  1. What explains the phenomenon where the west side of the city is nice and expensive and the east side is poor and slummy. Its true for every city ive lived in and every city i know about
  2. Just picked up a bunch of croots. They also have Julian Lewis and Quannel X Farrakhan Jr lol
  3. Albon described what it was like driving against Verstappen. He said Verstappen likes an extremely quick front axle, perhaps the most extreme on the grid. So while each driver can tune their car differently, the baseline configuration and development path of RB is towards a twitchy car. If you fall behind Max in performance, you might want to push harder, which is riskier in a punishing car like that, so youre prone to making even more mistakes, and it creates this spiraling deficit. This is the reason it seems like his partners always get the boot - their relative gap continues to degrade. (except i think ricciardo was better but w/e)
  4. Hard times make hard men. Hard men make easy time. Easy times make soft men. <— we are here Soft men make hard time.
  5. Disney/Hulu: Offer valid for new and eligible returning Hulu and Disney+ subscribers (who have not been Hulu or Disney+ subscribers in the past 1 month); Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney Bundle subscribers are not eligible.
  6. The business group under which movies sit have been losing money for the last 3 years. This year that group is taking in less overall money, but are profit positive.
  7. My 60s oyster perpetual manual wind died. The seconds hand wont move if the crown is in screwed position. Itll move if crown is in adjustment position and theres slight pressure in the forward direction. Is this common mode of failure? Easy fix or am i looking at $1k for this?

  9. ESPN now puts him #6 QB prospect, behind the usual suspects and Drew Allar, ahead of Dillon Gabriel and Jaxson Dart. Stats they point out: #2 out of 129 QBs in most passes thrown below LOS. #3 in lowest YPA. and ~20th in lowest QBR while pressured (8.0).
  10. Not to rain on the hugfest here but all the PlayersTribune “letters” are ghost-written for the athletes.
  11. Playing 1/2-loss teams like Michigan and Ohio State in marquee bowl games isnt meaningless to me.
  12. Non-pro tip: if you dont know the cost basis, neither will the IRS
  13. Just saying, the confidence the fan base have this year of feeling like the team can win every game (even if they actually dont).... Mack Brown delivered that for over a decade. Very few people did that in recent memory besides Dabo, Stoops, and the Devil. Pete Carroll was a few years short. Lincoln Riley got half way there and fell down.
  14. Yeah, every October weekend as fans we'd get doused in the face with cold water... BUT the team would resume winning the rest of the schedule (mostly), and then end up in a nice Rose Bowl or Fiesta Bowl. And also between the 2 NCG appearances Texas had their numbers so...
  15. pretty sobering on existential level when you know exactly the end of a species. this is a photo of the last catarina pupfish. died in 2014. the last of its kind for all of eternity.
  16. Every year I was on campus and years afterward as a fresh alum, "my team" was one of the best in the country and could beat any team in any given week. Very few UT cohorts, or any other program's cohort, have the luxury of that feeling. For that, I'll be forever grateful to ole Mack.
