  1. Caught Iran supplying the Houthis a few days ago USCENTCOM Seizes Iranian Advanced Conventional Weapons Bound for Houthis On 11 January 2024, while conducting a flag verification, U.S. CENTCOM Navy forces conducted a night-time seizure of a dhow conducting illegal transport of advanced lethal aid from Iran to resupply Houthi forces in Yemen as part of the Houthis’ ongoing campaign of attacks against international merchant shipping. U.S. Navy SEALs operating from USS LEWIS B PULLER (ESB 3), supported by helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), executed a complex boarding of the dhow near the coast of Somalia in international waters of the Arabian Sea, seizing Iranian-made ballistic missile and cruise missiles components. Seized items include propulsion, guidance, and warheads for Houthi medium range ballistic missiles (MRBMs) and anti-ship cruise missiles (ASCMs), as well as air defense associated components. Initial analysis indicates these same weapons have been employed by the Houthis to threaten and attack innocent mariners on international merchant ships transiting in the Red Sea. This is the first seizure of lethal, Iranian-supplied advanced conventional weapons (ACW) to the Houthis since the beginning of Houthi attacks against merchant ships in November 2023. The interdiction also constitutes the first seizure of advanced Iranian-manufactured ballistic missile and cruise missile components by the U.S. Navy since November 2019. The direct or indirect supply, sale, or transfer of weapons to the Houthis in Yemen violates U.N. Security Resolution 2216 and international law. Two U.S. Navy SEALs previously reported as lost at sea were directly involved in this operation. “We are conducting an exhaustive search for our missing teammates,” said General Michael Erik Kurilla, USCENTCOM Commander. The dhow was deemed unsafe and sunk by U.S. Navy forces. Disposition of the 14 dhow crewmembers is being determined in accordance with international law. “It is clear that Iran continues shipment of advanced lethal aid to the Houthis. This is yet another example of how Iran actively sows instability throughout the region in direct violation of U.N Security Resolution 2216 and International law,” said General Michael Erik Kurilla, "We will continue to work with regional and international partners to expose and interdict these efforts, and ultimately to reestablish freedom of navigation.” centcom.mil/MEDIA/PRESS-RE…
  2. actually now we're saying they didn't target us at all so no need to retaliate. Iraq (well the Kurds) also arrested an Iranian national and charged him with supplying Iran the information for the attacks.
  3. Iran might have a lot less missiles and drones to ship to Russia in the near future. The IRGC just attacked a US consulate in Erbil
  4. seems like this could be something big. The US consulate in Erbil was just struck (or almost struck) by a missile from Iran. Seems kind of surprising Iran is just jumping in directly instead of continuing to use their proxies which seems to have worked well for them the last 10-15 years. "Targeting the US consulate in northern Iraq Ahed Iraqi Network reported that the American consulate in northern Iraq was targeted by a drone" "The text of IRGC Notice No. 1: In response to the recent terrorist crimes of the enemies of Islamic Iran, the spy headquarters and the gathering of anti-Iranian terrorist groups in parts of the region were targeted by IRGC ballistic missiles in the middle of the night."
  5. I bet they're going to bring him on in the middle of a live show to read the manscaped promos
  6. 2 more hostages killed https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-782292
  7. You know he's not wrong. It's just that the fall date he'll be in college station is Nov 30th.
  8. Still wouldn't have minded if they'd gone to Congress with it. Not like they didn't have time. Maybe Congress was too busy with the budget? How are Egypt and Cypus connected? I don't know much other than it's split between Greece and Turkey after the Turks invaded or whatever
  9. I'd definitely bring either or both in for an interview to help them out, but I don't think I'd consider them unless Sark strikes out on his first choices.
  10. I'm 62.4% sure he's joking, but it's tech so who can say for sure?
  11. how would this work with Title IX? What exactly is the benefit here for schools?
  12. Why isn't there more being said about Saudi Arabia in all this? I thought I read that they were pushing restraint but shouldn't they be all over getting everyone to help them clean up the Houthis in Yemen?
  13. yes basically this, which Bobby confirmed this afternoon. He said something like, you can't just film that in a day and have it ready tomorrow, but he did also say behind the scenes everyone knew he was coming back (and you can see coaches and players acting accordingly) so I guess they weren't in any great rush for the announcement.
  14. Haven't watched it yet, but a little concerned they dumped all the episodes out at once instead of weekly like usually. Not sure if that's a good sign. What If season 2 also aired one every day for the Christmas week, but I'm not sure if that was planned with everyone being on vacation or it was a reaction to declining Marvel ratings in general. The trailer does look good. Has the actress bulked up some? She looks thicker than in Hawkeye.
