  1. WVU is somehow still #14 in kenpom.
  2. here's the thing about greggym: he and cameltoe are the two posters on this board who are so over-the-top cartoonish and biased with every single post they make that it's impossible to take either one seriously. that said, with cameltoe, there is some mystery as to whether or not he's the world's most dedicated troll, or if he actually believes the shit that she says. with greggym. we *know* that the guy who has literally never criticized the HC and who has an excuse for everything actually believes what he's saying. and beyond that, he actually believes that he's the smartest person here. If Texas made the tourney and Shaka started five walk-ons and never gave a minute of PT to a scholarship player greggym would not only defend and excuse it, he would insult anyone who was critical of the decision. It's sad.
  3. was just coming here to talk about AJ. pretty unbelievable how well he's playing considering he still looks like a shell of his former self. for those who don't remember, this is what AJ looked like in 2017: This is supposed to be in the NBA right now, and was on track to be a first round pick, and possibly even a lottery pick before the leukemia derailed his life and career. he should be the biggest story in college hoops, he really should. unfortunately for him he has one of the worst coaches in major college basketball, and his team isn't good enough for him to get the recognition he deserves. i'd love nothing more than for us to get a new coach and have a real special year next season, led by AJ. He deserves it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. wrong, all coaches are infallible scholars and gentlemen who are simply misunderstood and unappreciated by fans, who are all know-nothing idiots.
  5. if anyone is jonesing for a quick hit, might i recommend S4, E1, "Two Swords". Starts off with a Tywin Lannister scene (god he was the man), and ends with Arya and The Hound a the Tavern together. Great fucking episode.
  6. he's the best passer in the game today, and he will go down as one of the 2-3 greatest passers ever. he's Magic Johnson level. he's a savant.
  7. lol, wow. i said 14 points, it was 13.7; i said 6 rebounds, it was 5.9; i said he shot 42% from three and i was off by one thousandth of a point; i said he shot 90% from the line, it was 89%. holy shit, you really got me there.
  8. is today the last day of the regular season?
  9. •Prince Ibeh- couldn't see the floor, forced into action when Cam Ridley goes down, ends up being named the Big XII DPOY. •Jericho Sims- couldn't see the floor, forced into action when Mo Bamba goes down, averages a double double in league play. •James Banks- not only recruited to Texas by Shaka, but also named to Shaka's loaded Team USA. Shaka ends up refusing to use him, including egregiously leaving him on the bench in OT vs Duke, in favor of having Eric Davis Jr in the post trying to guard Marvin Bagley. Banks transfers to Georgia Tech where he's been a starter for two years, averaging 10.5 pts, 8 reb, and 3 blocks per game. •Royce Hamm- also left on the bench against Duke in favor of EDJ. Has been a gamer every single chance he's gotten, bringing energy, rebounds, and shot blocking. Can't get any PT until an injury crisis forces him into action. •Jordan Barnett- Never got a look from Smart who preferred Tevin Mack, a guy who couldn't stay out of trouble and who wasn't even any good when he and Barnett were teammates. Barnett transfers to Mizzou where he averages 14 points and 6 rebounds per game on 42% shooting from deep and 90% from the FT line. greggym, you're a fucking moron and you should definitely leave the board again, only this time don't come back.
  10. Dude this conversation has been going on ever since Shaka benched all of his available big men in OT vs Duke three years ago, this is nowhere close to being a conversation that started this season. here is a SUPER long post i made on this subject more than two years ago, which by the way, starts off with me advocating for Royce Hamm. and finally, greggym is an insulting, belligerent prick who blindly slurps Shaka Smart, while being one of the least informed, most hostile posters here. his insulting and frankly retarded post claiming that Shaka wasn't forced into using his bench by our rash of injuries is simply his latest "Shaka is great and all of you are stupid" post. that's all he does. the fact that he disappeared from this board when Texas was doing awful, only to suddenly reappear after a four game win streak, slurping shaka and insulting other posters, says everything there is to know about him.
  11. The fuck?! I've been Hamm's biggest supporter his entire career here, I can't even count the number of times i've posted that he should have been receiving more PT his entire career here. That's a fucking preposterous claim. Also, how was anyone able to bag on Cunningham's play when he never played to begin with?
