  1. From the front it looks like a B2 Spirit....
  2. google google google
  3. That Gorilla thinks he's a bad ass. I know for a fact that Kevin would fucking wreck his ass.
  4. Well then, I revise my take based on new info and I think the top 4 win and we have a boring selection Sunday.
  5. It's page ...and Russia and OU still suck. Slava Ukraini
  6. The San Antonio Rock & Roll (half) marathon is this weekend. My mileage is down and my weight is up. I know I'll finish, but I also know I'm not going to be happy with my time. You get out what you put in. I need to decide soon if I want to get refocused and run the Half at 3M and or Austin. I've done both of those and running the same course again doesn't really excite me. There are a lot of half marathons in Texas this time of year. Any recommendations for fun or quirky half marathon races?
  7. The only way to do a movie like this is to just go way over the top....and they seem to have done just that. Yeah, I'll watch this.
  8. Michigan I think is going to have an easy time. They're just a far better team. I see TCU and Georgia having close games for a half but then pulling away for comfortable wins. USC on the other hand is in a dog fight. It's in Vegas, so no real home field advantage. Utah won the first matchup, so does that give confidence to Utah, or put a bigger chip on USC's shoulder? The line is USC by 2.5. I think USC has been over achieving all year. I'm picking Utah by a point. So Georgia, Michigan, and TCU are in. Last of the four playoff spots: Ohio State. Two Big 10 teams. What is the world coming to.
  9. Once upon a time, Computer Shopper was the king. If you're too young or you weren't a Nerd, you may not have even known this existed. Behold, shopping for computers and tech gear before the age of amazon.com: For better or worse this went the way of 56K Modems.
  10. Messi is just a badass. I'm watching him away from the ball and he's got that relaxed walk like he can't be bothered. He doesn't waste energy and just keeps his spacing and watches all the kids run around playing defense. Until it's time to attack. Then he fucking goes hard. I wish someone on the USMNT would go at defenders like that.
  11. You can't really do much cool shit if it isn't above board. Buying HEB with cash for the next 25 years seems like a lot of opportunity for someone to accidentally stumble upon the stash. I don't need to be worrying about that 'suitcase' in the closet for the next 25 years. I need to find a surefire way to launder it, or I make 200 bundles of $5,000 and anonymously give it to churches and charities. 2 months it's either converted to legit, or given away. After that I sleep well again.
  12. Can someone fill in some backstory on this. Based on the clear rain ponchos that they all have that look like they must have been handed out, they knew the beer throwing was coming. Is that a tradition for poor results?
  13. Did the UA just kill Howard the Duck with a drone? Good for them.
  14. The Dominican Republic has the population of about the Chicago Metro area and yet they make up about 10% of MLB players. Canada has the population of about Texas and yet they make up 42% of NHL players. (US is only 27% of NHL) The common theme there is that those two countries are ALL-IN for their sport. In large parts of the world they go all-in for soccer. The US is never going to make Soccer the National Pastime. We should get more competitive, and we may even win a WC, but we are never going to wipe the floor with countries that live and breathe the sport from the youngest age. If someone suggested to you that China, with 4 times the US population, was going to take their best and "let them train together for just a solitary year" and then was planning on kicking the NFL's ass, what would your reaction be? And yes, indeed, fuck Qatar.
  15. Beto is a terrible candidate with a ton of baggage. How/Why he continues to get the democratic nomination for things is a mystery to me. He is as unlikeable as Ted Cruz but has liberal positions.
  16. You rich kids and your Skinemax. I had to read the damn book.
  17. They must have stopped allowing rides by the time I started binging my kids 20 some years ago, because we would have been all over that. A happy place indeed. Pretty sure we had a number of these:
  18. Lot of stupid things in that video, but probably the most unrealistic thing is the straight teeth on the UK lady.
  19. NASA doesn't have any orbital rockets of their own, they would have to contract it out. Below is the list of US-based active orbital rockets. Other than SpaceX, there are only 3 other big boys, and 2 are scheduled to be retired and the 3rd uses Russian engines. None of those 3 could build more rockets fast enough. If NASA was going to do the job of SpaceX, they would have to buy every possible launch from everyone in the EU, China, Russia, and India, and they probably still wouldn't be enough. Family Manufac. 20. Didn't WVU try that with the Big East when coming to joining the Big 12? I believe they lost and paid more than the normal buyout. IANAL but I would think sovereign immunity only works when the contract is within the state.
  21. I had a bit of an adventure driving in Australia earlier this month. I spent a week in Australia at the beginning of October, including 2 days in Perth where I rented a Car. I could have used public transportation and Uber, but I'd never driven in a wrong-side-of-the-road country before and wanted to try it. Phdhorn hit the nail on the head in post #7. It's not hard, but it takes more of your focus. I was able to drive through the morning commute to the Central Business District (i.e. downtown) in a city twice the size of Austin without any problem, but I was completely focused on driving and Google Maps. On my last night there, I was heading back to my hotel near the beach/coast after an exhausting day and decided to get a fast food snack a few files from the hotel. At about 1AM, I pull away from the drive thru with my food and start to make a right-turn in to the near lane. With virtually no traffic to remind me of the flow, and clearly not enough focus, auto-pilot took over. I probably only got half way through the turn onto the road before I realized my mistake and backed up...then turned right into the far lane. No blood, no foul, right? Ah, no. About a minute down the road I got lit up by cop lights. Fuck. I've been pulled over for tickets before in the US, but I know what US laws are, and I know what cops can and can not do. It never occurred to me to research that for Australia. They were pretty chill, but they told me that based on my driving I was going to need to go with them to the station for a breathalyzer. I wasn't sure if it was a request I could refuse, or an order that I had to comply with. I've since looked it up, and it was an order that there was no option of saying no. A ride in a Police Van, a breathalyzer, and an hour of my time later it was all sorted and I was back at my hotel, and as an added bonus, they didn't give me a ticket for initial turn into the wrong lane.
  22. Did anybody watch the OSU-KSU game? What did KSU do (or OSU do) to cause a 48-0 score. The box score doesn't really tell the story. KSU had a 150 yard rusher, won the turnover battle 3-0, and held OSU to 59 yards rushing, but nothing there stands out as leading to such a beatdown.
  23. You would be wrong. SpaceX was selected by the FCC to provide rural internet that would have been worth about $900 Million, but before SpaceX got any money, the FCC Withdrew the award. On the latest appeal the FCC has moved the goalpost for the award. As it stands now, SpaceX has paid for Starlink. The estimated cost has been about $10 Billion.
  24. Wow. This thread has turned into a circle-jerk for the Haters. I don't know if it was wasted money on twitter or not, but I do know that Musk now owns one of the most important sites on the internet. Full Stop. For just about any breaking or developing story, Twitter is the go to place. Stories break there before anywhere else. It may not stay that way, but for better or worse, right now, Twitter is wildly important....and the same guy who owns the most transformative car company, the most dominant space launch company, and the largest satellite constellation, now owns it. Musk does say some stupid shit, and he does come across as spoiled Tech-bro sometimes, but it wasn't daddy's money or stumbling-and-bumbling that got him where he is. Credit where credit is due. Take the good with the bad. SpaceX and Tesla are huge net positives on society....and its not like he's electrocuting dogs in public like Edison.
  25. That line of thought holds weight for a small groups of people who have a shared experience with her, like teachers at the same school, but people come and go and LEOs turnover all the time. People she told one year would have no contact with people she told the next year. It seems highly unlikely to me that she could have told as many people as she did and she was always ignored. The lead line from one of the Newsweek articles reads: That rings true to you?
