  1. I didn't know that was a real painting. That's fucking awesome. He could easily get millions for it.
  2. Just stumbled across this. So much to unpack here: 1. Sorry for what's going on with your son. It sucks and most everyone here has been impacted by addiction. 2. I'd say your wife needs to get a job but there seems to be resistance from even you on that so you're going to do what you're going to do. I just can't imagine being your wife, being $90K in CC debt and not working. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I were her. 3. Most importantly, you need to declare bankruptcy if you want any semblance of a retirement. You're going to spend well over $100K paying this off. If you do that, you're missing the appreciation of any investments. Assuming you're about 50, that's 10-15 years of appreciation and that could easily be $150K to $200K at the end of it, on top of what you have saved now. Sure, your credit will take a hit but that doesn't really matter if you don't plan on borrowing in the next 5-7 years. You already have a house and you can get a car with bad credit. No CC's, though, and that's fine. Don't be a lifelong slave to a credit score. 4. For the love of god, don't borrow against your 401k. Again, you're losing out on the appreciation and it hurts your retirement.
  3. I know. Dude was built even during Star Wars.
  4. Thanks a lot, Joe: Our Chart of the Day is from YCharts, which shows that US oil production has surged to a new record high of 13.3 million barrels a day last week. The prior record was 13.2 million barrels a day hit in November, and is above the pre-pandemic high of 13.1 million barrels reached in February 2020. America's steady rise in US oil production has helped put a cap on prices, with the commodity down 8% year-to-date even amid a flare-up in geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, and as the US economy remains on solid footing. That's been great news for drivers, with the average price of gas steadily falling to $3.12 a gallon, according to the most recent data from AAA. The US is the largest oil producer in the world, surpassing Russia's 9.5 million barrel a day production rate, and well ahead of Saudi Arabia's daily production rate of 9.1 million barrels a day. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/chart-day-us-crude-oil-044740808.html
  5. Trump will just personally make up the difference because he's a mega billionaire, right?
  6. Let me guess, there's a clause in his contract that if he plays one game during the season, he didn't "miss" the season.
  7. That was literally like 20 years ago. He had one album in the late 90's and one song with Sheryl Crow. Why is he still even relevant?
  8. The WSJ editorial board is largely insane and completely different from the paper itself but even the conspiracy talk is too much for them. They had a piece today about the Taylor Swift thing being an example of how it's basically a party of conspiracy theorists now.
  9. I tend to agree with this but I saw a piece on the history of convicted pols whose support cratered after the actual conviction. I'm with you, though.
  10. I thought this would happen once he started getting more coverage. The media (for some reason) hasn't been reporting on the insane things he says. Now that they kind of have to, people are either remembering or realizing how insane he is:
  11. I did not know there was that much of an imbalance. How many nurse practitioners are there? I've noticed over the past few years, I almost never see my primary any more, it's always the nurse practitioner, which is fine.
  12. I don't know how common this is in NBA scheduling but in the 30 days between Jan 2 and Jan 31, the Thunder played 17 games with 5 different back to backs. Maybe that's odd, I don't know.
  13. "THERE'S A MARRIAGE CRSIS!!!! WHY WON'T WOMEN MARRY US!!!???"
  14. Even the Babylon Bee trolling their own people:
  15. Troof. If you're a guy with a cute kid, you're money. The best church story was I went on a date with an attractive woman 10 years older than me but attractive. (She was prolly 40.) Went to pound town on the second date and from that point forward, strictly fuck buddy and that's how we both wanted it. I'd dial her up about one a month, go out for some mediocre dinner, and then fuck her brains out over night. That was it for a year or so. Not even talk about "dating" let alone anything else. My wife said "You went to church and got a fuck buddy?" Um, yeah, I guess. To your point, going to a big suburban church and celibacy oddly enough do not go hand in hand. Just the dumbest fucking people....
  16. It's funny you mention the hiatus because that's what led me back to church in the first place. I figured it was a good place to get my life straightened out at the time and part of that was no dating/sex at the time. The women's radar knew I wasn't there to run some trim and as a result, I made some really good friends. However, the sex hiatus didn't work out to well after awhile. Dated a few women and had sex with all of them. (Maybe 4 or 5.) The churchy gals really are as DTF as the others, it just has to be within the confines of a dating "relationship," which can be only a few dates. But yeah, my super power is just being able to talk and listen. Same deal. I can talk to a fence post.
  17. Gym, yoga studios, and church. When I was first divorced, I got swarmed at church. Freaking hyenas. I can confirm that as well from back in my single days. Big suburban churches have tons of impressive single women (define that how you may). When I was single, I started going to one and was also surprised that they were as DTF as non churchy types. Started doing yoga a few years ago and it's about 70/30. If you can't pull trim there, don't know what to tell you. They're obviously DTF. You'd also need a good dating app game but I know nothing about that. Way too long ago.
