  1. Could a better coach do more with this group, would love to know (good question). Kent was a very productive in the coaches offense last year. The difference is it was a moving and cutting offense. Pope, Larry and Mark very productive in the previous coach offense. Coming to Texas, what the hell. I’m going to leave that right there because I think we all really know where the problem lies.
  2. Hell in that case none of them look good in this inconsistent offense and I don't like to talk about the players. We have guys that can just make tough shots. We have no offense to get the shooters easy shots which has been consistently said. I prefer not to single out individual players, as it’s “clear”where the issues lies and its not with the players. Some of these players just look different since coming to Texas and I wonder why. Someone mentioned prior that “it feels reminiscent of last year, though with a different set of players.” What remains to be the common denominator?
  3. It would be nice if we had a better offense that would consistently get our guys good shots instead of tough ones all the time.
  4. Thank you, and sorry that bothered you so badly (Mark).😂
  5. Does anyone know why Marks didn’t start in the second half? They started #22, which was unusual.
  6. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours. I also had my reservations about Larry, which is why I chose to do some research on him. Each member of the team has their strengths and weaknesses, but I refuse to downplay what they all excel at. Larry is a true point guard who possesses the ability to distribute the ball, and I won’t overlook that. I like all the guys on the team because they bring their own unique skills to the team. When our shooters are on everyone loves them but soon as they have an off night they have low IQ. They are not going to always have a perfect game, nobody does. Glad they won and hope we can keep it going.🤞🏻
  7. Tre stands out as one of our top shooters, alongside Pope, Arthur, and Marks. Each player has a unique role on the team; some excel on offense while others can pass and play defense. There are some who tend to be liability on defense.🤷‍♂️I've mentioned before that Larry is an exceptional playmaker who gets his team mate involved. In my research, I found that he led his previous team in assists for the past couple of years. They should continue to work cohesively and help each other on offense and defense.🤘🏻
  8. It looks like Larry was going to drive but I don't think the play would’ve been for Kent. It probably would've been for Tre or Marks.
  9. I'm glad Marks was open to get pass. He was big coming down the stretch and made the shots when they counted.
  10. In defense of Weaver's, he is not a true PG. He is our effort and hustle guy which I do like. Observing Larry, he is our only true PG that's looks to get everyone involved and plays defense. All other guards are true shooting guards, if I can call it “true shooting guards”. Having Larry brings a different dynamic on the floor. Good win for the team. Great last shot from Marks. He delivered when it mattered.
  11. Make me wonder to if they all practice together too.
  12. Is he the one that runs the offense😳
  13. We are definitely missing Arthur on the boards
  14. I like Pope and Larry—two totally different PGs. Larry is a true point guard who really gets everyone involved (assists), plays defense, and gets the offense started. At times, it looks like both are over-dribbling, but most of the time, it seems they are waiting for everyone to get set in the offense. I also think Larry is probing trying to see who’s open and that may get him in difficult situations at time. Pope is a shooting PG, plays well off the ball which gives him more opportunity to shoot. Not as good on defense. All in all the team had a solid game, played hard and won.
  15. Seems all are bad for you. You just said Marks was a disappointment but he's a good player. Why get here and look different like some of the other guys? You have your opinion. We all know where the problem lies.
  16. He was put in a coffin after Tre man got around him on defense.😬
  17. Marks and Johnson shot is just off tonight. When their shots fall they won’t be a disappointment.
  18. This is so true. No matter who they bring in, they will not reach their full potential. These guys have to see what everyone else sees. Let's pin these on transfers that come off the bench and get less playing time than what they are used to and most can't get in the flow of the game. It’s hard to believe this situation isn't frustrating for them as well, especially coming off a successful season and good coaching. Hell, I would be frustated too.
  19. Coaches terrible so that makes the team terrible. It starts from the head. This one-on-one has to be acceptable because I see it every game.
  20. I saw the same thing Kent was ranked in the top 10 in the country by KenPom. I had to quickly remind myself this came from a coach who had a Good Offense (moving, cutting, and screening). I know he maybe kicking himself in the ass because I would if I came to a nonexistent offense.
  21. It’s sad for Kent and Larry because they came from a place that played team ball and a coach that ran a GOOD OFFENSE. I literally went to watch some of their games from last year especially the NIT. They look like “TOTALLY DIFFERENT” players in a moving offense (night and day).😳 They even had that previous coach offense on YouTube so this shit has to be different for them too. They do not look the same here in this nonexistent offense. I don't think they are use to playing ISO ball. Now I can’t fault them because this shit over here is crazy. Everyone has to buy in on defense. Their coach was a mid-major coach, and he seemed to be able to run circles around our offense.
  22. It starts from the head
  23. What does that indicate when we have players "KNOWN" for playing defense? It suggests that defense is not a priority. The offense appears to be more valued, as players are rewarded and praised for scoring rather than for their defensive efforts. If a player is scoring, it seems they are not held accountable for repeatedly missing defensive assignments. So why play defense? When players like Marks, Larry, Kent, or others play defense, and their teammates miss their defensive assignments, gaps are left in the defense, making it appear that everyone is out of position. If you are scoring, this seems acceptable because scoring is the system. Defense may have been a priority at their previous schools. A player is considered a "great player" if they can score, even if they lack defensive skills. Pope is an "EXCEPTIONAL SHOOTER," I thoroughly "ENJOY" watching him play. However, RT has acknowledged in an interview that Pope struggles with defense. Don't get me wrong. While scoring is essential, I strongly believe in playing defense. It is challenging to stop the other team without making defense a priority. As the previous comment mentioned, "that is pure coaching." Some may have just been recruited to score, but we must still play defense.
