  1. Depends on the restaurant. You can easily make $50-60k as a professional waiter at a decent restaurant, you can make less and you can push $100k in the nicest restaurants. I have no issue with tax breaks for the poorer Americans but this has no logic.
  2. Dog whistles to southern confederacy heros.
  3. The stimulus wasn’t the primary driver. It was a factor but it’s not magically perfect by Trump and excessive by Biden. A deep dive really will show some wild shit that went on in the supply chain and radical changes in consumer behavior that were much bigger factors.
  4. We want to see Maddow talk smart stuff to us over here. Popcorn and wine are already depleted we have lesbian sads.
  5. I have him on ignore saw too many quoting him. Sorry I’ll stop.
  6. He’s a rambling wreck. When he’s looking straight ahead he’s off script.
  7. You need to read more about economics. If Biden was a part of it so was Trump but more importantly it was the vulnerability in inventory systems from “just in time” profit motivations leaving supply chains fucked when radical shifts occurred in both production and demand. There were flaws in the shipping industry and trucking industry too that exacerbated supply and demand. Fed slow response was a factor too. And stimulus was a factor but it was brewing from the summer after Covid through the end of lock downs from all of the above. And that’s why I don’t really think is appropriate to blame a president. But to say not trump his stimulus was perfect and all Biden is just moronic.
  8. The tip thing is nonsensical, I support tax breaks on lower income but that’s an ad hoc thing, do something comprehensive. Some waiters make more than teachers. It’s a silly promise without any logical.
  9. Nah bro. We are hostile toward hate, insurrectionists, and religious zealots who believe the country should be run by them, for them and only them.
  10. You cool with Trump telling republicans to block the border bill that would give the president extreme powers to close the border?
  11. Is he serious? Trump signed a $2 TRILLION covid bailout. Now I’m not actually blaming Trump for inflation, I actually think a pandemic of this seriousness was going to wreak economic havoc regardless, but is this guy serious? Blame Biden for inflation because of Covid bailouts? geez.
  12. not until he has time to take credit for inflation decreases, stock market rallies to all time highs, and low unemployment rates.
  13. that was kinda funny. it would be really funny if reality was different. I'd say so.
  14. all of them will say it. will all of them actually vote?
  15. to be fair, more than half the country won't vote no matter what. they are allowed to have opinions too.
  16. I think you underestimate the anti-trump sentiment. we have soft Dems now who are Dems for anti-trump only. Think the former RNC chair, think the Lincoln Project. Anti-trump is the number one issue for men who will vote for the Dem nominee, regardless of their enthusiasm. For women it's no worse than second. Anti-trump is number 1, I'm 100% convinced of that.
  17. that's a bunch of horseshit. Trump's number one negative is he is a total piece of shit. His campaign is smart to try and soften his image. It's bullshit.
  18. not to go backward but this election for the Dems is two things (with the candidate third): 1. anti-trump 2. Dobbs/Project 2025 3. the candidate I didn't like the wildcard aspect of replacing Biden but hell, this thing will be won or lost on points 1 and 2 and I agree I think Harris will clean house with the women vote this time.
  19. I was posting about this topic and cringing hoping I wouldn't offend. I'm glad we are like-minded. I routinely turn down invites to all women things simply to avoid the nonsense. give me my queer people, guys or mixed company but all women, yeah I'm out.
  20. Outside of really nasty people, like objectively really nasty people, I don't think you are wrong.
  21. I think Dobbs changes everything on the suburban white women vote this go round for sure. So if not clear, I'm speaking historically.
  22. my wife and I play tennis in a white lady tennis league in an area that qualifies as suburban. There are no men involved at all. So there is no dampener. Most of the time it's fun, but when decision-making and control is up for grabs, holy shit you have never seen more tearing down of one another than with a group of white suburban women. I stay the fuck out of it. HRC lost from a combination of things, but suburban white women not voting enough for her was a top 3-5 reason. Now I will also say that we have had conversations about abortion access, etc. and the conversations are short and not in depth but more conservative women than you might think are pretty pissed about Dobbs mostly for very selfish reasons - their daughters. So Dobbs is a game changer on this point.
  23. most if not all of her 20 years of baggage was indirect criticism of her gender. she's too ambitious, she was trying to be a policy setter in HIS administration, she's not likable, her pants suits, stand by her man, she's not just a stand by her man, why didn't she leave Bill, etc. etc. etc.
  24. That chart is entirely inconclusive regarding how white suburban women might have answered. Harris will win the women vote, Trump will win with men. The questions about white suburban women is a subset of that.
