  1. he’s a mark few disciple, he’s great at recruiting internationally, and he runs an exciting style that would pack the Moody center. He’s been near the top of the list ever since his first year at Arizona.
  2. if you think that ben mccollum is ready to out recruit, out coach, and out-program-build the likes of beard, barnes, pearl, oats, etc then i’ve got some ocean front property in the chisholm point trailer park to sell you.
  3. let’s just hire duncanville HS’s coach then, that guy wins all the time.
  4. ben mccollum runs what is literally the slowest offense in America: yeah let’s trot that out there for the next few years against our SEC foes as we completely rebuild the roster with a guy who has never even recruited at this level before. come on guys, this is ridiculous. ben mccollum went viral on twitter back in december and like three days later a bunch of y’all were/are up in here swearing up and down that he needs to be our next hire when you don’t even know anything about him other than a. idea you saw on twitter + his wiki page. this is a silly discussion.
  5. he’s not qualified for this job. he needs A LOT more HC experience at the D-1 level before we can have a clue as to whether or not he can handle recruiting, coaching, NIL, etc at this level. this shows us nothing: we've never even seen him build a roster before, he just brought all of his guys who’d already been playing together for multiple years. we cannot hire someone who’s never shown that he can do a single thing that we’re looking for from our next HC.
  6. sounds like a perfect fit for college station.
  7. well he’s inevitably going to be brought up so you might as well get used to it.
  8. he loses 9–10 regular season games every year. this is nothing new, especially with this roster.
  9. i was calling for mick cronin to replace shaka smart as far back as 2016 or 2017 when he was at cincy. that said, while he’s a very good coach, he’s as big of an asshole as rick barnes ever was without any of the charm or public tact. is he a great fit personality wise in austin? not really. but would be have Texas respectable and competitive in short order? yes, i believe he would.
  10. manny obaseki: 0.3/1.1 3PM (.263) on the season. he drains the three to beat ole miss on the road. SEC! SEC! SEC!
  11. i’ve seen multiple “publications” rank Texas as the no.1 team heading into next season and i feel like it’s 100% because of Arch, which is a wild level of expectation considering that we’ll be replacing the lion’s share of our offensive production, not to mention most of the o line.
  12. no secrets here. if we can find a way to win on the glass then we will win this game. if a&m is routinely allowed to have multiple looks at the basket then it’s going to be a typical sec struggle. i think that RT is gone at the end of this year regardless of what happens, so i have less than zero conflicting feelings when it comes to my desire to see us beat the aggies by 35 points. trust in CDC, and throttle a&m. always.
  13. grizzlies assistant is an offensive savant:
  14. it took us like 9 minutes to get a fg. i also distinctly remember shedrick hitting two ft in the 2H and i looked up and said, “those two fts just gave us 11 points for the half.” i just looked it up: those points came after the u8 timeout. so, zero FG for the first ~8-9 minutes of the 1H, and 9 points in the first 12 minutes of the 2H. these numbers accurately reflect how ugly the game was. and i’ll say this: if RT had the pre-Beard student sections then the arena would have been 25% full. that is without a doubt CB’s legacy at Texas: he created real deal student excitement and loyalty. without the students there last night the place would have been a mausoleum.
  15. i think he has the best natural vision on the team. AAMOF our best three man lineup features larry at the point:
  16. actually larry isn’t bad. i wish he’d get more minutes at the point. our starting five should probably be larry pope johnson kaluma kent weaver, mark, pryor, onyema to round out to rotation.
  17. also if anyone wants shaedon sharpe i will trade him for almost nothing, as i never win scoring and thus don’t need his services. i’m currently in the market for blocks.
  18. this is one of our better shooting teams in a long time, they just aren’t forced to take good shots, and as such, usually don’t. tre johnson is our best shooter since KD. truly. his shooting talent is unreal.
  19. this tennessee team is going to come back down to earth and regress to the mean, and people are going to call it a choke job, but ask yourself: just how good should this team be? la owe is the only guy with any chance of playing in the nba, and that’s as a role player. zeigler is their best player, and he’s a 5’8” college lifer who isn’t a great shooter. for as mediocre as he is in the tournament, rick barnes is seriously an amazing regular season coach. there’s a reason he’s going to retire with 900-1,000 wins and end up in the hall of fame. this year has been another inexplicably successful coaching job thus far.
