We jumped out to big leads but lost. Would it be better if we got our shit stomped?

This is something people need to grapple with, there is no better type of loss than this. LOSING SUCKS

If we jump out to a big lead, well at least we can fucking get a lead at some point. There is no type of 3-loss starting half to the season where we think, "Oh hell yeah those were awesome losses!"

    They all suck. This sucks.

What is making some people freak the fuck out is how they felt in their personal emotions as the losses played out. If OU gets an early 40-point lead and we claw back to within 10 points is that actually better than what happened? Hell no.

He can't wait for guys to develop.  He needs to hit the portal now with some bags asap.  He doesn't have time for Max Merril to be in his 7th year and all grown up.  He better get an OL next year or he gone.  Jaydon Blue isn't Bijan.  The window for Sark is narrow and it just dropped lower with the last 2 choke jobs.  He needs 5 OL and he needs to process the guys who can't cut it.  Time is ticking.

    I see you.

There is physical talent on the OL. There are higher ceilings to be reached with the existing players. Get 2 hungry guys from the portal who can push up the expectations of the line and some of the existing guys will rise to the challenge. That's what good program management can do.

But it's definitely true that neither recruiting 2022 OL studs nor just sitting pat with our current OL room will change our fate for the next 2 seasons. We need some new blood.

I’m not furious and that emotion doesn’t even tie to despair. No shit humans are terrible predictors of the future. Given your posting proclivities, it’s ironic to see you type as much though.

The first three words + the last sentence of this quote are a hilarious combo. All I've said to you is that you need to calm down because your negative emotions are feeding off of a self-delusion you can drop and you're out here trying to swing haymakers at me.

Calm down. Get a hold of yourself.

Before the season, I thought this staff looked as good as any we’ve seen in a long time. If you’re willing to sit here and tell the board that witnessing this defense hasn’t altered your outlook on Kwiatkowski’s capabilities, then, wow. What we’ve seen should have dented some expectations in Sarkisian as well.

What was my outlook on Coach K? Who are you even talking to?

Rattler was a stud QB that was leading OU to the promise land. So was Murray and Mafield and Hurts. Now it’s a freshman. It ain’t happening in 2021, dude. The OU QB is dead. Long live the OU QB. Rinse and repeat.

    Are you OK?

I’m in no way cheering against the guy. It’s just more despondence and feeling like the next 3.5 seasons are a predictable inevitability.

Again, you need to have a lot less faith in your predictive capabilities. That's not even an insult, it's just an observation that we're a bunch of jackasses who don't actually have prescience and some of us are way more emotional than others.

If you allowed yourself the ability to doubt your own assumptions you wouldn't feel so despondent and, as a result, you wouldn't feel the need to be so fucking furious.

To add, he’s been in a college S&C program and won’t be as much of a project as a true freshmen.

There's probably a lot to be said for the amount of growing up that happens in that first 3-6 months of enrolling at a university and starting S&C/football.

I've got a few buddies who are way better husbands the second time around.

These are not amazing teams. Texas should be at least 1-2 against those 3 juggernauts. The rest of the schedule is also mehness and not some group of worldbeaters that will outtalent UT on the field.

So these thousands and thousands of words of hostile doomsaying are all because we're 1 game off what you would consider a reasonable expectation?

    lol

I don’t know what you think you’re accomplishing with nonsense about national championships in relation to anything I’ve typed as an expectation.

What was a reasonable expectation of a first-year coach taking over for Herman coming into a Top-10-difficulty schedule?

I'll leave everything else in the vain hope you'll actually answer a question.

You and the rest of the sunshine pumpers can choose to find your glimmers of hope and sell them to each other. Me? I’ll care less and less and wait patiently and hope the next guy doesn’t suck as bad as the last 3.5 guys.

Your need to create categories "sunshine pumpers" is what drives your "analysis", not reason. Further evidenced by not being able to address basic questions about your assertions, instead flying into entirely new ones. We got our asses spanked by Arkansas and failed to hold off the late-game surges of two undefeated teams. Outcoached? Definitely, but this "Sark is a proven failure now" horeshit is melodrama.

Odds are always on the side of predicting failure when the only condition of success is undefeated national championship seasons.

Also, you don't actually believe you're going to wait patiently or dispassionately. That violates the gimmick.

You can't tell me it's not a culture issue.

I don't think anyone disagrees with this. I think the main disagreement is what solving that looks like.

    Personally, I think it's a simple-but-difficult fix: Competition.

