  1. It's ok, Trump was doomed from the coming Joe-mentum anyway.
  2. I alluded to it up thread, after that initial post you quoted. One specific thing is the pros and cons of public transportation with an insidious virus that is spreadable but not easily detected, asymptomatic, for days before it shows itself. People on that said public transportation didn't/don't have a chance or a choice since many don't have/need cars but still need to get to work. You take the pros and cons when you decide to live in NYC like anywhere else. I wanted to see if he has come to grips, self acknowledged, with that blessing/curse. I had the chance to move to the Boston area for work and declined, had the chance to move to San Jose in a different scenario and declined(looking back the San Jose thing might have been really really good. DFW is fine though.
  3. ok, man. Judges will be the judge of the judging of whether his judges are worth any of the barrel bottom-ness you describe.
  4. I don't agree but that is not important. Let us come together to support those in need till it comes time to interpret the language and real meaning of the Biden vs Trump shitastic remarks/comments/hyperbole to come. It is why we live here in the CR.
  5. sure. looks like people are going to die. with a ~50% chance of dying if you get serious enough to make it to a not always going to be available full featured ventilator ER bed it is going to be grim for those who are weakened enough or unlucky enough in their personal life situation to allow it to fuck them up to that point. Our older relatives are staying the fuck away from everyone as much a possible.
  6. Pros and cons when deciding where you will live. Penelope had mentioned one person in nyc dying every 9 minutes before this crisis. Seems like a big deal. I live in DFW. We aren't as dense though to be sure. My allergies kick up this time of year. Had a couple times in the past few weeks that I was thinking if I had CV or not. Fortunately the basic allergy medicine stopped the snot and I'm chalking it up to allergy. Fuck Putin, BTW.
  7. I have mixed feelings on the yuge debt being taken on for this. My family of 4 is less than $150k AGI after deductions so it appears we will get a check. I'll take it. We don't need it at this point. We'll likely add it to the emergency fund and then use it to pay down one of the mortgages if/when this blows over. We might need toilet paper in a week or two. My feelings have been stated for years on these Texas boards that we should be rather draconian on spending cuts or at least hold the budget at nominal same same from year to year till we grow our way out of debt. Let the politicians decide where the fixed set if dollars goes. I am aware of the reported exacerbation of the great depression in '29-early '30's with the lack of govt spending then vs the 2008 greasing the wheels Quantitative Easing, buying down debt to keep rates low, etc, etc, to allow collapses in critical systems to be reduced. It seems like a lot of debt. Where it goes is a question I don't think I can answer.
  8. I guess so, I am not familiar with the DPA.
  9. I know that, his past posts said he was in food management at a restaurant IIRC. Why is NYC the epicenter? Not talking about whether it is or not, I'm interested in why he thinks it has developed into the epicenter if he has any ideas on why it is or has become that.
  10. I don't know, I'm a landlord and Econ major. My opinion is what it is.
  11. Why is it the epicenter is all around you and others who post from there? Do you have any hypothesis' as to why that is?
  12. So you said it in this thread, I just read it. Do you really think you are going to change the mind of the people who are saying you aren't allowed to use political items in the non-political thread on DT? Get over yourself.

from aggy: no idea if true or not, AGI also.
  16. Jan 31st, from Dr Fauci: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/press-briefing-members-presidents-coronavirus-task-force/ Having the benefit of looking back at what actually happened instead of what might happen with unknowns is real distinction.
  17. It was a joke, more or less, relax.
  18. Seems like there are a lot of negative towards Trump people posting in the thread that is supposed to be about or from people telling why they support him. Can't you keep your negativity in all of the other Trump threads and let us Trump snowflakes have our safe space here? Stick to the topic.
  19. Might depend on where you live, what county in some cases. Dallas County's order on Sunday had a list of essential business types and then also a statement that the judgement of whether the business reason qualified should be broadly interpreted as yes. Go to the county website where you live and see if you can find the order of whatever type of restrictions are in place along with the exceptions.
