I’ve had something similar happen to me with homemade cookies but that’s bc the dosage wasn’t exactly scientific. Maybe the company that makes your edibles doesn’t have a good QC situation
  2. Except for the fact that the government already told her under seal about the conflict arising from the potential perjury before the DC grand jury. There’s no excuse for her falling victim to the Fox News “Doesn’t this seem improper?” trolling
  3. Minimum security prison is no picnic. The key is to kick someone’s ass on the first day
  4. lol more like: ”what are you in for?” ”See I was putting together a concert” *STAB* Although your idea of prison sounds nice. Like gangs with a sense of justice evaluating whether the victims deserved it, rather than a hierarchical system of violence and primal fear with some bribery thrown in for good measure
  5. Been to a lot of prisons, have you? And you think fraud gets respected generally as opposed to say armed robbery or murder?
  6. You’re right to be suspicious but I think Arch over Malik on the depth chart isn’t surprising
  7. Yeah I agree. That’s on the judge. How early did she/he give the Allen charge? For a criminal trial especially that seems brief I guess the jury notes were probably pretty definitive about a deadlock
  8. I’m watching it but I don’t find this season as compelling.
  9. As long as we’re wishcasting, all federal elections should be publicly funded with no outside money spent and campaigning should be limited to only 2 months prior to the election
  10. “Sorry about violating federal laws and maybe contributing to the death of that old lady. Here’s your stuff back and a public statement we won’t use it. But we’re definitely still investigating legitimate crimes. #sorrynotsorry”
  11. Or how he was all over the center about the snaps. That stuff is important to get right but what a bitch
  12. McGonigal, 55, still has pending federal charges in Washington for allegedly taking $225,000 in bribes while working for the bureau on sensitive investigations. His attorney recently said there were plea discussions with prosecutors there. A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney in Washington declined to comment.” -from the Post article upthread. This $17k for stuff after he left seems to be only a small part of the story
  13. My understanding is that the court clerk says no probable cause affidavit was on file, and it’s probably because one was never filed to obtain the search warrant. If the probable cause affidavit or info about any evidence presented to the magistrate has come out, I’d be interested in reviewing that.
  14. Im not sure you understand this process. A typical jury pool for a single case is probably 50 potential jurors. With 19 defendants We’re talking about at least 171 people stricken as a matter of right, plus I’m sure a large number stricken for cause in addition because of the high profile nature of the case, number of facts publicly known, and high bias of the jury pool. Georgia isn’t going to be able to get 1000 potential jurors in one sitting. If all these defendants are tried together, then jury selection will take forever.
  15. I’m not a criminal procedure expert but I assume it’s because each defendant is entitled to a certain number of peremptory strikes of potential jurors. Meaning that as a matter of right, they can eliminate something like 9 potential jurors. That’s separate from striking a potential juror for cause
