  1. Brazen defiance to the chief judge of the DC federal court He’s bending over backwards asking them to give a written justification as case law and precedent requires more than the government screaming “NATIONAL SECURITY”. Sounds like noon tomorrow for that submission. That said - showing up to an evidentiary hearing on your own contempt of court without answers is a stupid battle to pick. They don’t have 5 votes at SCOTUS for ignoring TROs
  2. This is going about as expected
  3. With NK troops in Ukraine, it may be only a matter of time before other countries get involved. Poland has been itching for an excuse to join the fighting
  4. Isn’t the script in Christopher Guest movies a series of scene set ups or a few key jokes and the actors improv for a bunch of takes?
  5. Schumer is too old and has no instincts anymore. Completely misread the situation
  6. I don’t care why - this is a good thing
  7. I won’t speak for the person you’re quoting, but I’d guess it has something to do with this: “As of October 2024, there have been hundreds of documented nonfatal incidents involving Autopilot and fifty-one reported fatalities, forty-four of which NHTSA investigations or expert testimony later verified and two that NHTSA’s Office of Defect Investigations verified as happening during the engagement of Full Self-Driving (FSD).” https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevebanker/2025/02/11/tesla-again-has-the-highest-accident-rate-of-any-auto-brand/
  8. Because of the legal shell game they set up. Ostensibly these people were hired into the US Digital Service and that was folded into the Executive Office of the President so it’s “not an agency”. A federal court only just ruled that DOGE is subject to FOIA
  9. Perhaps the beginning of accountability and sunlight into this shadow presidency
  10. So first of all - so great for all the US based champagne producers… This is such a dumb way to run a country. It truly seems like he’s trying to crash the economy
  11. We’re disappearing green card holders for their speech - of course the precedent was set when we looked the other way when Virginia resident and WaPo journalist was murdered by MBS so what do we care of middle Eastern people anyway. We are permitting a foreign billionaire to dismantle US agencies that have active regulatory enforcement investigations into his companies simply bc he was the President’s biggest donor We have politicized our entire federal law enforcement arm from prosecutors to the FBI itself - no more impartial rule of law, emphasized of course by pardoning terrorists who assaulted cops in a literal effort to stop the certification of votes electing a President I used to believe there were immutable issues that everyone shared that were the backbone of the American idea. We’ve instead become a Russian vassal state All that to say that I don’t believe in third rails. There’s not a single issue this government can take on that will result in a wholesale rejection of Trump or MAGA. GOP politicians and voters alike would rather eat glass than admit we should have people inspecting our food to make sure it doesn’t have glass in it
  12. They genuinely believe (or refuse to correct) that tariffs can replace the revenue from income taxes.
  13. Yes and it’s 25% - cartoon idiocy. EU retaliation already levied
  14. So we all have GOP Congress to thank to taping our feet to the bicycle and forcing us to endure whatever tariffs fuckery comes next with no legal off ramp. Just fantastic work
  15. I have to believe this is mostly because of poor cap management. It’s not like there’s a ton of room in the budget unspent- it’s that they don’t prioritize putting money aside for free agency. Any signings they do make I seem to remember also news of key players restructuring their contracts to make the cap space available
  16. Some of our OL draft picks have actually been a bright spot for a unit otherwise completely neglected by Jerry. If they don’t score TDs he won’t pay. See also why the defense sucks
  17. Using the fucking White House as a backdrop to benefit a billionaire donor who also is destroying the government’s ability to regulate business or innovate. And the media has given up on reporting corruption or illegality of any of these actions. “The President looked at Teslas on the White House lawn and went ‘Vroom vroom.’ Today is the day Trump became the people’s President”
  18. Notice how it’s only words with Russia but actual consequences for Ukraine?
  19. It’s depressing how this is probably the correct answer- that combined with a healthy “Jews control the banks, so let’s screw them while making money on manipulating crypto”. Otherwise I can’t make much sense of him railing against (((globalists)))
  20. No, man - it’s bad faith attempts to create facts to beat the many lawsuits challenging Elon’s authority. Particularly litigation based on the Appointments clause. This was only a little later:
  21. Well I guess instead of creating an asylum policy to remedy the wrongs of turning away a ship full of refugees running from Hitler and sending them home to war, torture, and death - we decided we wanted to embrace that tradition and repeat it on a larger scale
  22. they never wanted a mineral rights deal. They wanted to lure Zelensky to a meeting and they coordinated with the Russians before. I’d be outraged but this administration is clearly pushing for Ukrainian surrender and doing everything in its power to aid Russia in those efforts
