  1. Holy Shit. You got to see BTS. That's awesome.
  2. You crazy bro. You may not like Bryan Adams but there is no reality where he's a horrible singer or a 'bad band'. Top 10 singles across 3 decades, 5 top 10 albums, and a shitload of great songs. Cuts Like a Knife and Reckless are still listenable today.
  3. I didn't even realize there was no 'yes' option until I was admiring the results.
  4. I love Luka's competitive streak. After getting mauled multiple times while driving to the basket, with no calls, he get the ball at half court, lets the defender get all up in his face and then puts a hard shoulder in the dudes chest and puts him on his ass. When ref called the foul, he give the ref a thumbs up. He's got that fire that Jordan and Kobe had... and that KD, Harden, Steph and so many other great players just don't have.
  5. The stream is only free for 30 minutes....Mine will cut out probably mid-4th qrt. Screw these jack-wagons.
  6. Turns out nbc has a legal stream https://stream.nbcolympics.com/basketball-mens-prelim-game-5 Luka and friends: 84 Argentina : 58 2:12 left in the 3rd.
  7. This is actually a pretty well done troll job. But really, prime Jordan, Magic, and Bird on the same team are not losing to anybody. Period.
  8. The roman empire didn't fall in 180AD, more like 395 AD. (422 years) The Byzantine Empire went from about 330AD to 1453AD (1,123 years) The British Empire probably should probably start 50 years earlier.
  9. Am I the only one here embarrassed by the horns down ruling? Screw that ruling; it does make us seem like cry babies. We should take care of that shit on the field. Throw a horns down? Expect your QB to end up like Taylor Potts.
  10. It's very cool, but unfortunately much of their landing technique doesn't scale up. The New Shepard comes to a full stop in the air, stabilizes, and slowly touches down because the small engine (BE3) can deep throttle down to something like 20% power. Bigger rocket engines have a harder time doing that, with Blue Origin's next-gen BE4 engine no exception. If SpaceX could land the Falcon 9 like that, I'm sure they would. Instead they had to learn how to do a suicide burn at the end to get delta-v to zero right at zero altitude.
  11. As a casual fan here's my ranking of all Wes Anderson's movies from Best to Worst 1. (tie) The one with Bill Murry and the one with Owen Wilson. The list also works for the Worst to Best ranking.
  12. Interesting...A quick google search doesn't seem to find any clear allegations that Adam Walsh's murder was directly connected to drugs, but it looks like the Walsh's really were into coke....and he worked for an off-shore casino. You got Money & Drugs in the mix, so that it's plausible. When they sued Sears, Sears disposed a friend that used to live with the Walshes and the friend claimed under oath to having an affair with the wife/mon and about the Walsh's big coke use. Not surprising they fought to have that sealed. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about that before. https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-xpm-1991-07-27-9101280122-story.html
  13. Sigh, I actually googled "how to earn all forum badges" this morning to see what I needed to do. You should have made a badge called "$100/mo subscriber". Obsessive people like me probably would have done it.
  14. From the linked article: This is exactly what big car companies used to do with All Electric Vehicles before Tesla came along. They dump a little money into some interesting startup, sign a meaningless, non-binding 'deal' for some number of units, and they get great press out of it and it makes it seem like they care... and then they continue business as usual. In this case Heart Aerospace seem to only have just received $35Million in Series A funding. I'll make a not-so-bold-prediction that this will not fly in 2026 and United will never receive any planes.
  15. You know what they say...small hands, small...
  16. From the perspective of looking back on their (almost completed) careers, Young was by far the most versatile and prolific, and I'd argue the most talented.
  17. Adolf sitting in with the band? I mean who isn't a Skynyrd fan.
  18. As far as videos about bands that broke up 50 years ago, this one looks pretty damn cool. I don't know anyone witH Hulu+, so I may have to wait a bit, but yeah, I'll watch that.
  19. I was curious what Cosby actually said during the civil deposition. https://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/19/arts/bill-cosby-deposition-reveals-calculated-pursuit-of-young-women-using-fame-drugs-and-deceit.html I'm glad the truth came out and exposed Cosby as the PoS he is, but I have to wonder where the hell his legal team was during this exchange. Deal or not, sealed or not, why would you ever admit to that? It's like 90% of the bad guys on CSI or L&O; show them some still-explainable-evidence and they go all "I'm glad I did it". I guess its good for the world that bad guys don't learn to shut the fuck up.
  20. So if I understand what this thread is saying, he had lawyers that were complete idiots to start with, and then they turned into high-powered lawyers that only 2%ers can afford?
  21. You could fill books with stuff I don't know about how the law works. Even if he couldn't take the 5th in the civil proceedings, wouldn't a good lawyer recommend that he use the tried-and-true "I don't recall" for 95% of the questions? Maybe for a few "Did you rape her?" type questions he lies and says a direct "No", but everything else should have gone to the mental shedder. If it's he-said-she-said, and he's Bill F-ing Cosby, he's probably going to win.
  22. To complete in the Olympics in the Women's category, based on the latest 2018 IOC rules, a person has to identify as a woman for the purpose of competing in sports and have total testosterone level below 10 nanomoles per liter for at least 12 months. No snip-snip required. 10 nmol/l = 288 ng/dl If I hadn't started TRT, I might have had a shot at Olympic glory. I wonder if there are any sports where my old-man body could still beat Olympic level women.
  23. Interesting chart. A quick google search didn't turn up the actual answer, but this article https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/06/23/fact-check-how-many-unarmed-black-men-did-police-kill-2019/5322455002/ lists the number of unarmed black men shot by police in 2019. The total there was 13. This doesn't count other causes of death like beatings, tasers, and kneeling on someone's neck for 10 minutes. It would seem that "About 10" is probably the closest to the correct number.
