  1. I hate to say it, but to this point losing Febres has been addition by subtraction. Relatedly, Sims getting injured has been serendipitous for Shaka, forcing him to give PT to his young guys who it turns are actually ready to produce if given the chance.
  2. man AJ can still hoop, even though he's still not where he used to be physically.
  3. When is the last time Will Baker has seen the sun?
  4. That was good D by Cunningham. bad call.
  5. that is to say that those are the types of names we will be going after assuming we don't actually get Beilein, who is by all appearances the clear best available candidate.
  6. Supportive pops keeping it real: https://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh34e43628uJ4jj5Id
  7. god i love our football fans and their incredibly thin skin, overwhelming sense of entitlement, and complete lack of objectivity. listening to the way so many of you talk about program like we're Alabama is hilarious. to paraphrase Mike Leach, "oh poo poo, the mighty Texas Longhorns; fuck you." our football program has been largely irrelevant for *four of the last five decades* and you guys are seriously in here talking about regularly winning the conference and competing for national titles like it should be very baseline of what's considered even competent performance by our HC. same fans who don't even bother to show up to home games unless USC or ND comes to town. get fucking real with these bombastic expectations, and all of the indignant, self righteous anger aimed at Tom Herman as if he's Charlie Strong or Shaka Smart.
  8. the number of shots that he hits like this is just criminal:
  9. when LeBron was in his second year you didn't hear anybody saying, "yeah well i need to wait a few years and see this guy win a few titles before i say that he's better than Kevin McHale."
  10. except that he's better than Dirk at basketball, and we don't need to wait a whole bunch of years to see that.
  11. I don't know who you guys think we're capable of getting, but Turgeon would be as good of a hire as pretty much any other realistic candidate. We aren't hiring anyone who's won a title, and we're probably not even hiring anyone who's even been to an Elite 8. Hiring a guy who has proven that he can win at a major D-1 level is as good as we can hope for, and there isn't some long and distinguished list of available candidates who fit that bill. Turgeon, Musselman, Howland, etc- this is most likely the class of coach we will be choosing from. Sucks, but it's what's out there.
  12. dope contribution to the thread bro.
  13. I'll come out and say right now that I believe in Tom Herman, and I think that he will/should be the head coach at Texas for years to come. But not everybody feels that way. So stake your claim now. All votes are public. Is Tom Herman the man for the job?
  14. shit, that sounds like good news to me. he would be a massive upgrade over Shaka, and if he isn't feeling the love in College Park then he can come on down to Austin as far as I'm concerned.
  15. I'm gonna throw out a name that I haven't heard yet, and one that I would love to have: Mark Turgeon. Now, with that being said, I have zero clue what his situation at Maryland looks like re: his contract, his projected team for next year, etc. But he would be a huge upgrade who would bring stability to the program instantly.
  16. our historically weak non conference has inflated our win total, but we seriously lack quality wins, and statistically we don't look very good on paper either. if the committee has a clue (and they do), then our W/L total at the end of the season will essentially not even matter to them, even if we ended up with 19 or 20 wins. we are currently not even in the conversation as far as bubble teams go, and short of winning four more games this year then i don't think we ever even enter that conversation.
  17. also, re: Mike and Kaylee, even if there's reason for him to get pissy, the way he did it was drill totally out of character. "No, you're doing it wrong!" like a petulant five year old or something. if she had been disobeying him, or if she had been arguing with him and insisting on doing her way instead of the right way, ok, i can see him getting mad. but the way they had him just meltdown like a petulant child like that was just nonsensical.
  18. nah it was just Kobe and the girl.
  19. we got one cool scene out of all that monotony, and then she never even used her skills ever again; skills you might have thought she would use if she were going to, i dunno, KILL THE NIGHT KING. fucking giant waste of what could have been an amazing storyline.
  20. omg Aubamayeng. how fucking surreal. 10 minutes ago he'd scored an all-time winner, and now he just missed a sitter that ultimately means we go home.
