  1. I think it is better than most midfields, but even if you don't it is still one extra conference game, a CCG against #2, and Bama OOC.
  2. This is a weird take. I'd trade schedules with just about any other team in the nation besides Minnesota.
  3. The ref on the field has never reviewed plays in college.
  4. It's been a few years but there's even a standing bar and some loungers in the lobby. However, it is not really a full setup inside - just enough to cool off without feeling unwelcome.
  5. Texas 45 Rice 10 Ewers 250 --- I think we burn clock most of the second half, but I also could see us accidentally scoring 60+.
  6. I like how we've gone from: "Collins played a couple of snaps at end, not sure in what context." To: "Collins must be able to generate pressure off the edge or we are doomed."
  7. Good list. I agree on the top 4. Not sure I'd call tOSU a pretender, but I do expect this to be Michigan's year. I do think Penn St along with Tennessee are worth mentioning. I'm glad someone else realizes KSU is a team this year. My vote in the PAC is Utah.
  8. PAC somehow got outmanuevered by Yormach. It's funny to think that 10 years ago PAC was thought to be the future conference of the remaining relevant B12 schools. Somewhere between Baylor being too Christian, LHN being too profitable, and the backdooring with Colorado; PAC decided suicide was the better option.
  9. There is so much irony in all these millenials trying to convince people that trap and mumble are still cool.
  10. This line of thinking 30 years ago would have gotten us Snow belting out "a licky boom boom down" over the crowd. Arena rock was already old when it started getting played in arenas and stadiums. It has nothing to do with being the new thing.
  11. Haha. Post Malone is from Texas.
  12. There was a time that our band played a brief snippet of Imperial March at times. Old 97s - State of Texas is one of the best intros we've had. The fit is perfect and the song is actually about the state/school. I don't know why we don't play more songs from a Texas band or with a Texas theme. Cowboys from Hell fits that. AC/DC - Thunderstruck fits it halfway but might be over-used (I actually haven't heard it in a fair bit). For chick songs when they must happen Brown-eyed Girl and Wagon Wheel are under utilized.
  13. 45-10, people will have anxiety over how Rice outscored us 10-3 in the 4Q.

    Fuck Big 12 refs

The Big XII Network idea never really got going enough to even get it in front of the major networks. The initial belief was that ADs were going to have to pay (or lose revenue) to get it started up and that was a non-starter enough to not even explore the idea.
  15. You remember correctly. I'm impressed that half this board thinks Jones is ass at tackle and wouldn't finish last season starting, and the other half have him easily starting over Williams and Perkins.
  16. I won't be there, but it actually does suck that the MOB isn't performing. Also, it's the weirdest controversy of all time for one school decide to sell their entire ticket allotment and then blame the home team for not selling them more tickets for their band when the game is already sold out.
  17. Tank Jackson, Poona Ford
  18. Counterpoint: Sweed and Pittman would've held onto the ball when it hit their hands.
  19. It's never bothered them in the past.
  20. Aren't they honoring the '63 team? Might have something to do with it.
  21. This is all true. I don't like the implication people are making though that this was somehow exploiting Oher, though. Oher is an now an ex-NFL player largely because the Tuoys provided him resources he needed at a critical time in his life. It was at the very least a mutually beneficial relationship. And even if it were some sort of cold business-like relationship. It's obvious who benefited more.
  22. There's plenty of non-sinister reasons to have a conservatorship instead of adoption. I imagine actually adopting a teenager who has runway from foster care isn't the easiest or most successful endeavor.
  23. It's hard to make sense of anything in practice reports. We played end with both Ojomo and Broughton quite a bit last year. Sorrell usually would sub out, and we'd give a 3-4 look. I want to say that sometimes Sorrell replaced Ovie and we'd give more of a currently-trending (at least in college) "heavy" 4-3 look. "Heavy" here referring to the alignment of a DE (very tight, nearly heads up over the tackle) moreso than his size. Sorrell and Sweat were usually the DEs in stack.
  24. This pleases me.
