  1. I just don't get the completely uncovered receivers going on. How does no one account for either the player or their space
  2. Boy, they talked up Cam Ward and then he started the game looking like shit
  3. Would that have changed anything in this case? Let's pretend he had the 100K in writing and they just keep delaying payment until finally saying - yeah we can't pay that, we can only afford 3K a month. Then what does the kid do?
  4. I'm still waiting for someone to create the Transfer Portal Auction Site where a player could say fuck it, I'll transfer to whatever group pays me the most offers me the most NIL opportunities and just leave it up to the highest bidding group. Would be like an escrowed GoFundMe that only the winning group pays out.
  5. I'd talk with the owner directly and throw the salesman under the bus and get a discount on what is owed or better have them do the one field again. The salesman screwed up by not coming out to look at it again after being notified.
  6. Take a look at Synology - Cloud Sync. We do this with our DropBox folders. https://www.synology.com/en-global/dsm/feature/cloud_sync Depending on how you configure things you can also store version history as well. We then have routines setup to copy to rotating local external drives for "offsite" as well as sending other copies to BackBlaze and such. Everything is available from with Synology for us.
  7. I'd really want to have a true backup older copy or two (rotating) to lessen impact of Ransomware scenario where everything gets hosed. Having backups a month, 3 month, 6 months etc helps protect this greatly.
  8. fyi he's referring to his own kid - Tony Grimes here with the A&M "issue": https://247sports.com/player/tony-grimes-46048912/college-290656/
  9. Whether the agent missed the big federal lawsuit, Sluka had already transferred before that ruling. Also has the NCAA rule changed or is it still - Can't sign NIL until enrolled... just pending lawsuit challenges? You sign before enrolling you are at risk of an NCAA infraction if the challenge fails (don't think it will, but could)
  10. To this point, he had one season of eligibility left, he went to UNLV for the NIL opportunites, not to play football at UNLV. Those opportunites didn't pan out so he's going to go elsewhere. It's not about playing football at UNLV.
  11. Some collectives obviously don't have much money... they are openly talking about paying QB1 3K a month (likely until football season over since that's when his eligibility runs out) ...so like 12K total.
  12. UNLV collective better have some receipts.... No way anyone going to believe they were getting a top FCS QB to transfer there for nothing.
  13. Then why are we paying all these kids if it doesn't have anything to do with playing? Stop payments now. If he was promised and not receiving then not horseshit. If he asked for more, then yeah horseshit. Someone else would take him just to be able to say UNLV lies to their players and doesn't actually pay the NIL they promise, even if that's false. If he can show I was promised X but they didn't deliver, teams would take him (or another like him) NIL has shown players like football but like money more, nothing else.
  14. My understanding is anyone who transfers during the winter window is eligible to play immediately. If you enter after Jan 1 you have to sit out a year if transfer to another SEC school. Just trying to limit issues with players going through spring practice then playing for conference opponent in fall due to systems, plays, signals, etc
  15. My guess is he won't be the last. Assuming he's telling the truth I'm guessing there are plenty other players who were told one thing but are getting another regarding NIL.
  16. assume everyone means during the winter transfer window, to play next season
  17. This is where it is all muddied up for me... they keep talking about "a share", but seem like majority going to athletes is from new sources and not a share of things.
  18. 38-10 Texas 427 yards I see this as a run fest on both sides behind a bunch of backups for at least half the game. Miss St will try and protect new QB and Texas will try and protect everyone. No injuries is goal of both sides with the outcome already known.
  19. Good thing as his NFL paychecks are getting smaller and smaller. He will end up being a cautionary tale against chasing NIL dollars.
  20. Can't wait to see the concerns after Hawkins has a bad game at Auburn and the QB controvery of which on sucks less plays out during their off week RRS prep. Sadly the defense against either QB is the same - stack the box and bait them into throwing it.
  21. Former #1 player in Texas as recruit and gets benched for a true freshman. Damn. Like every other mismanaged situation, why wouldn't Venables keep Auburn guessing until GameDay?
  22. While I agree it's MORE than a QB issue, the QB has been its biggest issue. Arnold interception was terribly thrown into triple coverage. He fumbed at the 3 yard line and also threw a backward out pass. He doesn't make those bonehead plays and OU would have been in that game.
  23. Best part of A&M's situtation is they don't even realize they are in the first stage of their rebuild. Granted with the portal, rebuilds can be quicker, but they will get worse before they get better and they are looking at 3-4 years to be relatively "good" again. Does anyone in their right mind feel Collin Klein will be their OC when things turn around? That was a impulse hire at a time there weren't many available choices. Klein will last through next season before they move on, so I'm thinking year 2 of whomever replaces him is their earliest timeframe.
