  1. For those not familiar with the baby formula shortage: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10801581/FDA-refuses-say-baby-formula-plant-reopen-despite-companys-claims-facility-safe.html Why is biggest baby formula plant in US STILL shut down after three months? Abbott says plant is safe and was not responsible for bacteria that killed two kids - but FDA refuses to reopen it as parents across US struggle to feed their babies Abbott Laboratories claims its Michigan plant is not responsible for bacteria that killed at least two infants The baby formula manufacturer alleged an FDA investigation revealed 'infant formula produced at our Sturgis facility is not the likely source of infection' Abbott claims products from the facility did not cause any bacterial outbreak The plant still remains closed despite the findings after shutting down in February amid a major product recall Abbott says it's 'working closely with the FDA to restart operations' at the plant as parents across the nation are struggling to get formula for their babies ...The formula shortage, which has become a national crisis, was triggered by supply chain issues, but spiked with the closure of the Abbott plant... ...The nationwide share of out-of-stock baby formula hit 40 percent in April. Texas, Tennessee, Missouri, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota, seemingly hardest hit by the shortages, reported out-of-stock rates of about 50 percent.... Even Congress is now concerned, they will hold hearings... ...2 weeks from now. Way to prioritize.
  2. I'd guess that while Russia may try to defend gains in NE Ukraine, their primary goals are maintaining a land bridge to Crimea and creating one to Transnistria. So ultimately they may redeploy the NE units to the south front and cede the NE gains if necessary. They might settle for control south of the Dnipro River, but will make a push to capture Odessa and the entire Ukrainian coast. Just a guess, but drawing on my vast experience as an armchair quarterback.

  6. Took me 4 refreshes to get mlb66.ir to work, but no problems since. Sportsurge is a good backup, usually several of the dozen+ links will work with my vpn: https://v2.sportsurge.net/watch-4042-houston-astros-vs-minnesota-twins
  7. Russia's mass kidnapping is probably multi-faceted. 1. Attempt at permanently reducing Ukraine's population. If the country survives, at least it is weaker. 2. De facto slave labor force. 3. Hostages for monetary and political ransom. Ukraine will have to pay big money or other favors to get (some of) them back, money it doesn't have. So another way to extort money for Russia, while perhaps further weakening/slowing the recovery of Ukraine economically. 4. Just pure brutal assholery: "You may someday kick our military out, but you will never be truly whole again.
  8. I was rooting for Moldova's entry: If Moldova merged into Romania, it would make a hell of a new national anthem. Would love to see the stands rock out to it at an Olympic medal ceremony. Chisinau-Bucharest!

  12. r u Turkish? He said the opposite: https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2022/may/9/mitch-mcconnell-rules-out-abolishing-filibuster-pa/ Mr. McConnell, Kentucky Republican, said that regardless of how the Supreme Court rules on abortion, the GOP would not sacrifice the 60-vote threshold for political gain. “I’ve clearly stated I will never support smashing the legislative filibuster on this issue or any other,” he said.
