  1. Don Eladio has aged quite poorly over the years.
  2. and that scene was met with the jlaw.gif reaction that it deserved. in general it's the BB Universe's dedication to realness and at least plausible believability that helps separate these shows from other inferior shows (like when i was reading the Ozark thread yesterday and i was reminded of the scene where some cartel guys fill an SUV with like 300 rounds of ammo and nobody died).
  3. the fact that Lalo left the secret bathtub door wide open should have been a pretty big clue for the bad guys.
  4. i thought it was a good episode, but it didn't feel like a season finale to me, it just felt like it moved the story forward, like there should still be another episode next week. and i didn't like that it ended in a cliff hanger, especially because of how notoriously long BCS's off seasons are. oh well.
  5. At the end of the day LeBron wants to be a mogul, and Michael Jordan wants to crush your soul. Even if you're on his team.
  6. after reading the last few pages this morning it appears that everyone now thinks this is a dumb show with terrible writing. been that way since season one, btw, and only got worse. the show had promise, but the writing (and lighting) are terrible. i'd like to see Ruth and Bateman worming together again on a different show with better writing.
  7. give me a break. do you really believe that that season/postseason plays out the exact same way if Jordan is a fully committed professional basketball player for the entire season? i sure hope not.
  8. he was going to play at tOSU. no doubt he deeply regrets foregoing those two semesters (if that) in Columbus.
  9. "Did you poop your pants on the set of Cougartown?" "That shouldn't matter." "This is why we don't hang out!"
  10. Elroy was an awesome addition to the show. He would have fit in seamlessly in seasons 1-3.
  11. season 4 was the original GoT Season 8. unbelievably bad. season 5 was better (from what i remember) with Harmon back, but i haven't watched it since it came out. Season 6 wasn't bad at all, just don't expect to feel like you're watching Community.
  12. also Revolution512 never went to Texas, and it's hilarious how often over the years he's insinuated that he's an alum. it should be no surprise that he's someone who's both clueless and condescending at the same time.
  13. you're still missing the point. the point is not, "zomfg $250k is so much money, gb iii is gonna buy a private island!!!". when you scoff at the money he'd make, you're doing so in comparison to him going to college for free for a few months in a time where there might not even be a basketball season at all. you act as if what he's passing up on is inherently worth more than the $250k he'd be making in base salary + all of the benefits of becoming a professional and being able to profit off of his likeness, and that's just dumb.
  14. i don't know what it says about a UT education that so many UT alums can't wrap their head around the idea that their situation and GB III's situation are not analogous, particularly when considering that you all have already gone to UT and loved it, whereas GB III still might commit to fucking Auburn for all we know. Your love for UT was built from your time spent there, and then it's grown even larger over time through supporting Texas athletics as a die hard alumnus. GB III does not feel the same way you do, and even if he were to go to UT his freshman year would be *nothing* like yours. Do you guys even understand that being a major D-1 athlete is a full time job? the situations are not analogous, and GB III would be stupid to go to college right now. Also, to anyone trying to downplay the money- stop; just stop; that's so stupid it's embarrassing. "well $400k isn't actually $400k after taxes and fees, so I really don't see why this 18 year old would be want a measly $250k over the amazing experience of pretending to be a college student for like 6 months." THE FUCK are y'all talking about?! Jesus. Not to mention endorsement deals, being able to make money off of his own likeness, professional training and coaching, the connections he'll make, and the fact that his dream since he was a kid has been to play in the NBA, and not to come to Texas for half a year.
  15. yeah that was awesome. I'm no fan of Joe Buck (who is?), but that was great.
  16. god, this show has so many small bits that are so good. I'm on the episode where Chang moves in with Jeff (and where Liverpool plays Manchester Untied at 12:30 am local time), and i'd totally forgotten about the bit with Chang and all of the saws. the show is very similar to Parks and Rec in this way- they had Harris Wittels writing the most hilarious, irreverent bits for them, and I feel like someone in the Community writers room must have a gifted mind for that kind of stuff just like Wittels, because Community has a ton of these small/hilarious bits that pack a big comedic punch into a very limited time frame.
  17. it makes zero sense for this kid to go to school. he needs to go pro.
  18. Strong candidate for Hood Shenanigans of the Year:
  19. Maybe it's because I was still in eighth grade, but when I was 18 years old there's zero chance you could have gotten me to turn down $400,000 plus endorsements plus becoming a professional just to go to college for a few months to play a season that might not even happen.
  20. Hey Derek, you know what's great for shoulder pain? If you lick my ballsack.
