  1. I’m up in the air on this dude. I hated it when the Cowboys got him. I don’t think they needed him, and I think it that it was nothing more than Jerry Jones hubris that brought him to Dallas. After a few more years of that, I’m no longer a Dallas fan. Hell, I feel sorry for Cowboys fans. They have an owner who wants to make a lot of money and be on the front page, but he doesn’t really give a shit about winning it all since he’s done that before. I thought Deion was a pussy in the run game. When it got tough. He was real good at what he did: cover and make big plays on defense and special teams. He was a highlight video. But man, when it was him, mano y mano against some really big dudes, he pussed out. I know. Nice story bro. Prime Academy showed some more of the same for me. All flash, little substance. I would be more impressed with the dude if he had stayed at a HBCU and turned things upside down. It would have felt more genuine to me. Deion is real good at what he does: self promote. And to be fair, that extends to his kids. I can’t blame him, I promote my kids all the time. I don’t think it’s going to work, in the end. It might be pervasive racism, it might be just the “system” holding him down. He’s trying to be a change agent, but having watched him as a player I just don’t think he has the fundamental toughness to get it done. It’s good that he’s doing what he’s doing though. Maybe it’ll make it easier on the next dude.
  2. I am not a Deion expert or hater by any means, but Prime Academy was certainly an example of results in the wrong direction. The dude is entertaining as hell though.
  3. Really? It’ll be a relief, as others have said, to play against more than one team (OU) on the schedule who doesn’t 1) take advantage of the money that we bring to the conference (and then light on fire, which would be more fun than donating it to you fuckers), and 2) then bitch and moan 24/7, 365 about how we want to run things. In the immortal words of Tex, “Goodbye and good luck.” Still like you, slorch. Along with most raider fans. Wish it was a different world, but it’s not.
  4. “Brand”. No.
  5. You make a decent argument on the big three sports, but that’s about it. In terms of brand and overall athletic department success, Florida is not our equal. No one is.
  6. I can still remember Inside Texas newsletter proclaiming that Rink was as good or better than his teammate, Sam Adams. Adams went to aggy and eventually the NFL. Rink not so much.
  7. Clint Haney wasn’t enough for you?
  8. I’m curious about recruiting dynamics for aggy this year. Last year they brought a jihad upon themselves by breaking the mold on paying players, by Jimbo’s running his mouth on Saban and NIL denials, etc Is the jihad over? Or is this still going on?
  9. Kevin Watler, Jim Bob Evans, and Doug Livingston still just doing their thing.
  10. I am, admittedly. In that segment the guy is saying that military hospitals in Germany won’t admit guys wounded in Ukraine. I get it, it just sucks.
  11. https://podcast.silverado.org/episodes/interview-this-american-spent-10-months-fighting-in-ukraine Posted by Schulz2.0 above. This is a pretty decent listen. The portion towards the end about the difficulty in getting medical treatment for Americans wounded in Ukraine is infuriating. I can understand (but not agree with) withholding certain weapon systems from Ukraine for fear of escalation. I can’t understand not treating vets who are wounded in Ukraine. There’s no way that leads to any sort of escalation. It’s bullshit red tape and anyone responsible is the very worst sort of pussy.
  12. It was a very good interview. The same pastor said, at the end (paraphrasing) "I'm not going to watch it, and I hope that people stop seeing black death as theatre." Made me think. I'm still thinking about that statement.
  13. Yeah. Old school lunch pail type. And so well spoken.
  14. What happens to a team’s APR with all of the transfers? I mean, if aggy loses 25% of their eligible roster to the portal/draft, that has to sting, right?
  15. Fleeing armies have taken tons of casualties in warfare throughout history. Mobile elements (cavalry, armor) tip scales in favor of the victor and then are in prime position to follow up and cut down people running away. There are a few times where feigning retreat or withdrawal has led to dramatic victory (Austerlitz), but those are the exceptions.
  16. Obviously I’m not gonna convince anyone on Mike Adams. And agree that Shipley and Quan are the best duo we’ve seen. Adams was good. Very good. Still in an era where offenses aren’t what they are now. 3000+ career yards, and he was an important player for us, program-wise. Blue chip recruit at WR, with blue chip results. Pinckney could have been better. I know David Thomas wasn’t a WR, but holy shit that guy was a tremendous pass catcher.
  17. I’d throw Mike Adams in there ahead of X, but it’s close.
  18. There's always an uncle
  19. Wins are what matters. It happens a lot with teams that have talent stacked up.
  20. NB hammered them in the second half. Dominated the box score, had more turnovers that Ryan, too. Ryan had two missed PATs they’ll point to, but they’ll probably leave out the 14 and 17 play drives that NB ran down their throats.
  21. That's in front of the fightin' Texum Bulldog College of Dentistry
  22. He played that snapper full time tho
