  1. I have Texas 45-24 (-19 o/u 69) Early odds I see are -19.5 o/u 68.5 - dammit vegas is good.
  2. I'm putting how teams have moved, but in reality I ignored where I had team before. There are some early wins/losses that look better now and some that look worse, so I went for the complete reset: 1 Texas (+1) (win over #16) 2 Washington (-1) 3 Michigan (+3) (win over #22) 4 USC 5 Oklahoma 6 Ohio State (+5) (win over #20) 7 Florida State (-4) 8 Penn State 9 North Carolina (+4) 10 Utah (-1) 11 Duke (+1) 12 Oregon (+3) 13 Georgia (-3) 14 Washington State (+5) (win over #23) 15 Miami (NR) (win over #19) 16 Alabama (+7) (loss to #1) 17 Maryland (NR) 18 Missouri (+2) 19 Texas A&M (NR) (loss to #15) 20 Notre Dame (-13) (loss to #6) 21 Syracuse 22 Rutgers (-5) (loss to #3) 23 Wisconsin (NR) (loss to #14) 24 Louisville (NR) 25 Kentucky (NR) Thoughts on what are likely more controversial ranks: Texas #1 and Washington #2 - The Alabama win is looking real now. We at least know that Alabama has a top defense. I still think Washington might be the better team, but it's hard to look at the two schedules and not see that Texas has a clearly better resume. Oklahoma #5 - Their defense is real. The offense has been hit or miss, but it isn't bad. Is this even a controversial take anymore? They look solid. Georgia #13 - They've looked okay, but not great. This is among the worst schedules for the ranked teams. There's a voice telling me that maybe they will show better against good teams, but there's also one telling me that they could lose to an unranked team before they even get there (note that #25 Kentucky is the only UGA opponents actually ranked above, Tennessee and Ole Miss are arguable but have already lost). I guess I'm in "prove it to me" mode right now with this team.
  3. Refs just mailing in that false start lol.
  4. They've targeted Muhammed like 7 times now.
  5. Can we has Murphy now?
  6. Nice but get down in the endzone.
  7. He shouldn't be allowed to play from the hospital.
  8. I saw a good deal and grabbed Aub +275.
  9. Auburn +275 ML vs aggy
  10. Don't let y'alls Jerry/Cowboy hate ruin it for you. They are very similar. Emmitt even had hands in the early years.
  11. So the argument here is whether Bijan is more like: - LT, a straight line physical power runner or - Barry Sanders, a jump-cut speedster Fuck the offseason. Let me fix this for you: Bijan is a low runner with subtle lateral cuts that sllow him to maintain speed. He combines these with elite balance to slip or bounce defenders more often than directly power them over, but he does have enough power when warranted to create extra yards. He has enough acceleration for big play potential every snap, but it's not elite speed and he won't be able to outrun most defenses. If only there were an NFL Hall of Famer with four rushing titles and the all-time rushing title who had a long career in Texas during our lifetime who matches that description....
  12. I voted for Baylor because Art Briles mostly. If we just are going off fanbases, then Tech for sure.
  13. It's a safe bet that he does. It's not great to do early-season opponent-adjustments without them.
  14. The crazier part about this is that we have good drive efficiency ratings for both points and available-yards. Inefficient at plays, but efficient at drives. We are #11 OFEI right now and #9 DFEI, so not much difference. Our best phase though is special teams: #3 SFEI.

    Fuck Big 12 refs

I rewatched the game for whatever reason: 1) The spot was really bad. The linesman on that side got demolished, but it should have been a better spot regardless. BTW, it's not a reviewable play, but also, technically, any obvious error with significant game impact can be reviewed. Basically, it's a judgement call whether to review or not, but we aren't entitled to challenge it. Taking 5 minutes to decide something is not worth the time to review is so on brand. 2) I'm okay with the non-PI call on Sanders up the seam. The defender doesn't have to move out of position to provide a clean path to the ball. It doesn't look like there's any grabbing or excess pushing. The only thing that bugs me is that we definitely have been and would be called for this. 3) Speaking of which, the DPI call on Brooks(?) bad. For all the reasons stated above, but there's also barely any contact. I think this got called because the WR knew he was beat and gave up on the play. I don't think it was uncatchable, fwiw. It probably was actually uncatchable, but it was close enough that you don't rule it that way. 4) The Ewers TD thing was definitely the spike, He didn't really spike it, but he dropped it aggressively enough that it took a big bounce. It's not uncommon to have refs warn you for things like that.
  16. Texas 38 Baylor 17 TE/WR 222
  17. Why not Protect1+8? It seems the most fair approach as the schedules are most randomized while giving that one rivalry. Pods is just a smaller version of what is wrong with divisions.
  18. I'm not sure your definition of forgive matches the rest of society's. But I forgive you for that.
  19. Yeah. The body is weird in these situations. I played a couple sets of downs with a broken ulna - made a tackle along the way and ended it with an interception. Couldn't even lift my arm once I got to the sideline. What do people think happens - that Hunter and Deion are on the sideline checking WebMD for abdomen pain? If it still moves or bears weight or otherwise does it's function, then it is fine. If not, you go see the doc. If you still have your helmet when you leave, then it's fine with a little tape on it.
  20. They've also played good and close games compared to normal preseason stuff. Shootout vs CFP team, historical rivalry that was somewhat competitive (for week 2), and regional rivalry taken to OT. I don't really care for the hype or CU and watched at least some of each game because it was the best thing on. This was a good week to cash in with GameDay because the national interest will drop fast.
  21. The people who posted here are generally "football people" who aren't going to like it regardless of generation. I was talking more towards the crowd suggesting that less-interested students need some sort of laser light spectacular to draw them in.
