  1. Robin: “I was just going to say, I knew Steve Martin/Sting & Trudie/Billy Joel were going to love the book!”
    Oh yeah, my predictions.
Big secret: Howard had skin cancer (I mentioned this a few posts ago, so I’ll stick with it).
Favorite interview: Lady Gaga (first interview)  This is an easy choice for me, I’m surprised callers haven’t named it as a guess.

I agree on the Lady Gaga interview. Only other one that came to mind was when Billy Joel came in.
  2. I usually try to keep work and Surly separate, but I have been working on this for a while and it is finally a done deal.  Signed a deal to be a sponsor of CCA Texas with our Seaglass Wine Company.  Those of you who are CCA members should see an email blast any day now.  Those of you who go to the bigger  banquets will probably see our wine served there.  The Sav Blanc is always tasty and the Rose just got a 90 pt rating from Wine Enthusiast for back to back years.

On separate note - the wind personally has it out for me and continues to kick my ass in 2019.  Those very rare days that I am not traveling or have kids events and think I can sneak down for a fishing trip, the wind and fronts seem to be giving me the big middle finger.  Went down to POC last week.  Weds was a complete bust.  Oyster boats were tearing up South Pass. It was windy and sun refused to come out and warm up the water.    Only saving grace was that Tuesday night, put the boat in the water at 6:30pm and made a quick run to Bill Day reef area.  Nothing was happening,.  On way in, right at dark, I saw bunch of birds diving, so we made quick decision to check it out.  Sure enough, bunch small trout sitting over this reef. Pretty much every cast was a 13-15 inch fish for 30 min or so.

POC crawfish festival is last weekend in April.  They do a really nice job at the event.

  3. Step son was recently moved to varsity baseball mid season as a freshman and has been starting in left field. He got a couple of nice base hits Friday night and made a comment at dinner tonight about hoping he gets moved up in the lineup (they had him batting 9th).

The wife, who has watched every game he has played since Tball, didn’t understand what he meant. Finally she admits that she thought players batted by their position and that he always was near the top of the lineup on the past because he was always Catcher or Pitcher.

  4. As for the rod in part 2 of your question - I think a 7 ft medium action spinning rod is probably the most versatile rod out there. Maybe check out All Star rods. They are usually pretty affordable and durable. I am guessing $89 or so. I got my wife a 7ft Castaway Taranis for under $100. It held up to me hooking a full grown pelican and reeling him in without breaking.

I love my Laguna Liquid rod I got at fishing show. I think it was $129.

  5. Taking some out of staters for some bbq in Austin soon. I would prefer to try something I haven’t tried before.

What’s the situation at Leroy and Lewis? Places to sit and eat? Assuming it is bring your own beer ?

How bad is the line on a Friday at LA BBQ?

I’ve already done Franklins, Stiles & switch, Valentina’s, Brown, mickelwaith, Freeman’s and Blacks.

  6. Just found this thread. Been playing Blackout. Played quads for a while before realizing there was solo matches. Only reason I like solo matches is I didn’t have anyone to squad with and I didn’t have to listen to retard teammates on microphone. Have actually won a couple of times too.

If you are still playing Bkackout, add me.

  7. I just learned that “Allie” was Pete’s gf in real life many years ago.

Also, I really enjoyed I’m Dying Up here. Didn’t realize that it was cancelled.

    She’s a Longhorn. I’ll be damned.
  8. Last night's episode had more filler than Caelynn's face.
When Colton went up to hug that producer, I really wanted him to jump up and wrap his legs around her. Seemed to be a theme this season.

When the producer hugged him, I told the wife that he was going to call her dad and ask permission to get engaged.