One of the things that made me very excited about Urban was how he seems to treat everything like a competition. Punishing complacency will be very important, maybe even more important than rewarding effort. I hope we see that kind of thing.

Sark's post-game sounded good to me. I think he knows there is laziness and rot. Now we have to wait and see if he fixes it.

In aggy’s last five years in the Big 12, they were:

    7-6
    4-8
    6-7
    9-4
    7-6

Their first year in the SEC, they went 11-2, and haven’t had a losing season since.

If those idiots can do it, so can we.

    100% this

    2016: 5-7
    2017: 7-6
    2018: 10-4
    2019: 8-5
    2020: 7-3
2021: probably something like 8-5 again

Ugly and not what we want, but come on.

If we recruit well in the 2023 class and show improvement in 2022, be happy. 10 wins in 2022 with improvement in focus, execution, and S&C would be a huge victory.

I said before the season that the schedule was weak enough and there was enough talent for us to expect a 10 win season with a 13 or 14 game schedule. I think I reiterated that that should be expected earlier this week. Otherwise, the guy is Seven Win Steve, which it looks like he is at this point.

Name your price and I will meet you on the other side of the bet below 7.5. I assume this is regular season? 4 out of the next 5 is pretty fucking comical from my perspective.

Well as someone who prognosticated 10 wins based on this talent, maybe you should be less confident in your perspective.

What even is "talent"? A potential proficiency? How much of it is physical? What is the actual difference between a low 4-star and high 3-star in "talent"?

Also, what is this "schedule was weak enough" shit? Where we are right now we have played the toughest schedule in the conference with OU 5 places behind us and KSU 9 places behind them.

I'm not even saying you should be better at predicting and prognosticating, but your certainty is unearned.

  12. In terms of "I'm going to kick your fucking ass or die trying", rich and poor/black and white don't factor in. There are plenty of kids from the hood who are bitchmade quitters and plenty of rich suburban boys who will punch your teeth in.

The issue isn't recruiting from Westlake. We can win a national championship with only guys from rich neighborhoods. The issue is what happens to them once they get to Austin.

Austin is a fun town. People WANT to be in Austin. You're not moving to Stillwater or Norman or Athens or Tuscaloosa or Clemson or Auburn to be part of a vibrant social scene, cultural movement, live music, clubs, bars, food, and booming economic development. You go there to PLAY FOOTBALL and you aren't trying to stay there. You're actively trying to leave and you know the best road out comes to through being a dog on the field.

I think there's a good chance of it. Baylor seems pretty good this year and their RB is averaging like 8 ypc. Bad matchup.

Tbh though, I don't really think 7 win Steve nickname is fair. At UW he won 5 games, 7, 7, 7 and 8 (excluding bowl game which they won without him). His only year at USC he won 9. So yeah he had three 7-win seasons on the way to taking a winless program to 9 wins (isn't that pretty good?), but then had 9 wins in his only year at a power program.

he sucks he's terrible. didn't even with a natty at Washington. What a scrub. Garbage.

So you are saying football in the state of Texas is the fraud?  A lot of the players on this team were 4 star or above ranked players.  I bet Gary Patterson, Gundy, Riley, Rhule, Briles, etc could find a way to make these punks man up and play up to their ranking.  I think the soft culture at Texas is the entire problem...A lot of the players they get look better as raw freshman than they do after they have been in the program a couple of years...Something is turning them into panty waists here.  Figure out what that is, get rid of it, and a lot of problems will be solved...

Both of the bolded portions, far moreso than we want to admit.

Many of the things we love about Austin and UT are huge liabilities to instilling a sense of dog toughness. That's not going to change too much, and it can be managed well by someone who finds a groove. I hope Sark turns into that guy.

Yes, now explain. I don't see guys overlooking the game for the NFL. I see guys out of shape and poorly trained to execute on the field. For that I blame Sark and Tom Herman

I guess you could realize coaching has screwed us in the last 2 games.

The coaching has not been good enough to win. 100% I realize that.

now what? What's the next step for me as a nobody on the Internet? Throw a fit?

Along with the general team attitude that they don'f really care if we win because they are headed to the NFL (which outside of Bijan isn't happening for anyone else)

So you are accepting it?  Exhibit number 1 with what's wrong.

What does it mean to "accept" it? I have no power to accept or reject. I can only see what is in front of me that I watch either on TV/computer or in person.

It sucks. I hate it. I wish we were back in Mack's heyday with Vince doing Vince things.

If I POST REALLY MAD does that mean I'm pure?
