Do any of you regularly use your EV on gravel or country roads. I'm thinking about upgrading my wife's ride to an EV but we have 3 miles each way to town on gravel. Depending upon the recency of the graderman, the road can be rough. I'm worried about vibrations shortening circuitboard and battery life.

It's all solid-state electronics and automotive-graded stuff.  Consider normal cars have lots of circuitry and computers, too.  I wouldnt be concern about vibration-induced wear.

It’s unfortunate because Tesla has the most mature product on the market by a mile and ultimately that’s what my concern boils down to. But I personally am not interested at this time.

Like someone said, my impression is that Ford and Hyundai/Kia are next farthest along.

That seems correct. I know people with Ford E and Volvo/Polestar and Hyundai/Kia products.  They're good but they all have software and user-experience niggles here and there.  Due to their lack of qualification for the EV credit, they just dont seem a very good deal, especially if you only need a putt-around car.

So if you dont want a new T***(pretty screaming deal), just get something used like a eGolf or something and drive it into the ground. You still get that silent zippiness.

Or if you dont mind the spend, fuck it and go Taycan.  If you want a new normal car, Hyundai has the longest warranty out of that peer group?

Alonso said he likes their trajectory. And Alonso is the best. So it must be true because you can't argue against Alonso.

I do like Alonso, generally speaking, but he ain't winning shit in that seat.

He thought the same about Alpine, too.

Cmon, somebody put this old dog in a good car 😪😪😪

Is winter still worth it to visit Copenhagen or Stockholm? How cold does it get there?

Copenhagen yes because it's on the continent and winters are a bit milder. Nothing you can't survive with a mid layer (fleece or thin down) and an outercoat, plus gloves. Or a single puffer jacket and long sleeve shirt.

For outdoorsy scenic stuff, I suggest summers are better because you get greenery and way more daylight. Of course many people like the romantic idea of the Scandinavian winters too....

McLaren is only 8 points behind in the WCC now. This persistence in staying with checo is really paying off.

No kidding. 4 victories difference yet only single digit points ahead lol. Ferrari is not too far behind. 1 DNF from verstappen and Ferrari can claw ~30 points back just like that

  6. Funniest thing about red bull no longer providing the fastest car is verstappen bitching about all the shit that he himself does: not leaving space, moving under braking, etc.

My guess is with the pressure from Norris hes going to shunt him off one of these races.

Stenberg is hot, but not very talented. A dime a dozen in Hollywood. I doubt we’ll hear from her again.

While true and true, her politics are aligned with Hollywood, so if she wont be heard from again, it wouldnt be for that reason.

I recently picked up the different beans from Onyx which I was excited to try. All three basically taste tart. I didn't get any of the coffee flavors. I don't typically like real fruity cups , leaning towards chocolate/caramel flavors.

I know Onyx typically roast lighter than they are designated, e.g. two of the ones I ordered are "dark" roasts and one is a medium. None of them is even close to dark roast. More of a light/light medium.

They don't taste like a light roast though, they taste tart.

I use the Tetsu pour over method someone mentioned above and I love how much flavor it pulls out of the coffee...game changer. Hasn't helped with these though.

I've heard a finer grind might help, so I'm about to try that. Any other suggestions?

The flavors extracted from coffee is a transition. Tart fruit comes out first, then it mellows to a balance, then acrid burnt notes.

If you taste too much fruit, extend the water to coffee ratio.

Finer grind also exposes more surface area and allow pulling of more flavors beyond the initial sour notes.

Hotter water similarly increases extraction.  All 3 are broadly and directionally similar but they have some interaction on oneanother and 2nd order effects.

  9. For 1 week you should do 2 destinations, at most 3. In this region I suggest 1 urban city and 1 outdoor region/tour.

Copenhagen is the most vibrant and cosmopolitan city. Oslo is about the forest and fjord surrounding the city but not tue city itself.

Theres a popular tour called Norway in a Nutshell that combines trains buses and ferries that does a very good rapid sampling of the lower half of the country. Probably the best base for an itinerary that you can expand and fill as many days as you have.

No comment on anything relating to cruises
