  1. that shit drives me crazy, it’s everywhere these days. every HR highlight on twitter starts as the ball is leaving the pitchers hand, ie 0.5 seconds before it’s hit.
  2. i just now realized that chet holmgren was not an UDFA and that i was supposed to get him in round 12 or 13.
  3. all the more reason we can’t have our “heisman contender” qb playing like 3rd string true freshman who needs to make every throw within two seconds of the snap and within 5 yards of the LOS.
  4. kelvin banks hadn’t given up a sack all season and then he gives up his first one when quinn needlessly retreats to his own goal line under minimal rush against geogia. banks literally registered a pancake on the play, and yet his man sacked quinn as he inexplicably backpedaled right into the defender as he was laid out on the ground. it was like the billy madison “leg” scene. now compare that to the michigan game when QE was converting 3rd downs left and right by moving up in the pocket with his eyes downfield and hitting his 2nd and 3rd reads on target. we had zero sacks and zero TOs on that day. you cannot say that QE severely and obviously regressing hasn’t affected everyone around him.
  5. we also had something resembling a full playbook and a dynamic offense before QE went down and returned as a sacred, neutered version of himself pre-injury. it’s a lot easier to run the ball and to pass black when the defense doesn’t know what’s coming.
  6. our QB play was acceptable only because 3 out of every 4 passes were less than 10 yards downfield. when the entire defense isn’t worried about the QB hurting them or even trying to throw the ball more than a few yards downfield, that has a trickle down effect that hurts everyone else around him. the OL and running game looked just fine before quinn got hurt and turned into a guy who plays like a 3rd stringer who’s just trying not to turn the ball over. ever since QE returned as a gun shy insta-thrower who’s scared to be hit those units have been bad too. coincidence? i really don’t think so.
  7. it’s the context of his rep that is interesting, not the rep itself. again, it’s essentially thatguy vs the world in this thread, and yet his posts consistently get more rep than any others. i find that interesting.
  8. freshman colt mccoy > redshirt junior quinn ewers. that’s so wildly unacceptable that i really can’t believe how many people here are so staunchly in support of quinn.
  9. also there has been zero shortage of substantive facts, video, data, and well informed opinions posted here which say that QE is being treated like/playing like a true freshman QB who got forced into action after multiple injuries in front of of him, as opposed to a supposed heisman favorite in his third year playing for a guy who’s entire MO is coaching/making elite QBs. this ain’t some blind hatred for QE, the guy is factually subpar and we’ve got the data to prove it all over this thread.
  10. that’s one post. thatguy has countless word salad posts which all have one theme in common: “none of this is quinn ewers’ fault”. all of those posts are heavily repped as well. it’s interesting how many lurkers there are who can’t get enough of that message.
  11. 99% of the thread agrees about QE, down to the very nuts and bolts of what’s wrong with him. the one person who is on the other side of the argument (Thatguy) has more pos rep in this thread than anyone. no additional comment, just an observation that you can make of what you will.
  12. one of the kids on the butterfinger bites: ”it’s like a rock, covered in chocolate…and then more rock.”
  13. connor williams isn’t going to have a job tomorrow. snapped the ball about 25 yards over geno’s head, then later on 4th and goal he stepped on Geno’s foot and effectively sacked him. it’s still the 1Q.
  14. i so beyond sick of martinelli having a fucked up first touch that leads to an instant counter attack goal. i’m done with martinelli. get him the fuck out of there.
  15. vvd puts his studs into kai’s leg (twice) and he doesn’t even get a booking. can’t wait until trossard gets a yellow for looking at someone wrong.
  16. it would be easier to run the ball if our qb was a threat to run, or even better, stand in the pocket, make his progressions, and throw the ball downfield. also we averaged 4.6 yards per carry today against a defense that had no worries about us throwing the ball downfield field. being that our backup is both a deep threat qb and a great athlete who can run, it makes sense that people want to see him playing.
