  1. They're environmentally friendly now. They extensively reuse and recycle excuses as well.
  2. Yeah, when Bijan's senior time is public, that joke will truly come to fruition.
  3. I'm fine with OU's losing players to a black hole of football mediocrity from which they will never score on us.
  4. Did you not notice that they won it? Moral victory over us, 29-40 (capping a streak of moral victories which included OU and Tech). By transitive property, they get credit for everything we do subsequently.
  5. Our 5* has landed. Victory on B-Day!
  6. Style the title and ostensible content around the theme of "Hard, hitting, no-nonsense, thinking look at aggy football from a man's man perspective." Then make all the content fantasy pap and suck-up-to-coaches pieces. Moderate all alternate opinion away with condescending notes about "aggy values" and "obvious to those who think rather than buy into BOMC BS." Include a lot of graphics featuring farm animals and poorly closeted gay men. Have premium membership levels with words you are only allowed to post based on your level. Must be at third tier up to get "boot" icon next to your avatar. Include pseudo-military names and iconography in the levels. Have at least one or two full-time "strawman sip" posting staff who use a variety of logins to make us look as foolish as possible by letting the rubes mock "us" and "what whorn fehgs think."
  7. Hope seems always to be highest in August, especially before any (heaven forbid) camp injuries. I have a positive gut feeling (too much salsa last night?), though, that I have not had in about a decade. A few bounces of the ball can turn a game, and in some ways even a whole season. That said, when was the last time we started the year with (1) a QB with legit skins on the wall and "it," (2) not just an exciting skill player, but exciting skill players that we will have to work to find a way to fit onto the field because of who is in front of them, (3) an OL that isn't one injury or illness away from total catastrophe (or worse-- already there) but rather appears solid, (4) a coach that looks like he loves and thrives in big games, and (5) great freshman talent that we plan to redshirt because we can. Defense has some questions, but there appear to be plausible and agreeable answers available-- we will need to see. All in all, I think this team is ready for a great season. Not good-- great. Have some Koolaid! I plan to keep chugging it myself.
  8. Wait, I thought they were the guy who married his student, “converted,” beat her, divorced her, and started the cycle over.
  9. And he was not hired to get their immediate eligibility request approval percentage up.
  10. So at QB: Robinson -- transferred out Baldwin -- transferred in, had surgery, not eligible Rogers -- bad wheel better? not last time he saw live fire (threw one pass in Cheez-it bowl, still had drop foot) Collins -- transfer from Penn. Last year started @KU (L 26-27), KSU (W 14-13), @WVU (L 10-47), and @Baylor (W 16-9). Delton -- transfer from KSU. Started for KSU against us (L 14-19) and KU (W 21-17). Duggan -- true FR My takeaway: a roster of backups. Good enough, with the defense playing well, to beat a team that looks past them. Likely to get beaten up by OU, Texas, anybody else who catches them running a QB with partial paralysis out there. It won't break my heart if they continue to languish looking for a replacement target for Turpin, either.
  11. That's the schedule that keeps Jimbo around another year.
  12. Michigan may do well, but they seem a bit high based on their trajectory in the postseason. aggy at 11 is perfect. High enough that the roller coaster will have a long way to plummet. Exactly one behind us perfect to incite their envy. Not sure whether UCF is too high or too low. The season is unlikely to answer that well. They're like an interloper from a parallel footballverse WSU probably about right. ISU may be too low I would not be surprised to see Corn (much higher) in the final poll
  13. They (used to) have a lot of parking on campus. And that stadium is partially sunken, so it would have to be pretty full before you'd see many people from the street. That said, I've been to a few games there, and Texas was the only opponent who brought enough fans to make it obvious it wasn't a scrimmage.
  14. I've slept and am feeling like less of a jerk. I am sorry for the way I described your pun and responded to you.
  15. Couldn’t resist repeating the apt error from earlier today. Old habit? Privilege? Concession? Yore rite, your right, you’re right.
  16. I’m not sure it’s fair to question whether aggy is human. Even Neanderthal was capable of some interbreeding with h sapiens.
  17. Describing the players who play a given position or position group as a “unit” seems somewhat at odds with the etymology and traditional use of that word as well. Position groups do not function in isolation and are made up of multiple individuals. Maybe we should start a support group for people who struggle sometimes to adapt to the fluid nature of language.
  18. Anyone who has lurked here and has an IQ over 80 should be at least rudimentarily acquainted with the fact that this is not WelcomingHorns or KidGloveHorns.
  19. McGriff from Ole Miss for those wanting the surprise spoiled. https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/auburn-football/wesley-mcgriff-auburn-tigers-ole-miss-rebels-hire-db-coach-2019/
  20. We don’t have a roster packed with returning starters, but we have been on a steep upslope of talent/development combination since Herman took over. Instead of wondering who will line up where there should be an OT, we now have problems like whether our uber-talented S will have to function as an LB in a shuffle that keeps our decent-not-great 2nd year LB on the bench. We’re not the ‘05 team yet, but we look good to me.
