  1. I feel like we've seen this story before, and the big reveal is coming up soon. The only plot twist is what kind of stuff the guy was into? regular porn? illegal porn? drugs? booze? little boys? For my entertainment, I hope it's at least something new. Real Life is as bad as Hollywood at re-using old stories.
  2. I was on the road for the 2nd half and only heard Craig Way's Radio call on the PI at the end of the game. He got as upset as I can ever remember him getting over a call and said the QB was throwing the ball away and that it was totally uncatchable. A few minutes ago I saw the play for the first time and, sorry Craig, I think the refs got that one right. The ball was not being thrown away, it went right over (or maybe just outside) the endzone pylon. From the two angles in this video, it's impossible to tell how high the ball was, but three yards past the endzone it went into the arms of a guy on one knee, so it was clearly arching down. Another angle might show it to be uncatchable, but I couldn't find it on the web. From when the QB threw the ball at 4:05 the Texas DB locks up the receiver's arm, impedes his progress, and drives him out of bounds. Sucks, but that was the right call.
  3. It's either bitch about this or get back to work.
  4. This activate the nanites from the Covid-19 vaccine, but does this kill me, or save me? I'm not sure which side is supposed to die now.
  5. That's clear evidence of a time machine. Anyone denying it is just being Obtuse.
  6. OU is far better than last year, but are still far short of where we are. TX 44 OU 31
  7. It's OU week. Screw those guys. Oklahoma sucks, even at this hour. Fuck all of you Oklahoma fans.

    Getting old sucks

About 3 years ago, my primary care doctor sent me to a urologist for low testosterone and BHP. Taking testosterone can make BHP even worse, so I ended up starting testosterone injections and two daily meds for BHP: Alfuzosin and sildenafil (Viagra). A boner drug once a day? Oh, hell yes. I have no negative side affects and all I can say is the combination of meds feels like it has turned the clock back 20 year physically, emotionally, & mentally. Instead of fantasying about retirement, I mind is more about living life to it's fullest.
  9. Sorry, I don't think you read the whole article. The top part talks about last year tomfoolery, the bottom half talks about the new stay on the injunction that was issued days ago. Earlier this year, Texas passed a law requiring both age verification and a mandatory “health warning” message on all adult content websites. The Free Speech Coalition sued to stop the law going into effect (as it was scheduled to do on September 1st) and, as we reported, the court reasonably granted the injunction blocking the law, noting that it was pretty clearly a violation of the 1st Amendment for both the age verification bits and for the mandatory health warning, which forces adult websites to say that “Texas Health and Human Services” has claimed that pornography leads to eating disorders, impaired brain development and an increase in demand for child exploitation even though, as the judge blocking the law noted, Texas Health and Human Service’s department never found any such thing. As the court clearly notes “this is compelled speech.” Anyway, with the court rejecting it, we figured there would be some time for it to go through the usual appeals process. But we did not count on good ol’ 5th Circuit Judge Andy Oldham. Because a three judge panel that includes Oldham reinstated the law, putting an “administrative stay” on the preliminary injunction that blocked the law in the first place.

  11. If Tech had done the right thing and settled with Leach, I'd probably root for them to win the new Big-12 starting next year. But they didn't. Instead they went with the most bitch-ass move you can possibly imagine. The Pirate Curse shall live on. I look forward to TT dropping down to the level of a New Mexico State.
  12. Unless this poll is changed to allow multiple selections, the answer has to be Baylor. Baylor, Pedo state, and Michigan State can all go f*** themselves and die in a fire. Bad people can turn up anywhere, but if an institution turns a blind eye to s*** like these 3 did, they deserve any and all hate directed toward them.
  13. Any chance someone with a better grasp of this conflict add some color commentary to this. As an American, I'm not sure if there is a 'good guy' or 'bad guy' in this conflict. I get they really don't like each other going back a long time, and that one is predominantly Christian and the other predominately Muslim. I know Armenian is an allied with Russia and is part of CSTO, but supposedly the protests a few days ago were against the pro-Russians government? Azerbaijan has been supposedly leaning pro-western, and is not an ally of Iran. Talking-heads online describe the American-Armenian lobby as very strong? Is this right? why? I scanned the Wikipedia page for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and it feels like the same shit as the Balkans. System of a Down are Armenian, so that's cool, but so are the Kardashians, and that's very not cool.
  14. I flew to Vegas in July and that's about the outer edge of where I can handle discount airlines. For shorter flights, I'm more concerned with the flight times lining up for me. On the Vegas trip I ended up with Spirit going there and Frontier coming home... Both those airlines change an extra fee for a carry on, which when purchased ahead of time online, was an additional $57 for Spirit and $72 for Frontier....just for a standard overhead carry on. Anything longer than that and I really try and stay away from discount airlines.
  15. Seems like our win may not have been quite as impressive as everyone once thought. It only really matters if it goes to the CFP committee and they start looking at our quality wins... beating a 10-1 Bama looks way better then beating a 6-6 Bama. On the other hand, if we just run the table and win the Big-12 it doesn't matter.
  16. There are two type of guys here on Surly: The ones who would pull the pin and throw a sound grenade if they had one and liars
  17. I'm not saying you should use https://v2.sportsurge.net/home2/ but you should bookmark it.
  18. Real grass would look so much better at DKR. No more of those stupid rubber pellet clouds. Maybe I'm the only one who those bug.
  19. I'm pretty sure in this very thread there were discussions a year ago about Starlink not being enabled for all of Ukraine. My memory is old and is not as reliable as it once was, but I seem to recall Ukraine calling Elon out publicly to try and get Starlink enabled in new areas. I don't have the time or energy to dig through 273 pages, and the site's search feature isn't granular enough. Someone posted a Starlink connection log showing an outage during the drydock yesterday. If Starlink was ACTIVE and the turned OFF for the drone attack a year ago, can we get the same type log showing before and after? That would be a lot better than this "He turned it off" vs "It was never on" he-said / she-said crap. Either it was enabled before the drone attack or it wasn't . Some smart person should be able to conclusively show that.
  20. Honestly, until he started to talk, I really wasn't sure if it was Will or Chad.
  21. Not sure what makes you think that, because things are trending toward OSU/WSU being in charge of everything. Unless the Pac-12 lawyers pull some overlooked by-law or legal rabbit out of their hat, the arguments used to get the temporary restraining order are probably going to win the day. The by-laws are short and clear, and the Pac-12 just followed those by-laws and kicked CU off the board a month ago. At this point, with what we know, I'd expect OSU and WSU to be ruled to be the only valid members of the board. If/when that happens, they get to make the rules and they get to decide what happens to all the Pac-12 assets.
