  1. This is why vaccination for yourself and community vaccination rates of 95% or more are needed to ensure EVERYONE is safe, individual immunity plus community immunity requires cooperation among all people - fuck that noise …. except for … these people are so fucking dumb…

Pretty much the exact same play book. I’d say it will be hard to pass a ban on being trans but I wouldn’t put it past them. Was only the 90s when gay sex was still criminally illegal.
  3. There is a possible positive outcome. If Europe becomes a more independent militarily it could still be a US ally when or if the US ever stabilizes but until then it can be a counter balance. And a stronger Europe as an ally makes the alliance only that much stronger. I’m becoming very much pro Europe in this fight. Distance and develop more capability and capacity and make the world more stable. Multilateralism with the US and China at the top isn’t working for the world right now.
  4. Pubmed literally helped heal me when I was sick. I spent easily 100+ hours researching and found the most incredible and effective treatments I took for long covid through pubmed. Doctors didn’t recommend them, I went straight to the doctors that knew and offered the treatments to get them. Not one doctor asked me to consider this or that. In today’s treatment hellscape, pubmed is a critical part of patient advocacy. Fucking deplorable. edit: it’s working at this moment for me too.

  6. Funeral festivities are now over we’ll be home in 5 is there a link to watch this ass beating?
  7. According to an opinion piece I read they have solid naval forces, ground troops and air forces, what they lack is intelligence capabilities (satellites etc), and sophisticated weaponry to take out air defenses. And the UK and French are nuclear so there’s that too. if Europe puts troops on the ground in numbers and offers guarantees from a position of European solidarity I suspect Ukraine will still have a chance. Trump will undoubtedly use tariffs and whatever else against Europe to punish them but I think all that will do besides deepen a recession is make Europe distance from the US even more. Honestly that’s probably a good thing.
  8. Bitch, Project Lincoln, Liz Cheney and many others like you have been preaching the horrors of Trump. YOU. DIDN’T. LISTEN. So fuck you.
  9. There’s a lot of legit buzz around this treatment. No pun intended.
  10. Next up in treatment of depression… transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) … I’ve mentioned it before but personally - I’d do this and ketamine before long term SSRI. wired mag through my Apple News script … not sure how to link outside of the Apple News ecosystem https://apple.news/An_zWD5qJRoaruk-GKIKxNQ

When talking about surviving you gotta take what you can get - that law points to physicians not to patients. So healthcare will be banned but maybe it’s semantics but being trans isn’t illegal in that bill. So once again, if you have the means, resources and/or creativity you can get care out of state, out of country, or even DIY through underground methods. Sucks donkey ass but there’s still a way. Insurance is dead though under this bill. procedures of any kind will be out of pocket though making them unattainable for most trans Texans. Meds are a different story and more affordable at probably $30-80 per month. But you still have to find them.
  12. Yeah we are assuming it’s over. We are assuming it starts in earnest sept when Texas laws go into effect. We will change residency to a blue state first and if Mexico this summer goes well we may hire counsel to start that process for residency. Lots to consider, lots of variables, do my kids need to flee, can I still work, will they pass laws to take away my right to work in a regulated profession, other countries possible too just not really sure what we will do. But we are preparing.
  13. Congress can at least investigate and block legislation, force a shut down, etc etc. dems will take the house in the midterms, that’s enough to at least so these things. Take the senate and you block all judicial appointments. I’d just shut it the fuck down.
  14. @Thatguy the go no go is in the hands of the Texas legislature and to a lesser extent Congress. There are two laws in Texas one IDs and two prohibition on gender affirming care for all persons that we are watching. Laws passed in the session go into effect September. So we have a little time. But yes, interaction with law enforcement can cascade very quickly to incarcerated on a pretext and next thing you know I’m fighting not to get raped. And if the prohibition on care is passed there is an affirmative requirement to stop care and wean off any hormones. So I could be be arrested or fined for being trans. We are acutely aware how slippery the slope can be. If it’s just Texas we go out of state but if it’s the feds we flee. There’s a reason why we are spending a month in Mexico this summer.
  15. Sorry guys for lashing out. Yesterday was a defcon 1 day in Texas politics. Burying my in-laws today too. I’m clearly not in a good place today. I’m going to back away and come back tomorrow. I’m sorry if I upset any of you, I’m sorry if I made judgments that are no longer warranted. I sincerely appreciate the support I get here. That goes to you @immamac and you too @royiv
  16. Thanks. You know my primary reason for sharing is so that not one person here can say they are unaware of the carnage this shit fucked state and fascist federal government are causing to at least someone they know. and of Texas passes this absolute healthcare ban you can be for damn sure the feds will try and then we will have legit refugees leaving the US.
  17. Ok. But actually my kids are getting a pretty damn good education right now - politics haven’t quite reached advanced classes in our district. I’ve got a drum major and a budding all state musician in the other, they are hitting their stride and doing well. So even if I could get everyone to agree to up and move it would be at some significant risk to their near term success. Just a really shitty fucking situation all around. We will make it just fine but it doesn’t mean I’m going to have caviar and champagne along the way - well I might - but there will be some solid shit eating sandwiches days and nights to go with it to be sure.
  18. There’s zero good choice for us. They all suck donkey ass at a level you clearly can’t understand or really even partially appreciate. Thanks for the input though.
  19. Walk a mile in my shoes - including managing an ex that’s doesn’t want to move and a court order that dictates my kids stay in their current district - then tell me I should simply sell and move completely. Thanks. you and @royiv need a jump to conclusions mat.
  20. I’m 100% aware Texas is a high tax state especially if you have an expensive home. but yall all assume we are selling our house and moving 100%. We will do what we have to do to comply with residency requirements but my ex is here and my kids are 3 years out from graduating….. so we will have two houses and income tax in an income tax state and property tax in a high property tax state for the next 3-4 years. So we will be penalized until we can sell and move completely.
