  3. I imagine most people don't know what real bullets hitting their house sounds like. Could someone outside shooting a paintball gun be mistaken for someone shooting a .22? I believe so.
  4. 100 days to kickoff? Woo hoo!!! I can't wait to watch the people who mange to fuck up the "Countdown to Kickoff" thread tomorrow!

    Sammiches

I probably should keep this to myself (lunch line is already bad enough) but Bella Donna Subs is reasonably priced and has really good cheese steak, reuben, and Italian beef sandwiches.
  7. This. Bobby Layne is in the fucking HOF: https://www.profootballhof.com/players/bobby-layne/ He certainly qualifies as top 5 all time.
  8. I was under the impression that it is a bad idea to bring a knife to a gun fight.
  9. Aging steel is being identified as the cause. https://www.expressnews.com/news/local/article/Aging-steel-suspected-in-dam-failure-at-Lake-13852316.php Note: "similar spill gate collapse occurred in 2016 at Lake Wood, 4 miles west of Gonzales, after structural steel inside that gate failed."
  10. I believe those are Bear Trap crest gates where valves are used to control the filling or emptying of a chamber which is utilized to raise or lower the gate utilizing hydrostatic pressure. Typically there is a pin system along the top which has to be removed to allow the gate to collapse in the down position. That isn't what happened here. It looks like the upstream bearings gave out and the whole gate rotated and flipped. You can see the upstream gate leaf break loose and float downstream. The downstream leaf looks like it remained hinged and submerged causing the noticeable turbulence.

    Tacos

I'm going to presume everyone already knows about Tacodeli & Torchy's (not my favorites, but very popular). Papalote is really good (Alambres for the win), has multiple locations, and a great lunch special. El Chilito is solid and also has multiple locations. Rosita's Al Pastor is just fucking great.

A few I haven't seen mentioned: Hut's makes a pretty good burger; P'Terry’s is consistently good; & I've always liked Hatcreek
