the number of times that our ball handler picks up his dribble only for all four of his teammates to just stand there sedentary as he looks for some help IS TOO DAMN HIGH.
we have a chance to make it a three point game at the line, we go 0-2. five seconds later uconn gets the patented “UT opponent absurd desperation heave” to swish in, followed five seconds later by another deep three. boom. ballgame.
i made the second post after they got their 10th point, but the two posts merged. thanks a lot obama.
holy shit what a rally. kinda feels like the winner of that rally will be the match winner. aggies up 12-10.
also the fact that i deadass created our saliba chant remains one of the coolest things of my life, and i demand that you all come to my funeral and burst out singing it at the most inopportune time.
i have a song for zubi that’s done to the tune of The Association’s “Windy”. i’ve never actually written permanent lyrics so they change a bit every time lol, but it’s more or less:
who’s coming down and setting the tempo
bossing the match with the greatest of ease
he left from spain to come to north london
it’s martin zubimendi!!!!!
lolol
the difference with gyorkores is undeniable. what’s tough right now is finding how to fit eze and odegaard together, as we did seem to be more dynamic and dangerous when odegaard was out and eze was playing his position. of course trossard was also starting then, as were saliba and gabriel and timber (😭😭😭), so it really is difficult to even say exactly why our attack is or isn’t better than it was a month ago. christ, we’re so injured that a post about how gyorkores opens up space for the wingers turned into a diatribe about our injury crisis. shit is inescapable.
we’re going to finish with our worst season/kenpom rating since 2017. it’s going to be ugly when it’s all said and done. there’s really no excuse in 2025 for a program like Texas to build a roster with no ball handlers, no facilitators, no shooters, and definitely no defenders. in fact i’d argue that in 2025, sean miller, at Texas, has less of an excuse then any of those other coaches to not field a team that at least looks like there was some thought and strategy put into the roster.
