  1. I hate this shit, 1 win doesnt mean anything even against Bama, win a title then you can say we're back Are you watching the game? Texas is not getting some lucky bounces to be where they are, and it doesn't look like they are playing over their head. Texas looks big, fast, and is straight up beating Bama. Texas hasn't looked like this since Mack Brown.
  2. After the Georgia bowl game, I incorrectly thought Texas was back; I was wrong. Now, Texas is back. No more losing to Kansas. No more bad losses. The Big-12 needs to fear Texas again.
  3. I guess the refs haven't gotten that deep into the rule book yet.
  4. The Big-12 Cellar Dweller beat the Big-10 Cellar Dweller. Hurray? I guess?
  5. Oh, yeah, now that you explain it to me it seems clear. Sometimes I not English so good.
  6. What is CAA? The only CAA I find in a quick google is Coastal Athletic Association...That doesn't seem to be it. Did they mean NCAA? If so, does that rule apply to Texas?
  7. Saban is 25-2 against former assistants with an average margin of victory of almost 24 points. Bama 38 Texas 17
  8. Some people can make incredible music while under the influence (see Santana at Woodstock), and some people can't. There's no way that band could have normally been as bad as they were that night, so I assume they were on some bad trip. Anyway you cut it, they sounded like a novice high school garage band.
  9. I saw REM in 1989 and NRBQ, who had been around a while but whom I'd never heard of, opened for them. Far and away the worst opening act I've ever seen. I think it was the end of the tour, so maybe they were burnt out, or stoned, or drunk, or all of the above, but from a musical point of view, it was like they had never played together as a group before. Luckily, REM put on a good show and the bad taste from the opening act was long forgotten. Until now.
  10. While it's true that our game is a #4 vs #11 matchup, virtually everyone outside of Austin expects Bama to win it. The Neb v CU game, on the other hand, is much more interesting to speculate about.

    Getting old sucks

Damn you old age. Damn you to hell. I'm in my late 50s, and I work hard to stay in shape. I ran a challenging half marathon in July; I lift 3 times a week; I get on the road bike at least once a week. But what I don't normally do is sprint. I went to the park to help my son work on some football technique. Specifically route running and getting faster off the line of scrimmage. The third time I ran a slant I felt my hamstring tear. I lasted all of 3 plays before my leg blew up. I should have known better; and now it's hard to even walk. A typical movie trope is an evil-old person sucking the life-force from a young person; I now identify with the old people.
  12. Curse of the Pirate. And unfortunately, since he died, the curse can never be lifted.
  13. On one hand, the Chanticleers have only lost 7 games total in the last three years, so they're a really good team, on the other hand, they play in the F-ing Sun Belt.
  14. It's a little early to tell. So far they've played and beaten two Power-5 teams. That's not many data points yet. The TCU win was nice, but Florida was an unranked team with 7 losses last year, but at least they are an SEC team, so that is something. They're supposed to beat teams like Portland State, San Jose State, Southern Utah, North Texas, Colorado State, Northern Arizona and Nevada. Even Boise State is supposed to be a W. Next week the PAC-12 plays seven Power-5 teams: Baylor, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Mississippi State, Auburn, and Oklahoma State Next week will tell us more.
  15. Maybe, but let's not forget we played Rice today.
  16. Indefensible? That guy is fucking Stupid. Gunnar Gundy was the 3rd QB to play, and didn't come into the game until about 5 min left in the third. The first two QBs didn't do diddly squat, and the score was a very dangerous 13-7 when the kid came in. Gundy let them to two scores and it was suddenly 27-7. Gundy, the one who is 40 and a Man, was justified in putting his son in.
  17. At the Half: Texas State 28 Baylor 13 Keep it rolling bobcats.
  18. Skin Cancer. Damn. A largely preventable thing today, but we just didn't know better back then. Not only was sun-screen not a thing when I was a kid, sun tan oil was the thing. And not the SPF-15 oil they sell today. That shit was like SPF negative 100
  19. google google google. Ah, here we go:
  20. Tell me you didn't watch today's game without telling me you didn't watch today's game.
