  1. Comparing Akina and Larry Johnson's resumes is some really pedantic shit. Both are stellar. Heard Burton and Babers talking about Akina. He had put over 40 players in the league by 2022. There was apparently a 10-year stretch when every starter at corner under Akina played in the NFL. Some of the very best DBs I've ever seen at Texas were coached by this guy. Yes, he's 68. Speaking of Larry Johnson, that dude is still doing it at 73. Texas' staff is going to change a lot going forward. Hiring a coach who is going to be here long-term would be great, but it's just not going to happen all the time. Akina can still coach. We don't need a coach for the next ten years. We need one now. Because we are in a championship window. Now.
  2. Jason Burleson. I was really excited to receive a subscription to Robert Heard's Inside Texas newsletter (an actual snail mail, paper newsletter about UT sports) for my birthday back in 1987 or 1988. Heard talked Burleson up something fierce. Listed him at 6'7", explained how that height was going to produce a QB the likes of which the world had never seen. Pretty sure he ended up at TE and never really did much.
  3. First time beating a ranked team since 2003. They played at Globe Life because of the weather. Those boys were super jacked about the whole experience.
  4. Why anyone would want to be a part of the Cowboys' organization in any capacity is beyond me. Intentional mediocrity. As long as they're on the front page and worth the most money, they don't give a shit.
  5. Conversely, the sane voice in a sea of crazy people might look like the crazy one
  6. Nah, I like it. It’s announcing to the world that they are going pro even if it’s their only option. Lots of high school players and their parents might not know. And keeps us front and center. Keep them coming.
  7. Based on Helobius’ recent assessment, KJ Lacey will be our first Heisman winner at QB
  8. Drives me crazy that their punter got hurt and we STILL weren't looking for the fake. Felt the same way about the last play. They send in Beck with a broken arm and we STILL couldn't stop that run up the gut.
  9. The best part of this is that they really believe that they ever held this sort of leverage.
  10. Maybe because they didn’t call Elko for delay of game during his sweaty endless diatribe
  11. Watched with my (almost) grown kids last night. At one point Elko lifted his hat up and my daughter said, ”Holy crap what happened to his hairline?” Son responded immediately, “He ate it!” 🤘🏼
  12. None of them, if they aren’t recruited and don’t commit and/or sign.
  13. Maybe some from those areas but I’m mostly talking about the more affluent portions of Northside and Northeast ISD inside 1604.
  14. There's a lot of white flight from north and northeast San Antonio towards NB and Boerne and all points in between. And a whole lot of the people I know are moving/have moved into this belt at least in part because of its social and political conservatism. The whole area has been red for as long as I've been around it (~35 years). German Americans and others frequently fall into that category of R's that despise Trump but don't have the moxy to jump ship.
  15. He prefers Bush’s too
