  2. In today's "things that make you feel old" episode... youtube told me that this happened seventeen years ago
  3. O’Malley is likely the tallest person on the roster at that weight class. So hes not giving up anything physically. Welterweight is 170, and most of those guys walk around 190-200. (Think of what Usman or Woodley looks like…). Take a guy like Niko Price who is 7-7-2 in the UFC. He would put O’Malley in the hospital. Power doesn’t translate **3** weight classes up. Remember O’Malley couldn’t even put away Kris Moutinho. Chito shouldn’t have even had the title shot after losing to Sandhagen so recently…meh.
  4. I bought 1 car new in the US and they played this exact same game with me. We “agreed” on the vehicle purchase price. I wanted the manufacturers advertised 0.99% financing deal, so the “salesman” handed me off to the “finance” guy, who incrementally wanted to add looney options and all that bullshit, and then rolled onto the “how much do you want to pay per month” game. With each item I refused he walked away for 10 minutes with to fake-check “with the manager”. The absolute zaniest part of the ordeal was when I said I want the national rate advertised by the manufacturer, and he said there was no such thing. And when I challenged him that it was on their and the manufacturers public website, he reluctantly browsed to it, and then ZIPPED through the part of the page where the terms were specified. “you see, it says nothing on the site”. It was the most stupefyingly childish negotiation tactic I couldnt even have conceived of. I wanted to just walked off, but because I had *already* wasted my time from the previous games, it was a sort of marginal/brinksmanship thing that kept me there to close on the whole damn thing. Plus the car was effectively free because I bought it to qualify for employer-car-subsidy. ** Another big plus for Teslas direct to consumer model: buy the car at fixed price on the web. No middlemen. No funny stuff. Same price for every customer at time of purchase.
  5. The nuclear rod in it is spent.
  6. Thanks gents. That was contrary to my expectation because I thought the whole flipping business was built on ROI through renos. I might then simply swap some appliances and fixtures to give it a superficial boost and because we can do it ourselves.
  7. firstly samsung products suck fucking ass. secondly their website is even worse, although this website style is getting common. i just want to see the specs. i click the obvious bold Specs navigation link on top left... it skips me to this section of the page with reviews. i scroll up and down the page from there.. no specs. turns out you gotta expand that table (boxed in red) to see the goddamn thing. cmon man
  8. Your mom’s spirit animal.
  9. Totally generic and vague question but….is the common wisdom to renovate/upgrade before house sale, or sell as-is? Our rental has bathroom and kitchen that is quite below our personal standards, but compared to market condition is par or just below. The inconvenience of reno is we’d have to supervise it from afar…and I dont *think* local market would value the reno. Doing a minimal/partial reno seems wasteful because it requires the same overhead inconvenience (contracting, time, etc).
  10. …but the 747 has ended its production and is less and less in service. for that i has a sad 🥲
  11. the theory of google going away soon….sounds good; doesnt work. from 2019 to 2023, search ad revenue went from 100B to 205B. yt ads 20B to 31B. yttv (and other subs and businesses) 21B to 33B. cloud 13B to 35B. search was the biggest gainer (2x) after cloud (3x). but in profitability, search has an insane 50% operating profit. all the other businesses, including cloud, run at a loss! cost per impression — or how much they charge for ads — remain constant, ie its been as effective for advertisers over time. so search continues to print cash and its not going to change anytime soon. imo the flying experience has gotten better. 10-15 years ago, you can pay for the best seat on the plane and half the time it was a recliner. now, flat beds everywhere, some even ensconced in secluded pods. on united xcont “premium service”…they still had to bring you a personal media player device! i instead brought along ipod and laptop full of movies. nowadays i get by with gigantic IFE selection available on every carrier.
  12. When you want to subvert late-stage capitalism because you’re poor, but you’re still greedy and consumerist…

  16. Legality varies by state. You can report the merchant to the processing company. https://usa.visa.com/content/dam/VCOM/download/merchants/surcharging-faq-by-merchants.pdf Ultimately using a card is a convenience (no dealing with cash, 30 day float, purchase protection, rewards, etc) so has to be paid one way or another. In Europe theres basically no free debit or credit cards, and any rewards that exist are super meagre. Surcharges and fees are all a matter of consumer psychology.
  17. Well everybody knows that Kate Middleton got a botched brazilian butt lift at Royal London Hospital and died. What this thread presupposes is…maybe she didnt?
