  1. that’s four straight years in the top 10, five out of the last seven. no reason we should aim for less just because few is 62.
  2. 62 isn’t that old anymore. plenty of guys are coaching well into their 70’s these days. rick barnes was 61 when he took over at Tennessee and not only has it worked out extremely well, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down. no reason to think few couldn’t do the same, or even better, here at Texas.

  4. rebuilds don’t take more than 1-2 seasons these days. a coach like that at a school like this could easily be in the S16 in year two.
  5. i’m gonna point out that i’m not talking to myself here. i’m allowed to respond to other posts in this thread, particularly the ones aimed at me. this post being a great example of that.
  6. right, because being irked that he risked a needless injury = “shitting on him”. thank you for proving my “he could shoot himself in the head and you’d be upset if someone said it was a bad idea” point.
  7. it’s cute how mad you are at me.
  8. he fooled a bunch of us into thinking he was coming back.
  9. i just now went and checked- drake wins OT 9-1. that’s my no.1 pet peeve in basketball. tie game, you get the last shot with plenty of time to run some specific sets or actions, and instead you get zero passes, the ball never goes inside the 3-pt line, and someone just takes some dumbass, pull up, fade away three for zero reason whatsoever. it’s maddening.
  10. lower case users unite!
  11. go ahead and type as much as i do on your iphone for the next week and then come back here and tell me how important it is to you to capitalize everything, when ignoring that feature altogether makes no difference in the first place.
  12. bo ogden hits the buzzer beater to win the state title for st.michaels:
  13. i could have sworn norton said he was returning to Texas.
  14. yeah, i’ve said this all year and ain’t shit changed: this is a top 25/S16 roster with a better coach. i’d venture to say that our roster is superior to those of arkansas, uga, vandy, miss st, ole miss, and a&m. this team is wildly inferior to the sum of its parts. this team should be favored seed, tourney shoo-in. we’re so far from being what we should be it’s crazy. tre might be the only one on the team living up to his own potential. total waste of talent and good players. this roster is not at all far off from the one that was no.1 in kenpom and went to the E8 a couple of years ago. very similar talent wise. we’ve just wasted it.
  15. holy shit, i just now saw the will howard throwing session. i don’t think i’ve ever seen a worse performance from a qb at the combine.
  16. dear 8 lb, 6 oz baby jesus, please make this so:
  17. kid for drake hits the second ft to tie the game, and then *shocker*, mo state lazily brings the ball up with 8 seconds left, wastes all the time, and then jacks up a terrible 3. why does every team do this? shit drives me crazy.
  18. 83% ft shooter goes 1-2 for mo state. now a drake player who’s 1-4 from the line today has two fts. he sinks the first, and cuonzo martin (!!!) calls TO to try and ice him.
  19. drake down one to mo state with 25 seconds left. mo state just turned the ball over, drake can hold for the final shot if they want to. oh wow, mo state keeps the ball after a review. bad call.
  20. if i had USAA i would cancel my life insurance. that’s how much i hate their commercials.
  21. we certainly hope so, but you don’t know that. the absolute best case scenario for him was performing shittily while exacerbating what looks like a pretty serious ankle sprain. that was the best case scenario. the worst case scenario is that he turns a sprain into a tear that requires surgery, causing him to go undrafted and possibly never play a single down in the nfl. that’s the range of outcomes for him. as it is, i have a tough time seeing him being 100% at UT’s pro day after purposely making his own injury worse. but hey, at least he looked super cool and tough at the scouting combine. totally worth it.
  22. lol, it’s funny how you keep trying to make this idiotic decision into some sort of badass show of toughness by gunnar. if “handling his business differently than me” means injuring himself and then performing poorly while further injuring himself before the draft even happens, possibly to the point where he’s still injured at UT’s pro day, then yeah, he and i do business differently. i swear to god, a UT football player could shoot himself in the head and if people here criticized it some of you would still be upset about it. he did a dumb thing. its ok to admit that. these are kids who play college football, they are not gods. it’s ok to criticize them when they perform poorly or make bad decisions. this is d’onta foreman buying maseratis and sipping lean before the draft all over again. some of y’all will just blindly defend every UT player no matter what. it’s wild.
  23. why risk further injuring yourself before the draft has even happened? you can call it having guts, i call it objectively stupid. it’s one thing to play through the pain, but it’s an entirely different thing to knowingly further injure yourself (while putting up subpar times, no doubt in part due to the injury) as you try and convince nfl teams that they should draft you. what if the sprain turns into a tear after you just ran slow as shit? now you’re flirting with being an UDFA, and for what? that was a dumb move on gunnar’s part.
  24. i’d be thrilled with a mark few hiring.
