  1. It won't matter. Trump could have killed the agent and strangled the wife himself and it won't matter. It's infuriating, actually. On almost a daily basis there is something that would DQ any other candidate from either party but nothing matters.
  2. They know they're not winning WI or MI so PA is their only hope. Narrator: They're not winning PA.
  3. 8. The problem with being a fast growth luxury brand like this is that they CANNOT compromise brand quality. I know nothing about their production process but if they increase production to meet demand, it has to be the same. No exceptions. If that means price goes up then the price goes up. (A lot of brands make this mistake.) 9. They have to be litigious assholes when it comes to knock offs. (Burberry is well known for this.) There doesn't seem to be a knock off problem now but often times luxury brands have this problem and the knock offs show up in the diverted market at Costco, Sam's, TJ Max, whatever the fuck. They need to be on top of this before it becomes a problem. Thanks for coming to Part II of my Ted Talk.
  4. They may be pricey but I highly recommend them. They fit great and hold up excellent over time. Also a gorgeous design. Some are like works of art, particularly the women's line. (They're a woman's boot designed by a woman. They have a femininity to them, whereas other lines are just a boot painted white or red or something.)
  5. Since I recently bought myself and m'lady a pair of Lucchese's, I became a bit interested in their business model. Being the consumer retail nerd that I am, I was curious. Here are my findings. 1. The brand image is high end. Someone on here said it's Western meets Prada. Bingo. I started looking at it as a brand like LV rather than just a boot store. 2. They're 100% DTC now. (Direct to Consumer.) They're not in any other retail channels like back in the day. (Cavenders and what not.) Only the website and their owned stores. 3. They're can't seem to build these stores fast enough. I follow them on IG and saw they opened a store over the weekend on South Congress. I knew they already had an Austin store so that made me wonder how many of these they had. 26 stores in seems. All stores are either in the Central of Mountain time zones. Nothing coastal or southern. Makes sense. 4. That made me wonder if they're over building. So, I went over to Glassdoor. (A surprisingly good resource sometimes.) Almost every one of their internal reviews said they're selling so much product, that they're having trouble tracking the inventory. Someone specifically called out the Nashville store saying it was the #2 store in the chain (Dallas likely #1), and they were blowing through so much inventory that they didn't know what they had due to a POS/inventory system that wasn't great. That hit close to home because my wife tried on a pair at the Nashville store and they seemed confused about whether they had her size or not. Meanwhile, there was a constant stream of people coming in there despite it being under renovation. 5. There were endless complaints on Glassdoor about it being chaotic because of the growth. This is common in fast growth brands and companies. The people there likely don't understand that. That's not an insult, it's just more common than you think. 6. Supposedly, as a company, they're selling 750 boots per day and can only make 600. (Glassdoor.) 7. Also according to Glassdoor, the major "pro" from the store people was the clientele. Said they come in with money, don't care about price, and buy lots of stuff. Western Wear makes a comeback every 15-20 years or so and I knew we were in one of those cycles now thanks to Yellowstone. I guess I didn't realize there were rich people with gobs of money walking into one of these stores and saying "I'll take five pair." Anyway, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.....
  6. Yeah, it seems to be his number one obsession along with gender roles for women. (It should be noted he's never having these conversations with actual women.) He seems to have gone down the rabbit hole of hard core Catholicism, which is fine unless you want that world view to govern the country.
  7. You notice that in all these podcasts where Vance is blathering on about gender roles, he's never talking to an actual woman?
  8. If mad scientists in a lab tried to engineer a candidate that would piss off as many women as possible, I'm not sure they could do a better job than this fucking guy.
  9. Was in Nashville recently with the wife and got her birthday present. Something about a good looking woman in boots. Lucchese makes a damn nice women’s line….
  10. He's the same guy that blamed immigrants for the fentanyl problem but wrote in his book that his mother was taking and dealing fentanyl.
  11. Walz should do rallies in the South with Trae Crowder. People's heads would spin.
  12. I think we all know which word he's going to use and it's not the "N word."
  13. The idea that someone born in 1946 has anything in common generationally with someone born in the mid 60’s has always been ridiculous. They were old enough to go to Vietnam while the others were barely born. No one in consumer products would lump a 60 year old in with a 78 year old.
  14. Does Obama seem like he’s a boomer to you? Did you watch Bill Clinton’s speech? Harris is 9 years older than I am and Obama is 13 years older. The Clintons are as old as my parents.
  15. Harris and Obama are both Gen X. Stop splitting hairs. They’re not close to being Boomers like Hillary.
  16. Also, Harris isn’t leaning into the first woman angle like Hillary did. She knows we know she’s a woman. She’s saying vote for me because I’m better and I happen to be a woman vs vote for me because I’m a woman.
  17. Think about his kids. That woman he married 10 years ago is about to be the first woman president.
  18. Michigan has some really impressive Dem pols. We really liked that sheriff.
