  1. the folks over on the hobbies/2025 golf thread might have some thoughts as well. If i weren't an old, I could prolly figure out how to link it to here. sorry. Hook 'em!
  2. very cool. maybe a little creepy. so, I guess what I'm saying is it's perfect.
  3. I keep seeing screenshots of comments from the Swiftee over there. That has to be one of us...
  4. Dang, i think I'm keeping up, then realize I am several pages behind on this thread. Looks like i have a few of these.
  5. Thanks for starting this thread. Many of the comments are reminders we often have similar goals and concerns even though we don't talk much about them with people around us because...who knows why... maybe people don't want to admit they are having issues, or they don't want to sound like they are bragging, etc. Anyway, the comments about grinding it out for awhile resonate with me. So, I'm personally trying to change my mindset on that and, in 2025, view my situation more as an opportunity to continue in a pretty dang good situation, with ability to help others along the way. Financially, I agree with others that I need to reel in expenses and prepare mentally for retired life, still a few years away. Also, I plan to sell off some assets I hardly ever use so I can invest the proceeds and reduce maintenance expenses. Keep up the great work, my fellow Surls! Happy New Year and hook 'em!
  6. Maybe it wasn't pretty, but I am still gonna enjoy a victory beverage. Hook 'em!
  7. My favorite part of all that is it's a Swiftee droppin' knowledge on them about their football program
  8. I think the area from the Islands Club north to the Ritz might be a good bet as far as the beach itself, but you probably have to bring your own chairs, etc. Just a guess but I assume all the umbrellas and chairs by the hotels and condos are for hotel and condo guests only. There are several paths from west bay road to the beach that have signs for public access, so presumably plenty of people are on the beach that aren't staying at the hotels and condos there. Edit: please keep in mind i was there last week for the first time in nearly 40 years, so people upthread are way more knowledgeable than me on this topic.
  9. Due to holidays, I haven't been able to give full report. Sorry! If you get over to seven mile beach area, we liked blue calypso for dinner, and Palm Heights has some good food at Tillie's and the Coconut Club bar. We also liked the day on the water with Cobalt charter as mentioned earlier in the thread. And Ms. Pipers was great food, although Friday night was super loud with movie/concert in the background.
  10. As a longtime lurker and having little worthwhile to contribute, I will just say thanks to everyone on this thread for learning me up on watches. I am starting to get hooked. Just got a Nomos for Christmas. Thanks again for the info and suggestions. Hope y'all have a great holiday. Hook 'em!
  11. Was at Rum Point for late lunch yesterday. Pizza and drinks were great.
  12. Not necessarily...but you get what you pay for
  13. Tried this method today. Did not disappoint. Thanks!
