Paxton wins again, foster care system is no longer required to put queer kids in affirming homes. Traumatized kids - just going to be traumatized more. how does the song go? “Jesus loves the little children of the world.” Shhesh. https://www.texastribune.org/2024/09/25/paxton-biden-lgbtq-foster-youth/?utm_campaign=trib-social&utm_content=1742585108&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&fbclid=IwY2xjawJKvlJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHWsqLRgyEnD4noEogjj38hmmuRhDPE8c_Q1qv8Doqqki9CKpFLQR__51qw_aem_UG0XhCcZzzb1W2fg5tSc5A
  4. Wiley looks like a pussy. actually he doesn't look like a pussy, pussy is beautiful. he looks like a dick but I'm saying I bet he's a pussy, figuratively speaking.
  5. borderline? to be able to throw out the "dey posed to be SEC" line would be fucking epic.
  6. got my sat tickets on stub hub for $85* each, main grandstand upper level low rows. bitchin. * plus $100 in stub hub fees and sales taxes. let's fuck up some bayou folks.
  7. the 22 year old with the hot girlfriend.
  8. Not really. It’s a hold over from not wanting to talk about religion or politics with people you don’t know well. I am not fragile, but when I’m playing tennis I’m there to forget politics. Doesn’t mean I don’t want to roll up my sleeves and get after it later. Same for talking business, often times I don’t want to talk work even with a lawyer friend when we are fishing. Some places are for escape some are for engaging. As for born on third base folks, I don’t know I was born with an 0-2 count in terms of somethings, all white Americans were born on third globally speaking. But the generational club types? Yeah I don’t know: plus our club is an upper middle class club not really an exclusive club. Again when I’m there to take a break from the bullshit the last thing I want to do is suffer any bullshit. But keep on with the black and white judgmental talk, it suits you well.
  9. Nah it was the ass beating for putting a honkey tonk bumper sticker on the family car. Didn’t jibe with the city slicker martini style my dad tried to project.
  10. The only positive is his attack on fucked up food additives. I wish he would go on a tirade and crusade on banning plastics in our food supply. The rest of his shit is fucking bonkers.
  11. @Captainant That’s not the same dynamic. Club dynamic is keep your mouth shut on politics and religion so we can play tennis and golf without BP spikes. It’s literally a no-go zone unless you are with one of your own and you know for sure.
  12. While we are at it … @Armybrat’s first game at memorial stadium…
  13. My dad gave it to me gratuitously, he was the guy giving the vaccinations to service members being deployed I sat in the chair hanging out for the whole day. He asked if I wanted one, I said sure (because I was bored to hell and all these grown ass men were getting them so why shouldn’t I)? I guess it was harmless but Jesus johnny, why the fuck are you giving a small pox vaccine to a 3rd or 4th grader in 1983?
  14. Well and the club is supposed to be an escape. These days it’s too stark to miss it all but people are still polite. It makes for easier golf, tennis, happy hours, bridge for the old ladies, poker for the dudes, you name it. Maybe it shouldn’t be that way, but most of us don’t want to get riled up unless our opponent is calling the lines out. i generally abide by those rules but as soon as I know someone is liberal all bets are off, I’ll rail on the fuckstain republicans with glee.

Read an article where Equality Texas stated there are about 100,000 trans folk in Texas. No wonder it’s the Republicans number 1 issue. 0.33% of the population MUST be dealt with.
  16. Not a season goes by and I don’t miss his post game waxing zen and philosophical about how baseball is a metaphor for life.
  17. My folks sat in the option seats in 103 second row. I roamed the knot hole seats and we agreed to meet up at the gate with the giant seal after the game. It was the best of times.
  18. Truck is fixed, transmission pump failed. Replaced that and all the seals and gaskets around the transmission but that’s it. Serviced the transmission and put it back in place and it’s running well. Still not a cheap repair, about $2k with parts and labor. That’s $17k into this thing in the last 3-4 months. About all that’s left is the AC and fuel and water pumps. I’m pretty sure most everything else has been replaced since 2020.
  19. I fucking love south Texas / coastal bend area. Damn.
  20. On our way home stopped in Victoria for some Mexican food, forgot to take a proper pic but I demolished the enchiladas tampaquenias with steak asada. Las Tapatias gets 5 stars…
  21. long before that (early 1980s) they were simply called "knot-hole" tickets and had no corporate sponsor. as a kid we would roam the south endzone seats with our friends (seats were 20% occupied except A&M). a few bucks for a ticket, a few bucks for a hot dog and damn we were living large.
  22. fair enough, my first comment was it isn't long term. 7-10 yrs is long term in my view.
