  1. https://hypebeast.com/2021/12/lickable-tv-screen-japan-homei-miyashita?ref=thefuturist A Japanese professor has created a prototype lickable, flavored tv screen.
  2. Just to clarify: Most CPAs and EAs are lost when it comes to tax controversy. Even those CPAs that work in tax rarely specialize in controversy work and rarely seek it out. EAs, to be frank, are usually just glorified tax return preparers and I wouldn’t even call them CPA-lite in that context. However, a significant subset of EAs are either ex-IRS personnel who now work for the other side OR return preparers who became an EA so that they have the same rights as attorneys and CPAs when it comes to tax controversy work. You’re more likely to find an EA that does tax controversy than a CPA, because so many CPAs don’t even do tax work. And if you find a USTCP, they can take you the distance, all the way into Tax Court (if necessary), attorney not required.
  3. You want someone, either an Enrolled Agent or a CPA, who works in tax controversy. Ways to check include looking at their website. Are they an NTPI fellow? Are they a USTCP (United States Tax Court Practitioner)? Are they ex-IRS?
  4. Whatever floats your well-fisted ass, ya filthy animal.
  5. Old is relative. It’s not just Tombstone. Far and Away is twenty-nine years old, so Nicole Kidman is an option. Shit, we got Drew Barrymore in 1994’s Bad Girls, Sharon Stone in the Quick and the Dead, Jodie Foster in Maverick, Salma Hayek in Wild, Wild West, Julianne Margulies in the Newton Boys, and the list goes on just for the 1990s.
  6. PT45 Beard Trimmer from the Beard Club. Use a Phillips Norelco Bodygroom 7000 for everything else.
  7. So YouTube is scrapping with Disney right before bowl season.
  8. Starting to look like last season was an anomaly. They are back with poor pacing, lack of character development, and a marked lack of patience. This most recent ep had a great, timely concept. But I do not care about a bunch of redshirt cadets. It must suck to be so outshone by Lower Decks.
  9. Got my Moderna booster yesterday, (had Pfizer the first two rounds). Drank tons of liquids yesterday and ate tons of food. It helped yesterday, but I woke up with severe body aches, fatigue, headache, moderate fever, and chills. Just took some advil with Jello and Gatorade and I’m feeling a little better.
  10. A few years back my main CPAP died so I used my travel machine until I could a replacement. It worked fine. The humidifier makes a difference for me and I'd never use a travel CPAP with an HME long-term if I had a choice. BTW, the CPAP bag doesn't count against the one carry-on and one personal item limit. You can even load it up with stuff in addition to the CPAP.
  11. You can buy gray market CPAPs without a prescription. But it is much easier to get CPAPs with a prescription. I’m getting a new one (after 13 years) so that I can buy a smaller travel CPAP and maybe have my insurance cover part of it.
  12. Try mouth tape. I have a beard and mustache and it still works fine.
  13. They’re definitely trying to take it YA. They haven’t learned from the Wesley Crusher debacle.
  14. It’s Marvel. It’s a metaverse where peak human condition from training can go toe to toe with Cap, at least for a little while.
  15. The second ep was better. Starting to think the crew is getting too whiny, even compared to prior seasons. It's not that they are having problems, but rather that the problems are too quickly discussed or resolved. Let us see harsh Tilly stew for a few eps, before realizing there is a problem. I fear a return to season 2, when narrative-building was short-changed.
  16. I think a tougher debate would be identifying bad Cold War movies. There are many bad Cold War movies qua movies, but bad Cold War movies?
  17. They opened DU right after I left. A high school friend is a chef up there, so it’s good to hear that the food is good.
  18. A bit formulaic and boring. Does set up something as a big bad.
  19. Pics aren’t showing up.
  20. Having gone done this road in the none-too-distant past, just make sure that the KVM or an additional hub allows you to share all other peripherals, e.g. headsets or webcams.
  21. He did got to TCU. One of my math professors liked to regal us with the tale of how he cut Klein no slack for having to miss class for shoots.
  22. I’d say peak Brendan Fraser was Scrubs or the Mummy.
  23. I'll go with a few SF/fantasy actors from years ago. Michael McManus (Kai from Lexx) Ben Browder (Farscape/SG1) Adrian Paul (Highlander)
  24. Food truck demolition derby?
  25. Haven’t watched reality tv in years, but it was always something to watch with my wife (or ex-wife years ago). Storage Wars and Flipping Vegas because of the characters. Just about any kind of shit when I was young, from the Simple Life to the Surreal Life. Again, it was because of the characters. Switched to YouTube for reaction vids, primarily the Irish Try channel, Reactistan, or various vocal coaches or other musicians. It was the characters. My only advice would be to get it at or under 20 minutes and stream it. My wife and I don’t have time for binging most days, unless it is just background noise.
