  1. We were pushing $300 with Directv when we left several years back. We had 4 DVRS in various rooms of the house and I can’t even remember what package we had. We now use AT&T internet, YoutubeTV, and have various streaming services, Max is free with our AT&T cell phones, we have Netflix and Amazon Prime (not much that we watch on it though) and randomly sign up/cancel Disney, Paramount, and Apple if there is something that we want to watch. $60ish for Internet $80ish for YouTubeTV Depends on the streaming services for the rest so it’s still much cheaper for us than going back.
  2. You need internet and have several options: 1 - your TV is a Smart TV so it has built in apps on it. 2 - you can buy an external device (Roku, firestick, etc) and use that. In my experience, buying an external device is easier to use and doesn’t get as clunky as using the built in apps on the TV, although they will both work in their own way. There are a ton of free apps that are out there (Pluto, Tubi, etc) that have movies and tv shows. Similar to a cell phone, there are different apps you can download and navigate through. You can pay for a service (we have YouTubeTV but there’s also Hulu and other options). We pay $80 or so for YouTubeTV and it works on all the TVs in the house and can be watched by multiple people at the same time. For sports and things you’ll more than likely need one of these services. You can also use an antenna for local channels but that is another conversation.
  3. I’m guessing I’ll have to drop the tank for this one?
  4. Daughters car has been throwing this code that says “Unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum” and anytime we put gas (doesn’t matter if it’s one gallon or fill it up) the car has problems starting and takes a few cranks. Once it starts it sputters for a few seconds and then it’s fine. There are no other issues at all until we put gas in again. All the stuff I’ve seen online says to replace the purge valve, which we have, we’ve cleaned the fill valve, and checked underneath for crimped or damaged hoses and found nothing. Any other suggestions?
  5. Random setting. New set of clothes. Kick ass. Toothbrush and passport. Rinse and repeat. I wouldn’t change a thing.
  6. Season 2 is based on “Bad Luck and Trouble.”
  7. I’ve got about 7k invested in: AZFL, GNCP, DVLP, INND, and NECA Currently down 97.81% overall. However, NECA, now NECAD, did a reverse split and will soon be going to the moon.
  8. We’ve had good luck with ours. Had an electrical, several plumbing issues, one pretty big AC issue, and some other smaller things over the years. Sounds like I’m in the minority but we’ve come out ahead so far.
  9. We’ve never had one before we moved into this house. The unit is 6 years old. I haven’t found much help online, with most things I can google the model number and find a helpful video.
  10. Water softener won’t stop running the regeneration cycle. I’ve unplugged and restarted the system, closed the valves and reopened them the next day, and done everything else I can think to do.
  11. We must share old neighbors.
  12. Attaching a beam to a post? In the process of adding a pergola to our backyard, is it better to sit the beams on top of the post or, considering the weight on top won’t be very much, is it okay to use carriage bolts to connect the 2x6 to the 6x6 post?
  13. So next years appraisal will go up 150% instead of the usual 50%?
  14. I felt it didn’t have enough of the Indy theme and whip action. It was good enough to not be the worst of the series.
  15. Changed the blower motor in my truck the other day. Tiny bit of satisfaction and a congratulatory beer felt nice.
  16. The magnet on the solenoid was stuck and not opening by itself. A neighbor came by and popped it open with a flathead screwdriver, said he’d had the same issue with his system. 17. Money for everyone but those that need it.
  18. Any sprinkler system experts in here?I had to shut off the water at the back flow connection to repair a cracked section of PVC pipe. Turned the water back on, tried the system and nothing. I’ve tried every zone and can’t get any of them to turn on. The panel in the garage has power, tried to reset it and still nothing. Any ideas?
  19. The wife said “you should go buy a new tv for Father’s Day” and I’m not sure what to do.
  20. Love the kid no matter what. You’ll make mistakes and just know that there are no perfect parents and it will be okay. Don’t let other people tell you how to raise your child.
  21. In May of 2018 my legs started hurting. It was a dull aching pain that felt like they were just sore (I had played basketball several times that week) but the pain kept getting worse and worse. A few days later I was in a meeting and my hands, arms, and legs felt like they were on fire. I had no strength in my hands or extremities. I was sitting in a meeting and tried to pick up s pencil and couldn’t grip it. My boss sent me home and I had to loop my arm through the steering wheel and pull myself into my truck. I vividly remember getting home and an Amazon package being delivered. I went to open the door and couldn’t even turn the door knob (we had childproof locks on them). My wife came home and I was curled up in the fetal position on the floor. She drove me to the doctor, he did all kinds of tests and I was diagnosed with polymyositis. My arms and legs ache for the most part nonstop and I’ll occasionally get a tingling/burning sensation in my hands and feet. I take medicine for it has stayed under control for the most part. I’ve never felt the pain I did in 2018 and still don’t have any idea what brought it on or caused it.
  22. My grandpa saw me walking around with the book and when he saw who the author was he snatched it out of my hands thinking it was a Bond novel.
  23. The burgers are smaller and don’t have the same taste as before. Fries and drinks are still the same.
  24. Learned how to play craps there about 20 years ago at a $2 table. It was slow and the dealer gave me a lot of tips and advice. Thought I was Billy Badass and blew everything I had at Caesar’s later that night.
  25. My wife is a nurse. I learned a long time ago not to say shit about any ailments.