  12. more evidence that you're fucking clueless and dead wrong: Will Baker gets PT all season long, has the worst season by any player in NCAA history. Brock Cunningham gets zero run all year, is forced into action in our toughest, most important games, and is an instant impact guy. but yeah, you're 100% right that Shaka was just waiting for Brock to be ready. 🙄
  13. also, this shows how completely clueless you are, as recruiting talented players only to never actually play them is pretty much the #1 thing that Shaka Smart is known for, aside from finishing under .500 in the conference every year. it's been a major topic of discussion around here, particularly lately since he's suddenly being forced to play guys who used to never play. but hey, you played at Texas 70 years ago, so that means you're right and the rest of us/the cold hard facts are wrong. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  14. okie dokie. you're out here claiming that people were bashing Brock Cunningham this season, which is just plain fucking false. the truth is that people were asking all sorts of valid questions about him such as, "why did he start the season opener only to never play again?" or, "Why did we offer Cunningham if he's never going to play?" that's it. not that you would even know what anyone here has been talking about since you've been conspicuously absent from this board ever since Texas started dropping games left and right while your boy Shaka got owned night in and night out. but now that we've won four games in a row (first winning streak of 3+ games since Shaka's first season here) you're suddenly back, talking your usual brand of clueless, unintelligible, angry shit. great stuff greggym, as always.
  15. i honestly don't have a clue what the fuck it is you're even trying to say here, or why you're so upset. but you stay angry greggym. keep doing you.
  16. The OU games under Herman have been starkly different experiences for me than they were for most of my life, even when we were awesome under Mack Brown. There is no longer a clear and ubiquitous mental edge for OU, and in fact, I'd say that Texas has been the tougher/angrier/meaner team in the rivalry since Herman got here. OU has had all of the sexy star players, the Kyler Murray's, Hollywood Brown's, and that doughy, pasty retard from Lake Travis. Our guys have been the discounted and slept on underdogs every year. To see Texas playing with such a noticeable edge against OU has been fucking awesome, and it's a huge reason why these people who crush Herman mystify me.
  17. The 2018 Texas football season: After losing to Maryland week 1 and falling out of the polls, Texas went 10-3 in its remaining games, losing 42-41 to #12 WVU, 38-35 at OSU, and to OU in the conference title game. Those were the losses. Texas also beat four ranked teams, and only one of the victories (an upset win over #5 OU) was by less than two TDs. We ended the season by defeating Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, amd were ultimately ranked 9th in the final AP poll. That ^^^ is the best season Texas football has had since 2009 when Mack Brown was still kicking ass. Take away the Mack Brown era, and the 2018 Texas football season is probably one of the 6 or 7 best seasons UT football has had since the late 1970's. And yet some of you psychos are seriously in here talking about Tom Herman's performance like he's Charlie Strong, Shaka Smart, or Bob Weltlich. You people are fucking nuts. We've gone from 6-7, 5-7, and 5-7 before Tom Herman to 7-6, 10-4, and 8-5, including three dominating bowl wins and a *MUCH* more competitive rivalry with OU than we've had in years. And that's not to mention that we're finally back to seeing players winning individual awards and post season superlatives, more so than we have since the 00's. The team is back in the top 25 with regularity and the program is *clearly* in better shape than its been in over a decade. Am I 100% *convinced* that Tom Herman is a top flight college head coach who will be leading Texas into the CFB Playoffs with regularity? No, i'm not convinced that he is that guy; but i'm also going to do everything i can do distance myself from you morons who incessantly curse his name and claim that he's fucking terrible. you guys are just flat out wrong, and the run that Texas football had during the 2000's appears to have warped your sense of reality.
  18. you must not remember last year very well, as it was one of the easier brackets to predict in recent memory. We had plenty of great games in the second and third weekend because it was all of the best teams that we knew were good playing each other. Auburn was #11 in kenpom and one of the hottest teams in the country heading into the tournament, going 10-1 in their last 11 (only loss was @Kentucky) and winning the SEC tourney along the way. Tech was #5 in Kenpom, didn't have a loss to a team ranked lower than 35th on the season, and had the best defense *ever* in the Kenpom era. last year's tourney wasn't wacky at all. This year on the other hand there are zero truly great teams, and pretty much any of the kenpom top 25 could beat Baylor, KU, Gonzaga, or Duke on any given day without it being all that surprising. Included in Kenpom's top 15 are the likes of Baylor, Dayton, Creighton, SDSU, Maryland, BYU, and Seton Hall. You gonna tell me you feel confident predicting how these teams will fare one the tourney? I don't think so. This is a down year for college hoops that features more parity and mystery than any season in recent memory. There really is no "chalk" this year like there normally is. The field is wide open.
  19. well, when you refuse to play guys who're on scholarship, they are being wasted. lucky for us, an injury crisis forced Shaka's hand, and whaddaya know- these guys have a lot to contribute.
  20. it's obviously going to be Henry and Bergkamp. In all seriousness, I thought that SAF should be the first person to be inducted, but they don't seem to even be considering managers at this point.
  21. the team of Schoening, Way, and Wallace was as good as it gets.
  22. First off, TCU fans suck at rushing the floor. Second, LMAO at a bunch of grown ass men taking part in storming the court, recording on their phones and all giggling and shit. Shit was hilarious...ly sad.
