  1. it may be a shitty draft, but the advantage of already having a core 6 of 23 and younger guys is that there is no need to hit a home run with the pick. just get someone who can contribute (of which there should be plenty of guys in the draft who can/will) and you've added another young and useful piece to your core. so what if their ceiling isn't an all-star player? if you can get someone who can be the 4th guy on a playoff team, that's a win. if this were year 1 or 2 of the rebuild, it'd suck that this draft doesn't look like it will produce a superstar. but thats not where the rockets are anymore.
  2. the woe is me act from pistons fans is hilarious. you've had the #1 overall pick followed by the #5 overall pick for three straight years. if you can't get better with that its 100% on your front office.
  3. if so, that's fine. someone else can pay the ransom.
  4. i'm not 100% opposed to a Jalen Green and #3 pick for Donovan Mitchell trade, but an extension for Mitchell has to be part of the deal. You can't trade a 22 year old you took #2 overall and has flashed + a #3 pick for a one year rental.
  5. Clingan wouldn't play alongside Sengun. He'd back him up and take some of his minutes in situations where defense is needed more than offense.
  6. this is fucking ridiculous. clear as fucking day it was an inning-ending double play. lets go.
  7. awesome result. i was convinced that we'd be picking #9, so this is a very nice surprise. There is a lot that can be done with the #3 pick. even in a weak draft, it should be a pretty solid trade chip if they wanted to go that route. my first inclination is just to keep the pick and take Donovan Clingan. I think he profiles as a perfect compliment to Sengun. but i'm open to exploring trades for established players as well.
  8. this card has been highly entertaining. hoping for a Derrick Lewis KO to cap it off.
  9. right now during the offseason i just listen to C&F as i get ready for work in the mornign and hear whatever is covered during that time frame and i don't really bother with any of the rest of them. during the season, i'll make a habit to go back and watch the entire episode each day and i also watch a couple of the livestreams throughout the week as well. my favorite one they do is the reaction pod right after the games end. i'm usually buzzed to drunk by the time those start, but i always put them on nonetheless.
  10. on coffee and football this morning, CJ said it wasn't a given that LBJ starts on Sunday. not sure who else they'd trot out there, but i can also see why they don't have a lot of faith in LBJ right now.
  11. i saw a projection yesterday that had us hosting Penn State in the first round and then moving on to play Utah in the Fiesta Bowl. Looked pretty ideal to me. I, too, drool over the thought of a home playoff game at DKR.
  12. you're a good dude. keep up the good work with the YouTube channel. it has certainly enhanced my longhorn fandom over the past couple of football seasons. i have nothing but respect for you, Gerry, and Blake for producing listenable content on a daily basis.
  13. i thought he pretty clearly spelled it out: their qb is a spare.
  14. just watched the replay of the Inoue/Nery fight from very early this morning. What a fucking monster Inoue is. Just a joy to watch. Would love to see him move up and fight Navarrete at 126 or 130. That would be an all out war.
  15. i was watching some of that game yesterday thinking there is an alternate world that exists where both mobley and banchero are on the rockets...
  16. i'm not sure that's true. their stud pitcher had the game of his life in game 1, but we beat them in the second matchup while the third matchup was a close game we ended up on the wrong side of. i don't think anyone here went in to that third game thinking we had no shot to win it.

  18. yeah im illegally streaming this over ufc tonight.
  19. that was a fucking awesome finish. i had thought Fierceness might be the next coming of American Pharoah but obviously not. Sierra Leone looks like the best of them to me. My guess is he's the favorite in the Belmont.
  20. yeah the more i've looked into it the more i think Fierceness is probably just too good. Leaning Fierceness over some combinition of Sierra Leone, Just a Touch, and Catching Freedom.
  21. he's seriously pinch hitting Brown here???
