  1. from one of my old posts about that game: we win that game 95 times out of 100.
  2. i wonder if we will give will wade a look now that paying players is legal. his resume is the exact kind that you’re looking for when filling a vacancy like this one. •jumped chattanooga up 163 spots from the previous year in his first year in charge. got hired by VCU after just two seasons. •won the A10 and a tourney game in his first year at VCU. was hired by LSU after just two years at VCU. •kenpom finishes at LSU: 66, 19, 37, 24, 21 his first four teams were elite offensively: 33rd, 12th, 4th, and 5th nationally in ORtg his fifth team finished 6th in DRtg •30-4 in first year at McNeese with a team that was 9th in the country in 3-point shooting and 6th in the country in forcing turnovers. THAT is the type of resume that Texas should be going after. not a guy with four months of d-1 experience, not a guy with 10 totally unremarkable years at fresno state and utep- no. a guy who’s young enough to stick around for two decades but proven enough to unarguably warrant his hiring and the optimism that comes with it. will we actually go after will wade? i very seriously doubt it. but i love his resume, and it should be used as a template for the kind of coach we should be hiring at Texas.
  3. i remember people here dissing cooper flagg last summer and fall. probably the same people who said zion would be the fourth best player on his duke team.
  4. lol no. lamar jackson in josh allen’s body. 30-2 despite being saddled with Mack and GDGD and zero pro wr’s. the two greatest rose bowl performances this century, possibly all time. led the nation in 4Q comeback wins. never got tired. never got phased. never seemed to even feel a modicum of pressure. biggest drive in ncaa football history and he walks into the the huddle and says, “let your nuts hang, bitches” before calmly leading Texas to a win in the greatest game ever played. there has STILL never been a football player at any position with VY’s combo of size, speed, and agility. not brock bowers, not khalil mack, not josh allen- nobody. VY is 1 of 1. we will never see anyone like him again.
  5. nah, that was just the absolute worst matchup possible. we’d just waxed the lopez twins stanford team by 20 in the S16 and would have been much more competitive against any other team in the tourney. our three-midget back court vs a backcourt whose smallest guard by far was derrick rose was simply the worst matchup possible.
  6. VY is the actual beast and greatest college football player ever. Colt could have gotten as close as anyone else could have with a win over Bama, but no one will ever pass VY.
  7. there needs to be a law (punishable by fine) for brevity and clarity when it comes to reporters asking questions. typical example: ”jim, obviously you guys had the quick turn around, coming off a couple of back to backs last week, this part of the schedule this time of year and with the weather delays, travel has obviously been a concern, wanna talk about, er, ask, for you guys, going into a series like this knowing that you’ve got the sharks and the jets coming up, just wanna get your thoughts on-“ MOTHERFUCKER DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION IN THERE SOMEWHERE?!?! jesus christ that shit drives me crazy.
  8. quinn ewers has eligibility left AND WE DO NOT WANT HIM BACK!! Texas fans, coaches, and potential transfers and recruits DO NOT WANT QUINN BACK!! and yet we are seriously in here talking about him being better than Colt McCoy? talking about him being on our mount rushmore? talking about putting him into the hall of honor? this a cult-like following, plain and simple. he’s not a great passer (he’s not even consistently ‘good’), he’s got zero mobility, zero pocket presence, only thrives on screens and one-read throws, and he struggled to move the ball and score points against mediocre competition all year and we have people here literally comparing him to Colt and VY. calling this total disappointment of a player an all time Texas legend. that’s cult stuff. it’s so weird.
  9. swap colt for QE these last two years and Texas is undefeated and back to back national champions, swap QE with colt or VY and mack gets fired like 7-8 years earlier than he did. fun experiment.
  10. there is a 0.0% chance that we enshrine quinn ewers for his super mediocre, underachieving career as QB at Texas.
  11. wild past 24 hours lol
  12. if you have youtube tv your series recording of the challenge is no good. you’ll have to go set up a new recording as all stars is considered a totally different series.
  13. yeah i do not like this tennessee team in the tourney. i’d be very surprised if they made the second weekend.
  14. off the top of my head, i guess i would go: CB: Westbrook CB: Jammer S1: Gray S2: Huff Nickel: ET leaving the 2-deep looking like: CB: Jahdae CB: Ross S1: Cade S2: Vasher Nickel: ced griffin that’s without mentioning stanley richard, tarrell brown, chris carter, michael griffin, craig curry, taje allen, aaron williams, or any of the 7 former UT DB’s who are currently in the NFL. Texas is and always has been DBU.
  15. we have been DBU since 1983 and at no point since then has that ever changed. good luck choosing your starting five from (among others) jerry gray, mossy cade, bryant westbrook, michael huff, aaron ross, quentin jammer, earl thomas, cedric griffin, jahdae barron, nathan vasher, and so on and so forth. we have an embarrassment of riches all time at that position.
  16. they’ve been playing over their heads all year. it’s what he does. they have no nba talent, their best player is a midget who can’t shoot, they have no depth, and it’s basically a roster full of role players, and yet he had them at no.1 for a month, has them currently at 17-4, and they’re probably the best defensive team in america. rick barnes’s entire reputation is based on people who either never watch his teams and know nothing about them, or who do watch and don’t understand why/how a roster that isn’t that great to begin with starts losing more games in conference play. i’ve been saying all season that i can’t believe they’ve won as much as they have. our roster >> tennessee’s roster.
  17. 11-44 from deep for tennessee, and it feels like virtually none of them were contested.
  18. this is why tennessee has to play with a lead. they’ve missed what has to be 15+ wide open, in-rhythm threes. milicic is 4-7, the rest of the team is 6-31 including 1-9 from zeigler and 2-8 from lanier.
  19. coby white- out jalen johnson- out bobby portis- out tari eason- out KD- day to day nembhard- day to day jacquez- day to day jimmy butler- suspended indefinitely jusuf nurkic- frozen out
  20. Jimmy Butler is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.
  21. kentucky up 55-44 with 11:51 left. playing from behind not tennessee’s strong suit.
  22. zeigler back for the 2H. hallelujah. he deserves a healthy finish to his college career.
  23. adults using kid slang is never funny and beyond unoriginal. any companies who pays someone to make an ad where parents use kid slang is no company i want to do business with. lazy, played out, not funny.
  24. wow, 11-0 tennessee run after zeigler hyperedtends his knee and heads to the locker room. what a response. tennessee takes their first lead.
