  1. Who knows right now, I think it is but you've been trying to extrapolate a result of a very shitty-ran caucus (i.e. a confusing thing many people don't care to participate in) as to how much actual support there is for Bernie right now, and those results still missing like 29% percent. Let's talk after Super Tuesday or even right before. Edit: and yes obviously his support isn't among the suburban liberal-esque white people who dislike Trump but don't seem to understand how bad the country was for the more poor before 2016. Bernie's strategy may backfire on him, I think it won't but it's certainly possible. This idea that he'll only win by winning literally every state by huge margins was something that I don't think any of us Berners said would happen. Any primary is going to be a long and drawn out process with this many candidates, it's inevitable.
  2. Ted Cruz is hispanic, not sure how that's debatable. He may be fairly white skinned but his dad is from Cuba.
  3. I mean he's overwhelmingly got more individual donations and volunteers knocking on doors, making calls/texts, writing postcards than any other Democratic candidate and it isn't even close. If that alone doesn't prove to you that there's a huge enthusiasm behind him then talking to your more well-off white friends about policy isn't going to matter. Tell them to vote their conscience
  4. People can rightly be turned off by the attitude and I'm not going to argue that you can't feel that way, but many leftists believe this is the only way left to try and force the Democratic party back to where it really should be. When you look at what they're truly wanting, as I said an actual dismantling of capitalism in the US, it's not shocking that they may have an extreme way of approaching electoral politics.
  5. If they were all on Bernie's staff I could see that being bad, it is a (yes, BERNIE BRO) podcast that would like to see capitalism completely dismantled in the United States, something much much more left of anything Bernie has ever advocated for. There are a lot of episodes where they've dug into issues of extreme debt where they've said much more awful stuff about things like the health insurance companies and the people who run them.
  6. They aren't official Bernie staff members, this no worse as the KHive twitter saying they would never vote for Bernie.
  7. I'm not going to go so far as to say they're trying to intentionally prop-up Pete, but this was posted yesterday and these results still haven't been included in any official count. It's at best gross incompetence that shows a process that needs to be removed entirely.
  8. They've been saying that well before Iowa, it's just now getting highlighted. Also Pete isn't going to be winning this nomination after tying in Iowa. I'll eat my hat if he does.
  9. The Trillbillies account is a good follow.
  10. He's basically the only one throwing money here in Georgia, our primary is March 24 and all the other major candidates are doing ground game for Super Tuesday and I'm guessing are targeting the bigger states. He's getting good polling because he's the only one running in some states, hope like hell he'll crater when the actual people show up.
  11. If Bernie ran as an independent/3rd party then Trump would cruise to victory. Why would he do that?
  12. A big reason the tuition is high i's because the government hasn't done enough to subsidize the cost.
  13. Lol I paid my student debt off earlier in 2019. I'm all for everyone else getting relief, there wasn't exactly a huge number of bachelor level STEM jobs in 2011 where my Biology degree cold take me until the economy improved. It's not just liberal art majors in debt and the cost of tuition keeps increasing.
  14. lmao, did Hugo get access to your account?
  15. Yeah I'd realllly like to see the final count announced soon. I get the feeling that they aren't going to show shit until several days from now though.
  16. I thought so too at first but if Biden is cratering Bloomberg being there to suck up so much ad time may hurt Warren and Bernie. We'll see, I really don't think he's in it to win, it'd be an insane result.
  17. Pretty certain Bloomberg's whole goal is to not necessarily win the nomination but suck up enough delegates to prevent Bernie from outright winning it.
  18. People complaining about Bernie Bros online being mean to them. If Bernie becomes the frontrunner then they have no reason to play nice since the idea is that they aren't held hostage to another candidate. Will is being tongue in cheek though.
  19. For all the discussion about turnout, this is exactly what I'd like to see.
  20. lmao at only releasing half the results, there's no fucking reason to do that at this point. Any momentum the winner gets is going to be minuscule at this point.
  21. As a developer myself I immediately knew what probably happened. Everyone in the DNC knowing each other so there's little outsight oversight as to who is developing this crap. An app that clearly had problems before it was used and almost certainly not stress tested and probably little integration testing. People not trusting it and the Iowa Democratic Party stupidly not having more people to man phone calls (hour long wait times from what I heard).
  22. Yes? It's super white, but there's minority and immigrant heavy populations in working class areas across the country. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The freaking point is not the overall makeup but the demographics of who support whom.
  23. He's possibly going to win Iowa? Not sure what the point is, he may literally get all the delegates in New Hampshire and could dominate California. Several caucus sites last night that were predominately immigrant heavy went like 99% for him, which is exactly what is campaign is trying to do. It's a gamble, but this is literally one data point that isn't going to prove anything.
  24. Several people on NPR were interviewed in the past couple of weeks and weren't enthused because there were so many candidates. I'd hold my pessimism until after Super Tuesday's numbers come out.
