well, I was focused on not harming a recovery (and so I added low histamine to my diet which kicked out a lot of spices), but I think most spices are going to be fine and are anti-inflammatory. so you could actually get really creative with the cooking especially if your household would buy into it. I was alone in that diet so it didn't work as well. on a low histamine diet even garlic is off limits, avocados, tomatoes, a number of fruits - all citrus, beans, legumes, the list goes on and I don't want to drudge that up, so what meals I described above is more restrictive than an anti-inflammatory diet. what is exactly on point though is the base description of lean proteins, nuts, seeds, limited dairy, eggs, fruits, good oils, vegetables and whole grains. That's exactly anti-inflammatory and our bodies (I think) crave this diet.

Southern CA Fires- Extreme Santa Ana Winds

pretty sure I don't have a curved dick, I mean I could check again if you want me to be absolutely sure, but kinda like when the nurse says "how do you know you're not pregnant?" and I smile and say, "I'm sure." -
I didn't have the energy to really learn to cook on this diet, I was really, really sick when I was in the thick of it..... but here's some typical meals: breakfast: - smoothie - spinach, organic peanut butter (no sugar added), dates, peaches, bananas, oat milk. - yogurt with berries - plain yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, sometimes grapes, nuts (pecans, walnuts, cashews), seeds (pepitas, sunflower) - small bowl of muesli with oat milk (look at the ingredients, there are low added sugar brands out there) - eggs and leftover veggies the night before (often potatoes - resistant starches (chilled and reheated potatoes are one of them) are great for gut health) lunch: - left overs from dinner the night before - eggs if not for breakfast - raw veggies - cucumbers, carrots, radishes, celery - fruit - watermelon, apples, pears, peaches, cherries favorite snacks: - fresh okra sliced and baked with salt, pepper, olive oil and dash of cayenne (I'd eat as much as I could until I wasn't hungry) - popcorn - organic nothing added except healthy oil and salt - that smoothie for breakfast if I didn't have it for breakfast - spoonful of almond butter. dinner: - chicken breast pan sauteed, broccoli, poatoes, green beans all boiled or steamed then pan sauteed with garlic, oil, salt/pepper - pork tenderloin roasted in the oven, sweet potatoes and squash (cooked the same as the veggies above) - fresh fish pan sauteed with asparagus and carrots and rice (veggies cooked the same way as above) - big garden salad with all the veggies I could throw in there - micro greens too! make a olive oil based vinaigrette. - 4 oz beef filet usually in a steak salad for a cheat. filet because it's lean. desert: - WATERMELON!!! - GRAPES!!! - sometimes that yogurt bowl above. - I would sneak a spoonful of honey peanut butter from HEB (2g of added sugar) if I just had to have a sugar hit. - maybe another smoothie but with the honey peanut butter instead of regular. late night snack: - if hungry and my added sugar was low enough and I didn't have cereal that morning I might sneak a bowl of museli or cheerios with oat milk. I later added mootopia HEB branded milk which has less sugar and I used 2% so less fat too instead of oat milk. too much milk would throw me off so I would not do cereal, smoothie and cereal again in one day. my dinners were large portions. I'd cook as much broccoli and potatoes as I could eat along with my sensible cut of protein. I'd eat a whole sweet potato (peeled and cut up). 2-3 eggs at a time. lots of olive oil. the absolute key is to watch dairy/animal saturated fat and added sugar. you really have to have your added sugar at near zero - I'd say even actual zero for a few weeks. the carbs in my diet were plentiful and they are harmless even good for you until you have too much added sugar, at that point it all seems to go rancid and weight gain is inevitable. but with virtually zero added sugar, the natural carbs become a non issue. I devoured potatoes and fruit, lost weight without trying.

Elon Musk: Nazi traitor piece of shit [Confirmed]
troph replied to MaybeACoordinator's topic in Daily Texan
so here's the thing - what is a nazi anyway? elementary school thought is swastikas, ugly old dude with a stupid mustache, genocide against the Jews, invading Poland, hyper specific to Hitler, the specific salute in question. Now there are Nazi elements in the Republican Party ... for sure... that utilize these symbols. and there is no doubt among reasonable people that the gesture he gave was in fact a Nazi salute. But the question remains what is a Nazi? What is Nazism? and I think when that is addressed it gets really chilling around these parts. As I understand it, Nazism is a subset of fascism where the political beliefs also include a racial or ethnic superiority. So what you have is a political party (fascist) with an intense focus on nationalism, strong military, talk of invasion or conquering other nations (panama canal/greenland), leadership and power concentrated with one person, with authoritarian views and policies and a belief that one group is better than the others and political action taken against the others (Nazi subset of fascism). With Hitler it was extermination of Jews and less well known disabled, LGBTQ, etc. Today, we have a deep blame and hatred toward immigrants calling them all criminals and thugs, a blatant disregard for LGBTQ folks, or at least the TQ folks, muslims, and a call to preserving culture, European and White culture in the US and Europe. All of this with callous disregard for the welfare of US citizens who are caught up in this hate, and even more disregard for non-US citizens. Musk has cozied up to a leader (Trump) who espouses these beliefs and policies and both of them have been on the record with claims of White and European racial and ethnic superiority - in the form of extreme degradation of other people and cultures that "threaten" American or European culture. people exclaim "he's not a Nazi!!" and in part that is because they agree with Trump or Musk but mostly because they are applying an elementary definition to what is a Nazi. They don't see themselves as Nazis because they don't give the salute or they don't think it's cool or appropriate to actually kill TQ folk or Jews, don't think an invasion makes a whole lot of sense, but they generally like the religious laws, they turn a blind eye to the treatment of others, generally supporting it, and they support a strong man candidate who engages routinely in fascist beliefs. To me, if we noticed the salute, but focused more on the substance of what Nazism really is, the picture is much clearer. No, Trump and Musk are not advocating for the mass genocide of Jews and the invasion of central and south america en masse, but together they are intensely focused on American nationalism, there has been talk of invasion, a desire for a stronger military, Trump has pushed the envelope of concentrating power for himself against our standard governing norms, and he punishes anyone that doesn't agree with or let him have his way. Meanwhile he's focused intense hate and ridicule on large groups of people on the basis of their ethnicity and sexual identity. And while extermination by genocide isn't his preferred method, he is taking rights of citizenship away from TQ folks and he is relocating people without deference to their humanity splitting up families, trying to strip kids of American citizenship because they are brown and those kids parents were not here legally when they were born. It's certainly fascist, and it gets damn near close to Nazism when you add the racial and ethnic rhetoric, and Musk is right there next to Trump. And it's with that backdrop that the salute becomes much more chilling and concerning. -
so is this where I ask for political favors as an oligarch?

