  1. if you actually break down the play and diagram over a youtube snapshot, it was actually a perfect throw and quinn ewers is the best tosser in the world.
  2. You: its so offensive to suggest players are "only as valuable as his alumni network allows him to be" Star CFB athletes: sign onto teams for 6-7 figure NIL payouts donated by alums You: how dare you dismiss players' aspirationsand value of education Maalik: leaves Duke for official visit to the University of fucking Kentucky Do you enjoy getting dickslapped by reality day after day?
  3. I bought the small propane Koda and 95% satisfied with it. If I were to do again, I might buy the larger Koda to get the L shaped burners for more even heat distribution, instead of a single backwall burner which creates a bigger thermal gradient. Heating of the pizza stone is ultra important and turning on the gas and walking away for predictable warmup is really useful. I don't think pellets or wood matter. The build quality and longevity of the Koda is great, as is its portability.

    Getting old sucks

okay i learned this one isnt my fault. apparently a zyn has the same nicotine of ~10x cigarettes. zyns come in 11mg or 6mg size. a typical cigarette has ~10mg of nicotine, but only 1-2mg are actually absorbed through smoking. zyns you absorb the whole thing. so big zyn = 5-->10 cig equivalent.
  5. Touchy boy, aint cha? Did a LSU sanitation guy shit on your Comm diploma? My statement wasnt a declarative ceiling of all players on their goals and ambitions. Its for players like Maalik, whose first, second, and third priority is football. And is an observable fact that he doesnt value the name on his degree very much if he's bouncing between schools, changing majors, window shopping Oregon State and now fucking Auburn. Why you so mad he didn't follow your footsteps
  6. Why are you insulting athletes who became realtors and podcasters? Funny, David Thomas worked in sports broadcasting despite not graduating in Comms. Simple question: do you think an athlete with the profile of Maalik, has a dependency on a college degree. You think he will eventually seek a job as a marketing analyst or health counselor, relying on his BS in Psych to get in the door? Yes, the academic component is very important to him, that's why he'll have been at 3 different schools in 3 years of study.... For 4/5* athletes, with NIL and Portal, CFB is now is a professional sport in all but name. Stop deluding yourself.
  7. It's not a certainty, but insiders and bloomberg reports are indicating it will be. There's some discretion in the selection process, but mostly its about mechanical factors (liquidity, size, etc) that determines inclusion. After all, the point of the index is to be a representative list (of the largest non-financial stocks on their exchange), and not necessarily an endorsement list. I think it'll be on the NDX because the company has software operations, and their treasury operations is dissimilar to the other traditional financial companies.
  8. Not to harp on my personal anecdote, but following the prior post, my old world money transfer still fucked. Money still hasn't returned to the sending bank, and now it's been over 3 weeks in limbo and 2 of those weeks where I didnt even know where it was. TBF this is anomalous, and ive done things like this successfully in the past... but there is a case to be made for an on-chain trace
  9. Microstrategy is about to get added to Nasdaq 100 index and thats kinda funny
  10. This sport with “big cigars” donating 6,7 digits to an athletic program — and now with pretty direct NIL payments — you think the generosity stops once a players eligibility run out? Guys will give extravagant money to get good seats and invitation to events but they actually dont care about the athletes? For fucks sakes, people here obsess with CFB so much they watch clips of high schoolers and track where they choose to go to college. In a world where people give jobs to their golfing pals kids, why do you find it implausible that a football star who plays on national TV and gets written about on ESPN gets favoritism for introductions, interviews, or even job placements? The plain fact is whether UT’s Comm is the best or the worst program in the world would do fuck all to change the career prospect of Maalik Murphy.
  11. you miss 100% of the pennystocks you dont yolo
  12. It does for an anonymous person, and if it's from Harvard. UT and even Duke is neither. Being a high-profile athlete opens many more doors. That's the entire point of the argument. *who I know you think it sounds slick but the nominative case is more proper. The subject of the clause is the people who graduated from Vanderbilt. Engineering 101.
  13. The fact that a non-zero quantity of people "has ever made big dollars in Advertising, Public Relations" does not mean any given person in A/PR will have likelihood of making big dollars. Crazy, I know. That Bayes dude knew everything.
  14. You: All Communications degrees matter. How dare you besmirch its good name! Also you: LSU alum work in sanitation. Top shelf logic there chief.
  15. Do they teach about anecdotes and statistical outliers in Communicatoins? Bill Gates made big dollars as a college drop-out. I advise all students to drop out. Academic credentials matter to senior WR #49 Thatcher Milton, who will not be hired on the grounds of being Thatcher Milton alone. A degree from Duke (as opposed to, say, LSU), or one from the best Communicatoins school in America, is not meaningful to a person of Maalik's profile. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
  16. For all the reasons that inform his choice of transfer destination -- skill development for possible NFL career, getting more NIL cash, joining a more high profile or successful team, etc -- the 'goodness' of a Duke degree matters the least.
  17. And Chipotle is a top tier fast-casual national chain. So what? An undergrad degree from Moodys by itself lands the holder a coveted job as... assistant digital content producer on the KXAN website? If he's a 3rd-stringer studying business with an offer to play for the UPenn Quakers or Alabama Tide... yeah, ride the the pine at Penn. Easy. If he's a starter with no prospect of an NFL career, he's going to be offered non football opportunities by connected alums who liked the fact of him being a QB, that's as good at Florida as it is at Duke. For a guy like Maalik, his football fame generates more value than the relative brand power of a Duke degree.
  18. People always say this about athletes but most of their degrees don't mean shit. He majored in Comm at UT and Psych at Duke, which by themselves aren't strong degrees. His non-athletic potential comes from a network high-powered alums, which exists in many sufficiently large schools.

    Getting old sucks

i was convinced my metabolism took a dive the day i hit 30, which it only did slightly, but when i hit the mike gundy it became precipitous. some days i could skip dinner just snacking on a few things. the other strange thing is i suddenly became sensitive to caffeine. used to drink loads of the stuff for the taste, never in my life knew it was like to feel a 'caffeine buzz'. now i could take a single nespresso (very mild 6g of ground coffee) and feel perceivably wired. also i tried a zyn the other day and had to sit down for a while lmao.
  20. you're really letting that boss get to you
  21. amusing to remember a time before smartphones where people would just believe any ol shit if it sounded mildly plausible. in college someone once shared a factoid that the most consumed protein globally was actually goat/sheep. we're western centric so we would think poultry and pork but goat/sheep are common in africa, middle east, south asia, etc, where they're really populous so globally it's #1. and i actually believed that stupid shit for years and might have even repeated it to others. without running off to find a computer or rifle through encyclopedias...how would you even check? people are still just as gullible today, but they have no excuse anymore.
  22. Whats funny is someone could think they got lost and clicked in the wrong thread
