  1. It wasn't made public, but JT was playing while really hurting his entire senior year. He had really bad hip problems, and had to jog down court with arm at his side so that his hip didn't move around/get displaced. He was a shell of his former self by then.
  2. i don't disagree with you, i've just observed that, for whatever reason, it's very rare for a guy to win two years in a row. I think LeBron wins this year because he's 35 years old and having one of his 2-3 best seasons.
  3. i think AD and Bron win DPOY and MVP respectively.
  4. he's not going to win both, and he may not win either one. LeBron is going to make a major surge in MVP contention from here on out, and for whatever reason the voters just don't like to give it to the same guy two years in a row. hes also not going to win DPOY (imo). His steals and blocks are down, and there are other guys having monster years who are going to win more votes than Giannis.
  5. we've taken a nosedive in the GBIII sweepstakes. I'll be in complete shock if he picks Texas at this point. Auburn, UK, and Memphis seem to be his final three, although technically Texas and Michigan have not been eliminated yet.
  6. hopefully the parade route hits Pflugerville.
  7. if Jase Febres doesn't get hurt then Shaka is a dead man walking right now. so weird to think about.
  8. Shaka has recruited better than 8/9 of his league opponents, and yet he's finished 10th (dead last), 6th, and 6th in the league. In the last 4 years he's brought in better recruiting classes than all but maybe 4-5 programs (KU, UK, Duke, and...??), and yet Texas has one tourney appearance and zero tourney wins in that time. There's really no way you can objectively look at his time/record here and not conclude that he's done an appallingly poor job, just like Charlie Strong.
  9. Shaka brings in consecutive recruiting classes ranked 6th, 6th, and 8th nationally (in *basketball*, where there's only five guys on the floor and even one good player can have a huge impact) and he proceeds to lead those classes to 4-14, 8-10, and 8-10 records in the conference. three full years removed from that first class and this year will be his first year to go .500 in the conference. Shaka has been every bit as disappointing and underperforming as Charlie Strong ever was. Shaka's teams have had way more talent (particularly per player) and yet they are performing just as poorly as Charlie's did.
  10. this was the fourth time that an Arsenal player had his leg fractured/broken on a dangerous challenge in a game being reffed by Mike Dean. Only two were called fouls, and only one received a yellow card. this was not a yellow or even a foul in Mike Dean's eyes: this however did earn a yellow card from Dean: fuck Mike Dean.
  11. yeah i'm liking it to this point. not a bad start.
  12. a miracle from God. Shaka is who he is. for me to be "all-in" on a guy who i KNOW isn't the guy would require divine intervention. especially when Beilein is just sitting there for the taking. i mean, what would it take from you to become "all-in" on Charlie Strong?
  13. totally mind boggling. we *were* the best team in America, there was no question about it. We were deep, talented, athletic, and we were running teams out of the fucking gym. Like, winning by 30 and/or scoring 100 points on the regular. We started something like 16-0 didn't we? And then we lost two in a row and the bottom just fell out. the vibe around the team was toxic. it only got worse and worse and worse until the team was finally taken out back and shot by Wake Forest in an 8 vs 9 game. just the worst, most painful season of my life.
  14. Too many great characters either died, had their roles reduced, or were sent off into these long, uninteresting story lines. think about these characters and their roles from seasons 1-4, and then after: Tywin Lannister Tyrion Khaleesi Jon Snow Arya Littlefinger Cersei Oberyn Martell Lady Olenna Stannis Baratheon Reinli Baratheon to name a few. Those characters, and their gravitas, and their ability to carry a scene, and GRRM's amazing writing got replaced with dragons, zombies, zombie dragons, and the most hackneyed, lazy, trite writing imaginable. for me the noticeable decline started around season five, and it only got worse from there on out.
  15. i do too, but i still agree with PB that the show spent too much time on all of that, for my taste anyway. there was an obvious expectation that this would be a show about Saul Goodman, and it's just taken way too long to actually get to where Saul Goodman exists. and i hate to belabor the point, but like 80% of this show is not worth a second viewing, so it makes it even harder wait all of these years just to get to Saul Goodman without at least being able to go back and enjoy binge watching the series while we wait.
  16. yeah i got no issue with what Dier did considering the circumstances. i do however have an issue with every single defensive minded Arsenal player breaking/tearing his bones and ligaments all the time. Getting pretty old.
  17. the show got shitty well before the Battle of the Bastards, they just were able to still drop in a great episode or two such as BoB. still, seasons 5 and 6 were not on par with 1-4, then 7 fell off even more (save a couple of episodes), and then S8 was just like a cruel joke that completely undid everything that had come before it. still, this idea that the show maintained greatness and then fell off a cliff is just plain wrong. it started going downhill years before S8.
  18. languid is how i would describe it. Mavs fans won't like hearing this but it reminds me of D Wade. he can lull you to sleep with how calm he moves, and then bam, he makes one move and you're toast. of course it helps when they have to respect everything from your step-back 25 footer to your dribble drive to your pull up game.
  19. they have the 8th beat defense of all time. barring the whole team going cold for an entire series, they will be in the Finals. teams will try to force them to shoot jumpers to win, it it won't matter. they have enough shooters around Giannis + a seriously great defense; they will represent the East in the Finals.
  20. ^^^ young Klay Thompson, at least offensively.
  21. It's gonna be a Krul Krul summer for Tottenham. thanks, i'll be here all week. seriously, i'm unemployed, i'm gonna be here every day.