two things get you nixed for me - is that swipe left or right I dunno - certain politices and Amway. my folks loved amway, did it like 3 different times together and in an odd cosmic cycle did it another couple of times once divorced ... at the same time. fuck amway. ugh.

I kinda rorschach'd this automatically and the first thing I saw was a penis. I've been on this thread a few other times and it still looks like someone taking a leak. not sure I want you guys to tell me what that means. but I felt compelled to say it. -
my son had covid and flu A this week, we were able to banish him to his room for 5 days, plus tamiflu and paxlovid (mostly for my benefit) and that shit stayed quarantined, no one else got sick. do not fuck around with ms. troph and her post covid vigilance. I'm a ninja. fuck that virus to hell and back. kiddo did great, his last day before he went to his other mom's house we were wearing masks he was symptom free and I told him of the stories of being grounded to my room for being a hellion. he was not amused. hey, at least I didn't make you pull a switch for me. his response, "what's a switch?" next time bud, next time.

this is the ONLY reason I will even consider stopping. But to be honest, I'll find another way if I can. fuck that place. it's emblematic of everything I think is wrong with humanity and not just politics. the largesse of it all - how many freaking gas pumps are truly needed at one gas station, sweet jesus?!? -
I think it's a lot more than that. only lean proteins, whole grains, nuts, seeds, eggs, limited dairy, fruits and vegetables. common sense eating generally means under 50g (absurd USDA guideline), under 20g of added sugar and generally avoiding animal based saturated fats. that's skipping ice cream, potato chips, crackers, bread, pizza, burgers (buns), tex-mex, cheap pasta, no butter, limited cheeses, choosing wisely at restaurants, etc. That's not too hard to do. 20-50g of added sugar and generally avoiding animal based saturated fats isn't getting any of us to very healthy status in our 50s - 80s ... our genetics might protect us some, exercise too, but if you want to be lean and fit as you age it's sleep, exercise, diet as described, relationships, and hope you've got the good genes. 5 grams or less of added sugar, eat 2 cups of cheerios with no added sugar milk or no added sugar oat milk and you're at 4 grams for the day. added sugar is everywhere except the produce section, nuts, seeds, eggs and unprepared raw meats, fish and poultry. whole grains, you have to scrutinize the label. go to the cereal aisle. you'll find maybe 3-4 selections in the entire aisle that have under 5g of added sugar in a small serving size. it's insane. if your household isn't on board with an anti-inflammatory diet, it's really hard to accomplish. simply put - in the US, an under 5g per day of added sugar and virtually no animal based saturated fat diet is ridiculously difficult - but it is doable. all of that said, my 5 months on this diet was incredible. I never felt more healthy in my life, all the while I was still pretty ill with covid but recovering. I would stay on this diet if I could convince my family, but I can't. So I'm going to try and manage through it. this week is a strict week as I added 5 pounds the last month.

Starvation diets will mess up your system based on what I’ve read. Better to just course correct on your diet. There is some mixed evidence for fasting for 2-3 days once a month, but straight up starvation isn’t a great idea. For most if you follow a diet like I outlined you (1) can’t really over eat bc is fiber filled, high volume low calorie foods, and (2) absence of inflammatory foods lets your body heal and rest from these foods that create a chronic state of inflammation which triggers weight retention.

One of the fastest WRs of all time with good hands? Seems like a plan.

I lost 30 lbs in 10 weeks on an anti-inflammatory diet - lean protein, whole grain, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, some dairy, eggs, salt, pepper and healthy oils - everything not on the list was strictly off limits. Total added sugar per day was 3-4 grams max. If my family would join me I could stay on that diet, the flavors exploded after about 4 weeks. Didn’t watch calories, ate as much as I wanted.

I tried to do one on a fetal pig in high school. Damn well nearly got suspended from school for that stunt.

Like I said, your wife is in menopause, an Eskimo or maybe you have a 10 … oh wait, nevermind I think I figured it out.

Nice sentiment in theory, in practice it’s a bit different right now. Every morning I wake up wondering if today is the day Rubio announces they are coming for my identity, I check to see if the bill filed in Texas to retroactively invalidate my Texas DL made it out of committee. There’s plenty of room for hate and the flag and anthem are being taken away from people and we who are under foot can’t do a god damn thing about it.
