we got the exact same score using nine (eighteen) different players. also, i’ve never seen anyone get a 0.000000%. i think you’re the only one who chose bob patterson lol.

  4. the wild thing about the asu win is that if bert auburn hits a chip shot FG at the end of regulation then that game ends with quinn being the goat (in the pejorative) and with his Texas career ending with back to back poor playoff games on the heels of a season where he routinely struggled to move the chains after half time. that bert auburn missed FG was huge for QE’s legacy in the immediate aftermath. years from now i doubt it means as much, but it would be damn hard to justify any of this “is quinn our 3rd or 4th best ever QB?” talk if QE doesn’t get those final two scores vs ASU.
  5. first, your entire post is a perfect recap of the applewhite-sims era. you covered everything. second, that lsu staff is the GOAT college football staff. saban as HC, jimbo as OC, Muschamp as DC, and Kirby Smart on ST. it is a testament to our talent that we were able to dominate that game with mack and GDGD running the show.
  6. PGMOL has backed michael oliver and upheld his call on MLS which will lead to MLS missing games against man city and michael oliver’s beloved newcastle. their reasoning is the latest instance of an absolutely brand new rule that’s only just now been invented especially for arsenal, as according to the PGMOL anything above the ankle is an automatic red. right. r/gunners is currently overflowing with pictures, videos, and highlight reels of arsenal players getting spikes to the shin with either only a yellow or no call. we are witnessing corruption. it’s fucked.
  7. ok i give up on trying to make this work lol
  8. reportedly Vince was so moved when he found out the nets were retiring his jersey he could barley speak. all he could say was, “who?”.
  9. cam newton is on record as saying that vince young is the GOAT, so.
  10. besides which, the stats argument is a weak one. for one texas doesn’t exactly have an illustrious list of downfield passers, and wasn’t exactly at the forefront of adopting the forward pass as a pillar of its offense. second, and more importantly, quinn ewers played for sark while colt and VY played for mack and GD. you let VY and Colt play for Sark and watch QE play for mack “scared to death” brown and you’ll really see the gulf in class between these qbs. stats tell often tell incomplete stories or even flat out lies. this isn’t about stats on a page, it’s about performance. no shit QE has more passing yards and TDs than guys who played 20, 40, 60 years ago. those guys also happened to be alpha players on alpha teams, and they routinely took over games and led their teams to victories on the back of their play making and leadership. quinn ewers didn’t do that. his teammates did. his teammates who won thorpe, and outland, and lombardi, and doak walker trophies, and all american accolades, and national player of the year awards- those guys led the way while QE struggled to move the chains and score points despite his outstanding surrounding cast. again, i’ve never seen one guy get more obviously undue credit for his team’s success than quinn ewers. the fact that so many people think that he’s some sort of legend or even in the mount rushmore discussion is just baffling.
  11. really interesting matchup. strength vs strength and weakness vs weakness. the place will be rocking as well. should be a good game for the national tv audience. a loss here doesn’t hurt too much but a win is massive. let’s go. 🤘🏼 kenpom has ole miss winning 73-67.
  12. this Texas team reminds me of our Tom Penders teams, not in terms of style, but in that we will be (i’m guessing) a 7-10 seed that you don’t want to face on the first weekend. if Tre Johnson goes off there’s very few teams we can’t beat, and with the fact that we have legit 3-4 guys who can go off for an efficient 20+ on any given night, we could be a mediocre regular season team that’s a dangerous tourney team. fwiw i see us as the inverse of tennessee, a very good regular season team that will get a high seed and then potentially lose early if lanier has an off day or if zeigler gets in foul trouble. imagine if we get a rematch with them in a 2 vs 10 (or 7!) game. wow. the drama would be through the roof. i don’t know if my heart could handle it lol. but that would be the exact type of scenario that could see tennessee go home early/Texas go to the S16.

    Tre Johnson

tre johnson is legitimately up there with kevin durant and jim krivacs as the best shooters in Texas history. his shot mechanics are damn near flawless, and with his height, length, and athleticism he can get his shot from anywhere. it sucks for us fans that we won’t get to watch him develop into a NPOY candidate over 2-3 years, but assuming he gets the proper coaching and continues to grow, he is going to be in the NBA for the next 15 years to come. he’s a seriously special player, the kind that truly doesn’t come along often. i’m going to really appreciate watching him as long as he’s here.
  14. actually it was a norm impression: (specific joke starts at 2:42)
  15. this team should not be this good. rick barnes is an outstanding college basketball coach. he’s got nowhere near one of the best rosters in america, but his team is one of the very best, even with injury and transfer issues. i thought they’d get blown out tonight, but instead they held the best offense in the country to 53 points and very nearly won. he’s done this for more three decades now, taking lowly rated recruits and creating teams which are far greater than the sum of their parts. i honestly don’t know how he does it.
  16. if texas and ole miss swapped rosters then ole miss is in the top 10 and texas is winless in conference play.
  17. johni broome just deliberately fouled okpara in what seemed to be a purposeful attempt to send him tot the line, and the officials called a travel on okpara. that is insane officiating. and now jordan gainey has fouled out on the ensuing auburn possession. unreal.
  18. their worst loss is to #41 memphis and they have at least four good wins. their roster doesn’t look like much, but i don’t think anyone thinks super highly of ole miss or is overrating them. they’re a low second tier/high third tier sec team. i don’t see anyone saying anything different.
