  1. Whether climate changed or trended over time wasn’t a question. To most people I’d normally say “but you already knew that”. But its you, and you don’t know, because you lick rusty doorknobs for a hobby, so we’d have to draw it out: What were the annual climatic fluctuation over the last 4 decades in the cocoa growing regions? Did the acceleration only occur last few years? Was there an inflection in the trend? And did nobody involved in cocoa ever know that until now?
  2. Since 1843, the US treasury has always accepted voluntary donation. Can be cash, proceeds of asset sales, relief of bond obligations, etc... Fun quiz: approx how much has it received every year?
  3. Surly's leading economist also happens to be its foremost climatologist. Climate changed rapidly and suddenly, only in 2023. Because NPR told him so.
  4. 1 of 1000 small reasons why Windows sucks This is a lockscreen. With MacOS, if you put your finger on the fingerprint reader, it logs into the laptop. With Windows, if you put your finger on the fingerprint reader…absolutely nothing happens . You have to hit Ctrl+Alt+Del to get into log on mode. And THEN itll listen to the fingerprint reader. Why the extra step? Isnt it obvious if the reader is triggered, what user wants to do?
  5. Have the UT faculty failed in educating you? Has the UT faculty failed in educating you? Do answer that, dummy.
  6. Does she have a website that doesnt start with onlyfans.com? “The short bus crew, consisting of jimmyjazz and friends, aren’t particularly bright” You see how the subject “crew” is a collective noun in singular form (rather than “crews”) agreeing perfectly with the plural “aren’t”?
  7. Listen to Wayne who teaches writing, or Gartner — whom he cites — who authors books in writing, or the editors of the oldest published dictionary in America… …or to jimmyjazz? whaddayasay, fellas?
  8. Your command of English must be as good as it is of Economics. The verb agreement choice depends on context and/or region. Here’s UT Law faculty Wayne Schiess who “teaches legal writing, legal drafting, and plain English“: English is my 2nd language (out of 4). What’s your excuse?
  9. And now you know its occasionally out of service :taps head:
  10. Saw this funny badge on a volvo this weekend also a cherry red fiat 500 with a novelty license plate “TOMATO”. contemplated slowing down to take a photo
  11. Unfortunately the cabal consist of more than 1 dummy. Hence pluralizing of the collective noun.
  12. People are so goddamn disgusting. Walking my dog around a gas station and restaurant, where lidded trash containers are plentiful. and around the bushes there are endless cups and cans and tissues and even a goddamn filled diaper. Straight to jail for these people. Right away.
  13. Ironically the best headlights ive used are older systems with fewer zones. A rental Opel with their first-gen matrix lamps were magic. Favorite headlights were Xenon era with slightly purplish hue. My S2k had bright ass beams with amazingly sharp cutoffs. LEDs so far suck but the matrix make em really useful.
  14. If you’re 45 year old senior fixed income manager, the average effr during your entire working tenure is….1.5%
  15. Have the low-information cabal raised their pitchforks against the Chocolate Barons yet
  16. Me on Stephen A Smith (even if its merely his schtick):
  17. Perversely they need the military to protect the value of the dollar that they need to cheaply raise more of to pay for the dollars they already raised Cuz if theres some pirates fucking about blocking trade and commerce (thats conducted in $) you know the Armada is coming out 🛥️ 🦅
  18. Seriously cant tell if the second person is a Judy Dench type lady or Elton John type dude

  20. Average age of senators and congressfolk is literally 60+. Theyre ignant as shit on economics and have no personal risk pegged to Tomorrows Problem, which the consequence of runaway debt is. They’ll be retired, fat, and sufficiently wealthy. On a digression, if anyones been tracking metals lately, silver and gold has been on a tear
  21. Something about negative pressure deltas and laminar airflow and coriolis effect and reynolds numbers
  22. 1. Running into a string of red lights. 2. Cabin buffeting when only 1 window is rolled down. Wife and I can never agree on when.
