  1. Sounds good to me, let's get on a single payer universal healthcare that phases out private insurance (except maybe for cosmetic and elective care) completely in 5 years.
  2. Posted the insane rise in tuition graph before Troph, it's time to accept that a lot of us are demanding the richest country in the world take care of its citizens. We don't need a bunch of bullshit tax credits, we need actual structural reform.
  3. If any of you think our institutions are going to successfully prevent him from trying to jail someone like Pelosi, that is not a gamble we should be taking. It's so evidently clear that our institutions aren't doing the job we all thought they were supposed to unless something falls to a federal Judge that was appointed under Obama or prior administrations.
  4. She described herself as a capitalist, I'm aware of that, which is why I really am still leaning towards Bernie. She would still be one of the most left Presidents ever (which yes I'm aware of would be at most center-left in many other countries).
  5. I think it's fair to ask if Warren regrets this. However, to say she's deep down a conservative after attacking giant corporations and banks that have driven the GOPs obsession with deregulation the past however many decades is fucking stupid.
  6. Maybe it's because we have our own thread, but it's insane to me to see Riley get so little coverage. He's had 5 homers in what, 9 or 10 games? And the dude drove in the winning run yesterday after tying it up earlier.
  7. I really don't buy this BS about him gaining more support or giving him the excuse to wield more despot power if he's impeached and not convicted. If you supposedly believe in our system of institutions and checks and balances then you have a duty to impeach Trump. A god damned member of the Freedom Caucus is letting his nuts hang more than the Democratic leadership.
  8. The jim crow law boycotts are a tad bit different than film studios that already move to states where they can get tax breaks. I don't see this moving the needle because Brian Kemp campaigned on this issue, this isn't a surprise. What Jordan Peele and JJ Abrams are doing is going to help a lot more in fighting this, they're donating much of their profits from Lovecraft Country (which was filmed here in Georgia) to groups and candidates that are going to fight this. Edit: This is also what a lot of black women and men who are activists here in Georgia are saying as well, this is something that a lot of privileged people can afford to do while black women and other women of color are going to suffer because they can't just easily get up and move to a better state.
  9. Alyssa got dragged hard for this kind of shit. I'm not saying come here and throw away your morals and convictions, but it has rightfully been pointed out to her and other people that a boycott isn't going to change minds, donate your time and money because the only people who are going to hurt are the poor and mostly non-white people we have here.
  10. It is absolutely fucking amazing Pelosi is so worried about the consequences of impeachment. Hey dipshit, the huge wave Dems rode in 2018 was extremely boosted by hatred of Trump, you aren't going to lose the House in 2020 if you impeach him, holy shit.
  11. LOL, just fuck this country if we can't even handle this.
  12. Alabama Public Television triggered over a gay wedding for a fictional character. https://tvline.com/2019/05/20/arthur-gay-wedding-episode-banned-alabama-mr-ratburn-controversy/
  13. Yeah it's probably hyperbole to think he could get 18, but unless he suffers a major injury in the next few years, it's going to be hard to see him not have double digit majors.
  14. I watched maybe 5 minutes total of this tournament unfortunately, and didn't bother to tune in today when I saw Koepa had like a 5 stroke lead before today's round. Does he legitimately have a shot too at Jack's record? Dude is dialed in right now, but it's kind of hard to root for him since he really doesn't seem to have much of a personality imo.
  15. Freddie!!!
  16. Jesus Riley is good. Seeing hard and missed at the first porch here in the 6th and thought it would have been a homer. Second pitch he hits is an opposite field homer.
  17. I swear, either Dansby or Culberson needs to shave because I still cannot tell them apart.
  18. The law is being made to criminalize abortion in the hopes people will not seek abortion. I don't know how that isn't a fair comparison to many of the same people who would also say that gun laws don't prevent gun violence.
  19. Cool, it's a board where people don't generally write a thesis defense and instead post reactionary images, tweets, videos. etc. It was a simple and clear point.
  20. Did you not just concede that anything from twitter being used to drive home a point is "cancer?"
  21. Are you dense? The point is how incredibly hypocritical these people are. If you were to poll every single pro-lifer in Alabama who think gun control laws don't work I'd bet the venn diagram of the responses would be a complete circle.
  22. Pointing out the obvious hypocrisy of the GOP and evangelicals is cancer, got it.
