Was there, too. Great atmosphere, especially for a weeknight game in January. Without Hartenstein, I thought they'd get rolled. Guess not.
It's easy to say they're small but they're all tall and long, relative to position. There are no 6'2" guards and while J Dub is a bit short on height, he has a 7'2" wingspan. Even Shai has a 6'11" wingspan. Having Caruso back is a big deal for them. He gives them three elite, on ball, wing defenders. (Himself, Dort, and Cason Wallace.) That means they can play 1 or 2 of them with the second unit and bench dudes aren't scoring on them. The other players are still pretty good on defense and always swiping for the ball and when they get the turnover, they can all move, handle, shoot, and finish.
It's remarkable that they've done all this without having a healthy roster for even one game. Hartenstein will be back in a week or so and Chet maybe a month, which will make them better on defense and Chet is arguably their second best offensive player.
If their supporting cast just hit shots then they'll be awful tough to stop in a 7 game series. I think the entire roster is also under contract for next season as well.
