  1. I still can't get over that they bought out Jimbo with zero plan in place moving forward. They are literally in a worse place now than keeping him another year or two. Or even letting him go after the holiday.
  2. The photo is Aaron Butler. An athlete (DB likely) who decommited from Colorado and is supposedly deciding between Washington, Arizona, and Texas tomorrow.
  3. Washington would have been left out.
  4. I think the first part should happen and is pretty likely to happen. That football will break out separate from other conference affiliations. Not all at once, and the regional B1G and SEC teams might not need to for a long time. I doubt the part on a unified media rights deal. Disparate media value is what is the driving force towards a stacked B1G and SEC. We had a unified media rights deal not too long ago, and, whether for more money or more exposure, the teams and conferences that could get better deals broke off of it. I'm sure there are multiple ways to structure payouts fairly, but there are too many voices in the room to convince everyone. And I think people underestimate the value over exposure over money to a lot of schools (look at SMU). I think one of the only ways to make this actually work would be a relegation system with media deals negotiated around each tier with payouts being "smoothed out" based on the past several years to avoid budget changes for teams that get promoted/relegated. The argument could at least be made that everyone has the opportunity to be on TV and make money and it's up to the team to win. The new permanent underclass will be more willing to swallow cuts if they feel that they at least control their own destiny. I don't know how you actually kickstart this system, though. No one will want to be the bubble team left out of the top division. Another "independent" selection committee?
  5. Yes because I think it's more about the sport itself than coaches or recruits. Your backup QB hopefully never plays a down, your 3rd WR might not get many targets, but your 3rd best OT might still be the starting at guard or center.
  6. I think the correct answer to this is that we are in a transitionary period where we don't fully know who can actually sustain a competitive NIL program or even what the landscape eventually looks like. There were a bunch of surprise teams who got their NIL together quickly, have hit road bumps, and I doubt will last (WVU, Arkansas, Miami). I think there have been obvious sleeping giants benefit already (Texas, FSU, USC). Some teams are pretending to have NIL operational at high level but are still using old methods to attract players (Bama, aggy). Some teams thought to be net losers in the system have made the transition from old networks quickly even though it might be mostly the same faces in the room (Georgia, Tennessee).
  7. Even older as he let Jaden Alexis stay with the team last year. There's a difference between a sad but understandable parting vs someone quitting on the team.
  8. He was also clocked at 22.4 mph. Worthy's top speed this year was 22.7 mph.
  9. If anyone, it was Livingstone we were taking for granite.
  10. All you guys after Wingo and Hampton sign with us:
  11. Those billboards are awesome. Neighborhoods and high schools putting up banners for where their seniors are going is a thing here in GA that I never saw in Texas.
  12. Wingo, Baker, and Hampton(maybe) are the only ones outstanding.
  13. It was an interception, but same-same.
  14. They'll likely play Quarters against us because they did it enough this year, and it's how they played us last year. It's a standard Cover 3 Match they run - not a Cover 7 (Rip/Liz) - so the basic elements will stay the same, but now with 2 safeties and one hook. It's definitely bend-and-keep-bending defense. They have a low sack rate, low havoc rate, high completion percent allowed. They are bad on third down and bad in the red zone. They like to keep everything in front and make you stay on the field for as long as possible and wait for you to mess up. They don't tackle very well for that style, but they have been able to get numbers to the ball to limit damage.
