burke tackle on that concepcion punt return? if burke doesn’t make that tackle we might lose this game. one thing throughout the night that had me geeked was that our effort was off the charts, especially in tackling. that’s one of those plays like the cedrick griffin hit stick pbu vs tosu that people will forget about, but that had massive implications on the game as well as our season. if we make the playoff, that tackle played a role in it.

god damn it, this iphone changed “cedric” to “cedrick”, so i changed it back, and apparently this dumb fucking thing changed his name back to “cedrick” again. that shit drives me nuts.

either colt or VY was the last qb we’ve had who could do this. we’ve been waiting 15+ years for this. thank god we didn’t listen to surly and send arch to the portal after week five of his first year as a starter. limitless future.
