  1. Rooting for you! Let's go
  2. Two main guys with some support around the state feeding stats - Joe Lee Smith and now taking over - Jerry Forrest https://www.texasfootball.com/hof-joe-lee-smith?ref=search https://www.gosanangelo.com/story/sports/high-school/2021/10/21/texas-high-school-football-history-joe-lee-smith-jerry-forrest/6119381001/
  3. This. Even ags were asking what happened to him 2nd half the season, he was invisible. The post season accolades he got just shows you how little the voters actually watch games.
  4. Once again yeah team... "The company has maintained that none of its settlements contain admissions of liability or wrongdoing." We need to adopt the Japanese still of settlements where company executives in front of cameras need to admit liabliity and wrongdoing. Their family - parents, kids, neighbors, need to be sitting front row.
  5. Only positive on the IBRX offering was someone had posted a pic showing insider trading with Dr Soon-Shiong buying $30M worth (1/3 of the offering). Gives possible reason for timing. As a retail investor he can kiss my ass. As a still current shareholder... godspeed sir.
  6. Crazy how 7 of 12 CFP teams don't have a player on the first team.... No Georgia player on list? No Alabama? times are changing.. and these lists this year are also not great
  7. I'd assume he stays and hopefully a couple offseasons and another year he's ready to go when Bouwmeester moves on.
  8. Why do you say that? Looking looks like enrollment down, schools below 40% capacity. Student/teacher ration of like 13/1, little land in district for new homes ?
  9. This was noted after Venables brought in Jones to coach WR... hasn't aged well: "Following the end of Brent Venables's first season as OU's head coach, he brought coach Emmett Jones to Norman, and he's been working his magic ever since. Coach Jones is, without question, one of the most effective recruiters in college football, period. He was Oklahoma's secret weapon in the recruiting war, but now everyone knows his name. By no accident, Coach Jones now leads one of the nation's most talented and deep wide receiver groups. He recruits, develops, and puts talent where it needs to be. He's a player's coach, and his players love him. Jones' pass catchers look primed to lead the Sooner offense in 2024. Air raid playcalling, provided by new offensive coordinator Seth Littrell, will only highlight the Sooner receiver corps. Names like Nic Anderson, Jalil Farooq, Jaquaize Pettaway, Deion Burks, and Jayden Gibson will become household names under an air raid attack. The Sooners' receivers are deep at each level of the scheme. They have a deep mix of big-body receivers (Anderson & Gibson), slot speed demons (Pettaway & Thompson), and deep threats (Burks & Farooq). It is reasonable to say that 6 of the Sooners' top receivers could start on any SEC roster. Coach Emmett Jones is a new-age football coach. His roots are deep in the high school world, which gives him immense power and legitimacy on the recruiting trail. He's a down-to-earth, humble workaholic who can get intense when needed. Besides legendary offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh, Coach Jones is the most gifted and sought-after position coach on the Sooners staff."
  10. Damn, a grad transfer NT asking 7 figs... new era indeed. Read it took him 3 years to see the field (after trasnsferring) and then only because of injury in front of him. He's played decent, but there was always been a question of "want to" with him. I guessing 7 figs in southern California might not be a good combo in that regard.
  11. Not sure of the direction though
  12. Last I checked he's making $700K per year to no longer coach at his alma mater and coach at OU... so... money it is....he chose poorly
  13. If they were smart they would grandfather accounts that stay active
  14. This is a kid whose career was screwed up by a poor choice and an overly involved dad. Kid should have had shoulder surgery when he was injured as Jr in HS but didn't want to miss his Sr year and dad agreed to stick with plan. He waits until after his senior season and arrived at USC still recovering... they pushed him too quickly to return and he has never recovered.
  15. First conference home game at DKR is in November... wow
  16. with discount maybe, but Fubo's prices already high, I can understand why these services subscriber numbers are dropping. They are very likely to start adding the one thing everyone moved to streaming for initially... contracts. I can see them doing 3/6/9/12 month subscriptions at discount so they don't get huge dropoffs from sports fan between seasons.
  17. YoutubeTV just announced another price increase 14%.... fuck this.... I'm going back to rabbit ears (I'm not... but still... fuck this) To keep up with the rising cost of content and the investments we make in the quality of our service, we’re updating our monthly price from $72.99/month to $82.99/month starting January 13, 2025.
  18. Will be the second time this year Miami has targeted him...
  19. Hell, we've got guys doing the same to him over in the recruiting portal thread. I'm not going to shit on a kid who left his backup role to be a starting QB somewhere else which also happens to come with more money. As to when/how they do it... they are a backup that's not playing who has a chance to lock down a starting role elsewhere... you just go. Duke definitely pushed him out and he'll find another home so good for him.
  20. That IBRX offering isn't a good look... I'm going to be dropping some position on any type of reset up. 30% discount?? wtf
  21. Wonderful addition to their locker room.
  22. I mean, they need a QB.... they prefer an experienced QB. All the QBs in the portal have warts or they wouldn't be in the portal. Who would you take over him??
  23. Grabbing a SEVENTH year player who is meh and was hurt almost all of this season. I get wanting locker room experience, but guy played (occasionally) at Baylor and UAB. Pretty sure there are/were better options.
